@@HollowayAutoProducts I am flattered indeed! I do my very best to give everyone an experience that would make them say that... whether they buy anything or not.

@JohnFoxBass I'd say you're doing a top shelf job! Its very nice to see someone who does Good, rightcheous things from the heart, the way God wanted it like yourself. You took the EXTRA time to learn in depth details behind a product you believe in you sell to people. It's unfortunate here on earth we call these old school or traditional values, I use to say it myself. But the truth is, these "old school" and "traditional values" in "business", although true, really are actually eternal values. You provide LUXURY service knowing you're product like that for a customer, that stuff is priceless. How amazing is it to know that you can call your salesman and know he's not just a salesman? Maybe one of these days, I'll call you and buy one myself. If I was, it's because of the time you took with the video and the backside of things you've done outside of this video.

Did I see a magnet fall out at 3:30 ?

Wow, eagle-eyed Paul! I do see what you mean. I just went and checked both pickups. They are fully intact, those magnets are VERY firmly and permanently glued in place. But I did find a small chip of the glue on the floor. Sure enough, a little flat pancake shaped drop of the clear epoxy or whatever the adhesive is that is securing everything did fall off the flat surface of one of the pole pieces. It was just sitting on the pole piece without being connected to the bit that was running down the side of it, so it didn't have much to hold onto. Very impressive that you spotted that! Thanks for watching. :-)

@@JohnFoxBass I was watching in full screen on a big monitor, hoping for a close up. I have four Canadian Dingwall basses. Three of the from the 2000s with the square corner pickups, which I have upgraded every time they made changes to the old FD3 design. My fourth Dingwall is a 2018 Z. It was made to order, so I have never had a reason to remove or modify anything on it. I haven't even looked at the bottoms of the FDVs. So, I'm always curious about the varieties of the current pickup models.

Super nice video ! I was wondering about that exact question.
Just wanted to say, 3dB isn't twice louder for human hear. You can get 3dB by using 2 cabinets at the same level instead of one, but that is not twice the level for human hear. Actually, human perceive twice the volume when there is an increase of 10dB (which is a lot, because it is a logarithmic scale)
And the "N" in the FD3-N are normally just for the Korean made FD3 that are in the Ready to Play serie.
(I saw you at guitar summit, De Gier booth, but didn't come to you aha, I tried one of the P 5strings)

@@francoishtzl157 I wish you had stopped and said hello! Thanks for the correction on the decibels. I learned something! I know that 3dB is a doubling of power, like if you go from 400w to 800w, that gives you a 3dB increase. I mistakenly equated doubling of power with twice as loud. Looks like you are right, 10dB is considered to be twice as loud. Regarding the pickups, there's a difference between FD3n pickups which are made in China and used on the imported instruments versus FD3-N, which means it's a Canadian made FD3 pickup with the N polarity as opposed to the B polarity. On a three pickup bass, the pickups are normally arranged NBN because you cannot put two of the same polarity right next to each other. I was just reading the label on the bottom of the pickup as I was making the video and realized right after I said the n that I should not have even said the N. I should have just said FD3, since I was holding a Canadian pickup. If you look at the bottom of an imported FD3n pick up, you cannot see any pole pieces or wiring, it is all filled in with black epoxy or resin, so all you see is a sticker.

@@JohnFoxBass Super nice to know thank you for the clarification ! I just send my NG3 to a Luthier and he didn't understand why it was labelled NBNeck, is it for like Phase or something like that ?
For the dB thing, I was searching the other day because I wasn't sure.
      Exemple :
If you go from 80 to 90dB, it is 10dB so twice the volume the humans. But if you go from 80 to 100dB I wasn't sure if it was like but 20dB increase is 4 times louder. I didn't realise that before ! :O
If you are at Guitar Summit this year (I hope me too) I would come say Hello :D
I think first video I comment on was on the Bergantino Cabs, I was searching for a Cab and now got an NXT212. Sound Greeeeat
