Everyone likes it? I think your review of this product is the first on UA-cam. It's a newly released product...how would everyone like it if many know nothing about it. Even Smallrig's short on UA-cam was basically recreating shots and nothing about the product itself. It doesn't take a lot to come up with a good and more realistic title.
@@cosmashono7665 thanks for watching. When I created the title it was based on the IG post since August from Smallrig about this product. People were actually interested in a newer or lighter version and Smallrig came out with this product. I think the title is realistic, “why does everyone like it”. If they didn’t, negative comments would be a driving force and since you yourself don’t have a negative comment about the product, my assumption is that you were inquiring or inquisitive yourself. Therefore I created this video about the product. I hope that clarifies any misconception you may have come up with. Link: instagram.com/p/C-ps4ePzlnR/?igsh=cm1jNGxydWY0Nmpj
@@JonesCollectiveMedia Yes, some of us with a casual interest in shooting hoped for such a product. But like I said, there has been no practical detailed review about this product, including yours. How much power does it take? Can a simple 5-12V powerbank power it up to its full capacity? Or is it the case that like the other products some power sources are not enough for full functionality? Did you get any detailed info about this product from the Smallrig instagram post? People asked pertinent questions about this product on the UA-cam Short and none of those questions were answered. If everyone liked it, you would see a lot of rave on UA-cam and other media platforms already. So far, on UA-cam, all I can see is your review, and with no disrespect bro, it's not detailed enough.
@@cosmashono7665statements like that should have been asked initially as I saw posts from you on inquiring about the product but none of those questions were asked. Nonetheless if you had specific questions about the product since it’s not sponsored, you could have simply led with that. But to answer your question, the input voltage ranges from 5v to 18v. No I didn’t get any information from smallRig. As this was user generated based on use case. Also to add even on consumer sites such as Amazon, people are happy about this product as it completes what they were looking for. Is this device something you can see yourself using?
Hey thanks for posting this helpful video. Great to see it in action. I clicked, hoping you might say something about how it compares to MagicFIZ Wireless Follow Focus Basic Kit.
Unfortunately I didn’t get that device for a comparison. Going from the older version that Smallrig developed to this was the main focus. Ultimately it’s the same thing (magicfiz) except the fact that the motor is powered by battery vs usbc. I think that’s a big deal; but that’s based on preference. I do thank you for taking the time to watch! 🙌
hi, your videos are really good, just wanted to say that you audio is clipping a bit so maybe turn down the levels a bit on your mic or camera. one thing about youtube that no one seems to tell you is that bad audio but good video will reduce retention time and overall showing your video to less people. now i dont want to be that karen rambling on so, your videos are very good and entertaining
@@ridler-thomas-freeride thanks for watching. Those tips are very helpful. I think it had to do with mic placement. But either way I thank you for the constructive criticism , will definitely try to get it better in the future 🙏🏽
All the hardware to mount it comes inside the box. I mounted the motor to the rail system I have on my rig instead of using the rail and clamp that came with it. It made it easier to use. You just have to figure out which method works best for you. Since I use the cam on sticks it’s best for me that way.
@@drvzoneI personally didn’t want it to be mounted on the rig itself; but you have to purchase a clamp separately. Some people use a nato rail and a mount to the focus wheel to attach it to the rig itself. I have another video you can check out to see what I did with the focus wheel. Hopefully that helps. ua-cam.com/video/36R7OW82noo/v-deo.htmlsi=lFW0KwHEt5ESVbtC
@@Alminox actually there is a diffusion on it that is making it slightly soft. But thank you for noticing and/or questioning 👌🏾. I hope outside of that you enjoyed the video
@@JonesCollectiveMedia I liked the content itself very much. I do not believe this was due to diffusion. I believe, you simply shot at too open aperture, resulting on too shallow depth of field, because your fingers were in sharp focus, but your face and body were blurry.
Getting ready to shoot a wedding in a few weeks will be ordering. Thanks for the solid review
That’s what’s up! Let me know how it works out for you! Thanks for watching✌️
Thank you for this Video. Great Job👍👌
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching! ✌️
Is this the SmallRig MagicFIZ or is the FIZ the old model?

i can't find how it was intended to mount to the camera cage. no included hardware. no details anywhere. how are you mounting this to the rig?

Are you aware that you are out of focus for the entire video.. in a video about a focus pulling system.. The irony is strong with this one..
