Amazing video. Thank you so much. I am writing a book on two soldiers and trying to help them reconstruct and confirm their memories of what they could see from up top decades ago. This was invaluable. Thanks!
Went thru with Alpha company July 89....cat 5/6 every damn day! So, they moved up our runs in the morning around 4 am, still was cat 5/6! I think we had around 600 plus soldiers maybe 700 that started. But, after those killer runs with a meat wagon on the rear end, we ended up graduating around 3 to 400. Man they were falling out like flies, from the runs and to all of the not so PLFs that were being performed. Man those runs.......A Black Hat doesn't play around, don't sing or clap and watch what happens.... Airborne to all that made/makes it through to LEG forever for the ones that don't!!! 3 jumps C141 starlifter and 2 with the C130s, my first night jump was a real night jump...not a dawn jump lol. Airborne/Rigger 43E.....All my packs open up!!!!!!
Thank you for your service. My father went to Fort Benning Georgia when WW2 broke out. He was I. the army airforce and was a crew chief on The B 17 bomber known as The. Flying Fortress.
I went through Airbone school in 94. Was stationed at Benning 93-97. I spent many weekends drinking beer and sneaking into the airplanes on the ground and climbing the tower…
Graduated november 1965. Then to Vietnam with the "All the Way Brigade" (1st Brigade, First Air Cavalry, Airmobile). Then back to Benningto Harmony Church.
Sure looks a lot different than when I went through Jump School in 1963. The 34 foot tower look much more modern, and dare I say not so rickety! I would love it if you encluded some video of trainees going through their paces on the towers. All the way Sir! Airborne!
+Richard Troxel I see my barracks in the back ground. (gray buildings) I was there in Oct 66 thru April 67) O.C.S. Ran around that Airborne track to many times. LOL
+Jack Frost When I arrived in April of 1963 the airborne school barracks were over a mile away in old WW2 wooden buildings. Had my 19th birthday during Tower Week (celebrated with 20 push-ups) and the following week we jumped from old C119s. Of course we ran everywhere there were never any slow marches. We had a heat wave and had to start training around 0400 and finish by noon. I loved/hated every minute of my time there. In Sept. 66 I was discharged four days before enrolling at the University of New Mexico. Airborne All the Way!
I enlisted in Jan 1966, went to OCS Commissioned April 67. Went to the 519th M.P. Bn stationed at Ft. Dix, for the next 2 years was stationed up and down the East coast. Never went to Nam. Lucky me, Kid I grew up with did, he was hurt bad. oh well memories, Ft. Benning sure have changed. God Bless are Troops, and America tc
😂😂😂😂😂 You Americans love to sugar coat the gayyynesssss of your airborne training. Probably the easiest airborne wings training school in the world that I ever completed .. it’s so easy. Love from Winston Churchills Parachute Regiment UK , 2 PARA You’ll always, and always will be … the infants 🎉🎉🎉❤️❤️❤️ Love you guys ❤
I was with the 82nd Airborne Devision Military Police, back in the 1960s. A Navy SEAL once asked me to come down to him so he could kill me. I'm still here. Airborn All The Way!
Once upon a time in my young life. A co. 1/507th Class # 8-86 Roster # 749 Nov-Dec 1986. My unit was A co. ( Moatengators) 1/508th INF (AIRBORNE) Republic of Panama 1989-90.
Graduated Airborne 1983. All I remember about it is we started with over 250 men. 12 women. Graduated 82 men and 2 women. 1 man died. Snapped his neck on a landing. Several got screwed up during jump week. And had to be medevacked. Its no joke. Its the real deal.
I remember the night jump. We landed and they yelled at us to form up. I remember helicopter after helicopter landing with red interior lights on picking up the wounded. I was shocked by all the accidents. They freaked instead of remembering their training.
I graduated from jump school on June 20,1969. It was not really that difficult. The Black Hats did a good job but with Viet Nam going on jump school just graduated as many men as they could.
Hey Todd, let me know if you are ok with us using a few seconds of your footage in a video that we are working on, on the history of parachutes. We will credit your name in the video, of course. If you would like to send us a message, our email is in the "About" page of our channel [only visible on desktop]. Thanks!
C119 was a ride like nothing else I experienced. Hell of take off; rough ride and you want to exit strong to avoid bouncing of side. Shortly after i finished jump school one crash on take off killing all aboard.

5 JUMPS OUT OF A C-119 FLYING BOX CAR 1969
I got 4 in 69’ and 1 from a 141. All the 119’s leaked hydraulic fluid and 1 had a minor fire in route to the dz.
C119 was a ride like nothing else I experienced. Hell of take off; rough ride and you want to exit strong to avoid bouncing of side. Shortly after i finished jump school one crash on take off killing all aboard.
Went through there in 1986.
My Levi is here training. I am so proud of him. SO PROUD.
My dad jumped from this tower in 1947.
