Sad that kids of today can not experience a real Toys R Us adventure. Such great memories when I took my son there. I'm glad he experienced it all growing up over 20+ years ago
I agree. Even the two freestanding Toys R Us's are nothing like the ones we had in the 80's and 90's. I hear that Canada still has some old-school Toys 'R Us's though....
I'm still feeling blessed that Canada still has toys r us I went on a mini adventure back in November I bought uno and dos. Also Daniel tiger was a part of Mr. Rogers neighborhood of make believe he lived in the clock almost directly across from king Friday the 13th. They decided to spin him off and make a standalone animated series.
there was nothing like going to a Toys R Us when I was a kid. I think I was only able to bring my Son there a couple times before they shutdown. I hope they can make a come back. The selections and Walmart and Target just arent the same.
If I'm ever in NY, I'll check it out. I believe that's the original Macy's store, right? I would guess that they would have the biggest Toys 'R Us department.
The last real Toys R Us I ever went to was the once-huge Douglaston, Queens store about six years ago as they were liquidating it. So sad, man. I bought a Cinemachines Blade Runner 2049 spinner car diecast (about a 6-7" one too) for maybe $8 clearance. They had some great diecasts and movie vehicles then. Now....we have jack s--t. I feel terrible for the poor actual kids that have been robbed like this. Years ago on LI we had Toys R Us, Kay Bee, Child World, TSS, and Korvettes and you could always find the best toys and vehicles and Star Wars shit, and Atari game, etc. at all of them. Good lord. It's a shame FAO Schwartz never branched out and opened mall stores, since the NYC one is still worth going to.
I worked at Toys R Us in the mid to late 80's. These pop ups depress me. Seems they see a lot of off brand junk. Kids have no idea how great it was to go to a toy store. It doesn't even feel like Christmas anymore as a lot of malls are dying. That was the fun of Christmas.
Yes, two. One at American Dream Mall in NJ (check out my video) and one in the Mall of America in Minnesota. They are allegedly opening more though in 2024. If any open in my general area, I'll check it out.
@@fleabittenadventures I live in Massachusetts they had one in the Whitney field mall witch u did a vid on where the launch was as that used to be a toys r us
Yes, I believe there is a Toys 'R Us department in all, or most, of the Macy's stores. There's only 2 actual Toys 'R Us stores in the US currently. I went to one of them earlier in the Spring.
@@Palmlandia Because the big box Toys R Us weren't viable anymore, losing money, not enough floor traffic and sales to keep them open. The Macy's depts. cost less in rent and overhead, and don't require huge staff etc.
You think that's bad, have you been to Five Below? They just opened a new store near me on LI, and I went in there and I don't see why people get that excited about overpriced, cheap junk from China or whatever. Tons of candy that nobody over 11 should be eating, LOL. Cheap dumb t shirts. Cheap kids books that aren't even good kids books. And the lighting was so bright, I almost had a seizure! LOLZ

That button placement on the Frozen doll was so funny.
Yes, that really blew my mind. Why not put it on her back, or somewhere less creepy?

All those toys look like something you would find at Ollie's Bargain Outlet. All of those generic toys are really cheap looking.
Yes, the Rescue 1 toys, or whatever they were called, were definitely something you would find at a Dollar General or Ollies.
In 2013 me and my family went to toys r us one time in Tennessee 😊 and it was my childhood in 2013 of toys r us store.
The Toys R Us at Macy’s in NYC is pretty big

Yes! Can you do please Target.

The Toys-R-Us section of the Macy's near me is much smaller and not well lit.
What a stupid world we live in.. no merchandise is priced in the store....
Yes, that was the most annoying / confusing part.
Kids dont play with toys anymore because all their parents do is give them a screen...
Tell that to my kids. They're 7 & 5 and my house is overflowing with toys!
They definitely don't play with toys the way we did back in the 80's.
Fair enough.
Completely agree there like zombies transfixed to mobile phone and vidio screen s
I used to go to Toys R Us all the time. I miss those days. @@fleabittenadventures
i was just here today
Also one in R.I
The Macy's Toys R Us are all over the place, I think.
Wait they still have toy r us locations?

Because this was filmed shortly before Christmas and they were playing Christmas music.

Its sad how these new people are dragging dead jeff through the mud just trying to capitalize on the name. These are not toys r us toy brands!😢😢😢
Nope. They are just using the name.
He's Geoffrey to you, bucko! LOL
I think these Toys r Us in Macy's are junk r Us. They're such a joke.
I kind of agree. They are basically the Macy's toy department with Toys 'R Us branding. Still good to see that name living on though.
