My grandmother was Muslim who married my grandfather a Christian. She was from Afghanistan and my Grandfather a half black/ British met her in London. She told me that when she was younger that burqa did not exist until the 90s. She said it was used to disregards women's right and put fear in their own identity. Sadly that fear still remains in their upbringing and their influences today. They still can't break free. The conditioning has still remained. And they are still denied simple rights and controlled by cruel men. I'm glad my family broke free especially my great-grandfather who saw the worst of that country and left with his 4 daughters and one son.
True that. I respect whatever you wear; be it naked or fully clothed to the titer. But Sir!! please don't compromise my safety so you could exercise your rights. It is only A RIGHT if you assure the rest of the people around you -that you don't compromise their life and safety. (Show your identification and secure the others around you that you are not hiding weapons underneath. It is that simple.) Anyhow my grandmother was muslim from Afghanistan and she told me Burqa was mandated in the 90s. She said it was to control women and take their identity. She wrote essays and letters about it. She was an advocate for women. My family moved in London in the 80s. Glad my great-grandfather left there. I'm happy to be living with rights and without fear. I'm also happy that I have a diverse family who respect everyone's culture and traditions. Thanks to my great-grandfather who put love in our hearts and never hate. Anyhow my grandmother all her life had advocated for women there to have their rights in society. She also helped women who often seek asylum from the cruel regime. Thankfully there are women who broke free and hopefully soon they will all find their voices again. Sadly that I could not follow her footstep because I'm only a mere Dentist. I could only hope one with more courage and fighting spirit like my grandmother will rise to take the mantle. If there is present now. I pray them good luck to a very challenging task

13bigbangtheory it’s not just terrorism, its any sort of crimes. How do you file a police report on someone covered from head to toe? “Well, they had a black burkqa, and that’s all I could see. Seemed to be about 5’10.” That’s about all you can say. Speaking on personal experience, a gang of about 7 of these people dressed head to toe went up to my dads car and stole the logo. We were in a fast food restaurant and went out to confront them... and they said, “ oh no, no it’s okay, it an old model... it ok don’t be alarmed”, in broken English. Obviously it’s just a car logo, but I’m sure my dad would have rather had it back than had it ripped off. The reality is these people do commit lots of crimes, and specifically increase the number of rapes (as seen in the UK in the last few years), as a result of a difference of culture. What if that gang had committed some actual note worthy crime? What are we supposed to say? I think they should ban all of these head scarfs collectively, or at least the ones that completely cover the face or most of the face. It also doesn’t seem like that would prevent terrorist attacks, so “protecting our citizens” is also a stretch. Lastly, in this case, it is not so much about offending Muslims by banning it as it is not allowing them to dress accordingly to their religion, which is very important to some of them.

As she should
It is that simple.)
Anyhow my grandmother was muslim from Afghanistan and she told me Burqa was mandated in the 90s.

So I’m okay with it but some people do take advantage of that Muslim covering and do bad things, so I see the intimidation side too. As for facial reactions, she can still take off the burqa to her family members, husband, and woman in the general public. It’s just hiding her beauty from other random men, remaining pure in her identity, talked to with respect by others for her personality and not by her looks, and never being catcalled. It’s actually empowering. There’s a verse in the Quran - someone is holding two pieces of chocolates, one in each hand. One piece was wrapped and the other one was unwrapped and bare in their hands. So which piece of chocolate would you take? The wrapped one of course! That’s why Muslim woman are covered or “wrapped” to preserve their beauty by preventing ego and sustaining humbleness in this world. If an average person walked into a store wearing a mask, wouldn't everyone think he was robbing the place & get shot? Imagine if everyone wore masks?
Almighty Lord Leoshes there would be no problems because you cant smoke while wearing a mask
Yea, you probably would; Everyone who plans to rob tends to wear a mask, or hood. Most people who wear burqkas do no harm, and aren't terrorists. So I don't know what your point is
If i were to wear a mask out on the streets, the cops would try to arrest me for something. If i have to deal with it, then everyone else should to.
+ i am tired of people being allowed to do things i am not able to just because their imaginary friend says they can.
It would actually be a good thing too, considering all of these headscarfs just objectify women of these cultures.
Almighty Lord Leoshes
Its very cleary not a mask, and only women wear them, I don't suppose you're a woman though, so why does it apply to you?
I'll say it again, I've been calling for national burqa day for years, can you imagine the chaos if we all walked in to banks and tried to get money out or got stopped by police?
Covid masks remained in practice until 2023. People still shopped, traveled, banked, laughed, talked and not even 1% of us felt any real issue with anyone covered. Not sure what your problem is.

All in all its just a matter of constructive ideology that u have made which doesnt make sense,,,
Valid points for suspicion
1) no person can go to a public conference when they arent known there hence its suspicious,
2) the nature of the burqa can be abused and that might lead to someone making a suspicous act in disguise, hence a suspicion can be made,,,
3)it would be wiered and suspicious for an unkown person in disguise i.e in burqa to hold a briefcase and put it in the public conference and move out.
We can conclude that its the suspicion that made pple run and not because simply someone was wearing a burqa.
