    The intro bit where you talk about the car and it’s rivals etc is acc so interesting. Great video as always! I like how you review the more rare specs such as this.

    Perfect review. Definitely a “continent crusher” grand tourer. I’ve taken 4-hour road trips, arrived at my destination and felt refreshed and full of energy. It is not a canyon carver, though it is competent, it isn’t nimble. You’ll always feel good on a mountain road, just not like a sports car would make you feel.

    Addicted to your reviews, the layout is fantastic, easy to follow and concise. Would be brilliant to hear your opinions on a E60 diesel, i.e. the 535d or 530d. I think they’re brilliant things for the money they demand these days, would be great to know how they stack up against the W204 6cyl diesels!

    Great video as always. I’ve noticed something though. With this car you run the 30-70 by starting at 20 so the cars in full swing and boosting where say the REVO Cupra was sat at 30 then full throttle applied so it sort of had to get up its skirt and go. I think with a bit of a run that SEAT could have been quicker still. Not nit picking just an observation.

    On the spraying wd40, silicon grease is usually a better alternative. This is a small detail on a great video. It’s easy to be a critic.

    Just completed a 50 mile + journey from Thurso in my 335D Euro 6 and returned 56.5 mpg in comfort mode. This was by driving steadily at between 50 and 60 mph and avoiding hard acceleration. I wouldn't expect to get a result like this driving in Southern England though!

    Thanks Tom, great review. Lovely interior in these especially compared to BMW (opinions always personal taste of course) but I wonder what residuals would be like versus a 4 series coupe and what they would be like to live with, comparatively. I’m currently split between an E400 coupe and a 44Oi of the 2017/18 era. The gran coupe with the extra doors is a nice niche offering not offered by Merc.

      I'd go for the 440i gran coupe if you want something sporty and the E400 if you want something fast but very comfortable.

    Will the E53 amg coupe be a bit more stable in sport plus?

    • @mohawk5010
      @mohawk5010 4 місяці тому +1

      I have an E450, and I looked up the replacement suspension. Apparently, the E450 and E53 have the exact same model number components, so AFAIK no.

    Can you give an opinion on which is more reliable?
    BMW 435d or…
    Mercedes E450 Petrol?

    • @J777A1
      @J777A1 27 днів тому

      All of them are reliable, if you take care of it, it’ll last a lifetime.. if you trash it, it’ll break.. just like anything else

      I've had both. Have a 2020 E450 cabriolet at the moment. Personally I much prefer the E450. It's in a different league when it comes to refinement, class and quality feel. The BMW was much much more poised on the back roads, but put the Merc in Sports+ and it bloody shifts. They are both quick, but the Merc just feels so much more composed in a straight line. I had a C43 cabriolet between the 2 and that was great fun. It was tough chopping that in. I chose the E450 over the E53 because there just didn't seem to be enough in it to pay another £10k-£15k on top, with the exception of the exhaust. AMG just seem to have perfected V6 exhausts. The new AMG 2.0 litre 4 pots just seem horribly lame in comparison to the pops and bangs of the 3.0 V6. It's horses for courses, but I'm a Merc convert now, having had BMW's for years (including a complete hooligan M6). Reliability wise, I had a couple of electrical dramas with BMWs that I've not had with the Mercs. One thing I will say is that fuel economy on the E450 is pretty dire, for such a modern car. The obviously BMW wins that argument hands down.

    not a v6 (E400) this is the I6 (E450), different engine.

      This is the V6, the e450 I6 model was introduced in the UK in 2021. Only car that got it in 2019 was the E53 AMG

    The biggest reason for someone to buy a coupe is to struggle if you rly want to buy a car with 2 doors buy it with 2 seats there is no reason to buy a 4 seats car 2dr if you go to a meeting or to work in any case you leave your jacket or your bag in the back seats you will struggle by folding and unfold the seats which is stupid i am not calling you stupid guys i am just saying that the situation is ridicules it happened to me i have a 2dr coupe car and some times you are drained or tired and leaving something on the back seats and after trying to get it it's exhausting you will see, or get a Mercedes Cls is sporty fast looks the same as coupe but has 4dr
