I am a retired photography professor with 40 years of teaching at the university level. I found your video very basic but very good. It was thorough, complete and enjoyable to watch. Thank you!
@@SusanneGeert Well, mirror blocking function holds a mirror at the top position in order to prevent blur due to mirror moving. This very useful for macro shooting and also use telephoto lens and/or long shutter speed etc.
honestly, the portraits you take of yourself are amazing 👌 Also that last tip about focal length and shutter speed…thank you for that. Using that going forward.
Great Video Julia!, I have the Peak Design CF Tripod that I use for travel which is similar to the Tripod you were using, after watching your Video, I learned that I can now have the Tripod tilt to shoot into a portrait mode, which is something I would not have thought of until watching your video, thanks again for sharing the knowledge :)
Julia, thanks for your video. I have a question. Any time I take a picture with my 800d and my old phone, I can see my mobile phone's picture is sharper and more vibrant than may DSLR. Why is like that? If smartphone gets better pic, what is the result of usonga DSLR?
Whoa! So much great info packed into this video. I must say I'm a bit jealous of watching you in a summer outfit while it's 9 degrees Fahrenheit here in NE Pennsylvania, USA! LOL! Thanks for the info. Have a great day....
Thanks for a great video 🙌 TWO QUESTIONS: 1) Do you know if the articulating arm from SmallRig can be used on other tripods (I have a Manfrotto 055X B)? 2) How do you make your camera takes multiple images like at 5:50? Thanks in advance 🫶
Amazing work as always! Hopefully someday you can walk us through more SOOC shots and then editing in LR and/or photoshop if you have some new tips to share. But as always, amazing crisp shots!
Hi Julia, do you turn on IBIS on tripod or turn it off? Also if the lens has stabilization as well would you leave both on or would you turn one of them off? Thanks, lots of good info in the video.
I had the same issue on my A7III, unfortunately it doesn't work like that natively. I found a workaround with an app called Shutter though where it will refocus when you press the shutter in the app for it if you wanted to try it out. I haven't used it in ages though, so hopefully it still works that way!
@juliatrotti I love those landscapes. What are you shooting with your 200-600? I've gone as high as 200 mm with my 70-200, but I haven't been in situations where I really wanted something longer. Have you done any astrophotography with it?
Thank you! I took it to Antarctica for wildlife photography, it came in very handy. I will be uploading those videos starting next week, I can't wait to share them!! And I also took it to Europe with me. In my Austria video I used it quite a lot for landscape photography. It's like my "portrait" lens for landscapes haha i love the compression
@@juliatrotti You got to go to Antarctica? That's amazing! I guess it is a little closer for you, but still...that's amazing! I can't wait to see the video. I *love* shooting landscapes with a long lens too - especially with a tripod. The compression is awesome, and you get such amazingly sharp photos!
To take photos with the camera almost touching the ground I use a L-Bracket, so I can use my tripod upsidedown but have my camera not in upsidedown position.
Comecei a seguir ontem e estou a gostar muito dos seus vídeos, estou a aprender muito, eu prefiro comentar em português, me sinto mais confortável na minha língua oficial
Heaps of insight. I have also found I don't use my tripod as much as it's heavy and bulky 3 KG and a pain to set up and pack away, and this literally just made me think I found a great one with this video! Unexpected when I was here to make my photos sharper 😂😅The shortcut with the legs, the weight, size and the super low angle just convinced me to make the swap. Don't worry I'll use the links when I do make my mind up to buy it though I'd wanna sell my one right now before that as $$$.
Thanks so much for watching!! Glad I could help. Yeah I used to not like using tripods years ago either because they were just way too heavy and clunky, it's so much nicer now having lighter options
She was unexpected, I truly did not expect her, or her effect on me, my heart, my mind, my feelings, she was the calming sound of the light, pitted-patter of drizzle on a January Thursday Morning, in my brutal destructive hurricane
Julia always takes the best photos. Her ability to adjust to different conditions is key to her sharp photography 📸.
Thank you so much!

Great examples, great video, great presenter. Semplicemente Giulia !!! Oh mia cara !
I just purchased the smallrig remote! Really highly recommend the little nugget of help.
Awesome stuff Julia. Lots of love from New Zealand ❤
Dear Julia, your content is great and it’s always a pleasure watching you. Thank you from Germany
Thank you, that makes me so happy to hear 😊
Amazing video as always with lots of great tips. Thank you so much Julia 💕
Relax watching this video plus it's full of knowledge
1:46 For DSLR cameras also makes sense to turn on mirror blocking, it prevents camera body from shaking a bit more. Thanks, Julia
Can you please expand on this? Thanks in advance ;-)

Thank you! Yesss, I think that one is often overlooked :)
This is a great video for me. I am having all sorts of noise and blur in my photos on my EOS R.
Very efficient and effective video -- as usual! Thank you for doing what you do.
Thank you 😊
nice tips and great photos...tnx
Awesome job ! Thanks!
Noticed the PM vnd been researching those super pricey but want it for intentional motion blur and video. Indecisive between mist or regular edition.

Omg you just answered so many questions from my last session at the beach! Thankyou 💕

Cheap lens, and crank up the saturation in the picture control settings and you will get colors
Interesting tripod, I'm going to have a look at it... The area that you are in looks a lot like where I live on the south coast of NSW Australia...
Can you make a video about how to properly expose images in different lighting conditions?
Excellent! Thank you for the video.
Super helpful 😊
Very informative and structured video, love your work, Also have one of Smallrig tripods, it is amazing one.
I like your videos ❤ best camera reviews and my favourite UA-camr ma'am ❤❤
hey julia, great vid as always. how did you set up your camera for the self portraits? interval shooting? or did someone trigger it remotely? THANKS!
Your first mistake is, not using your 2 sec self timer. Use a wireless remote you won't have any camera shake. It contacts by bluetooth.
Very beautiful place friend 😊😊❤❤❤
Always I h a help. Thank you ❤❤❤

Ulanzi f38 zero or small rig tripod can’t decide 😅

Question no.2.
She is using "interval shooting" features. She made some video about it, maybe u can search it.

I'm quite new to photography, so this was very helpful, thank you. And needing a travel tripod, this one looks ideal. Fantastic shots as always!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Does anyone know what the self timer settings are? How do you get it to refocus track the face once the shutter has been pressed on the a7iii?

What ND filter do you recommend? Just changed system, so I am in search of filter right now!
watching you. Thank you from INDIA
Great 👍 ma'am ❤ thank you so much
Informative video 🙏💯
What if I don’t have a tripod? How do I follow this tips?

Julia thanks 🦀
I love hearing you say “here” and “sure” with that accent. 😊 I put Manny Ortiz down for you. 😅
She is more beautiful than her pictures ❤❤❤❤😊
Julia I want you to know that you're awesome and things that you do for your community are very important 🙂
Thank you!!

Love the video but it seemed mostly an AD for the tripod :(

A cellphone will never be a camera, pointless
Cellphones are only for talking. No matter how expensive or advanced your cellphone is. Better use a DSLR.
Anyone else think their laptop screen was filthy 🤣

Holy shit dude 😂😂😂

Julia, your expose is always excellent but you talk too fast.
