I'm an ND fan and I have a life long Nebraska fan.He was 10 years old at the time and he was so confiendent Nebraska was going to pull off the upset and continue their dominance over Kansas....he was bawling so badly by the 2nd half lol
I remember that day and I didn’t watch the game but what’s funny is I remember I was at legends mall in KC Kansas and at the mall outside, I saw a Nebraska fan in his Nebraska gear shout to everyone “IM A LOSER!!!!!!!!! IM A LOSER!!!!!!”
I remember watching the 2006 team in person and realizing we didn't have a single corner who could even make a play on the ball or stay with a receiver...the dline was really good and it covered the problems of the back 7. In 2007 NU had to bring in a new dline coach, a guy who had just been fired at another school. The lack of defensive coaching was epic and the collapse was surprising in hindsight.
The embarrassing thing for Nebraska is that KU could have EASILY scored 100 points against the Huskers that day because KU had 76 points with 11 minutes left to go in the 4th quarter and at that point took out the starting QB. So it only took KU 3 quarters plus 4 minutes to put up 76 on Nebraska.
The game that was the final nail in the coffin for Bill Callahan as head coach. He could of won the last 2 and wouldn’t of matter. This game is what decided his fate as head coach

I go to the end to see the score, I see Kansas 76, see Callahan. He who shall not be named. He's so infamous in husker Fandom we don't like to utter his name. HAHAHAHA. When Steve Pederson said Nebraska wasn't going to "surrender the big twelve to Oklahoma and Texas" he must have meant we are going to surrender to the entire big twelve.
