Got a 430d this week buzzing with it
The market for something fun, fast and entertaining for under 30 grand is MASSIVE! ( currently looking). You have everything from an I20N ( new) through to an M5 and every hot hatch from A45 AMG to Toyota GR Yaris. A 440i is a good shout but it’s in a big field of contenders for that accolade.
Great review - thoroughly enjoyed watching it
As always the intro is a bop
an f generation like this, with the touch head unit, and apple carplay activated, as well as cruise control, is all you need in a car. pair that with an amazing engine, and it is an almost perfect package
What a brilliant review! I’m sold on this car! Only thing that would be nice is some exterior driving shots👍
Great video as always, may I give you a suggestion of what might be interesting to add into the videos, try driving it with TC on and then TC off, same bit of road, like the one from one roundabout to the other with the tunnel.. would be interesting to see how it compares.
Would choose a 435D over the 440i in terms of best bang for buck. Rapid, reliable and super good mpg. Would’ve grabbed this had I known about the Grand Coupe 4 series but cannot complain with my 335D
Most fun car for under 30K? Absolutely not, best bang for buck? I guess it depends on what people want from their car, but this is definitely a contender
What would you replace it with for fun?
@@Kraken2681994you can get m cars for that money. E92 m3s sound amazing and still has the performance
bmw 440i or audi s5?
How’s the room ?
How does this compare in responsiveness compared to 530e, when both are stock?
@@runnidgaming0840 Even though the 530e has the electric motor the 440i is deffo quicker to respond
I've been binge watching your videos recently and i honestly can't say if i've seen you drive a manual yet ? 😂
A loooong time ago i did. Most cars are autos these days sadly 😢
How does this compare to the m140i considering its weight and size? I’m stuck between the two.
Better car in every way, but if your priority is based on pure speed get the M140i
@@ARDEN440i didnt u have a vauxhall b4 mate, recognise ur name from dmos comment
@@harbzsquadings2277 Yes, I did, but it's been sold now. Have a couple of videos of it on YT shorts
@@ARDEN440i ah alright
Just bought a 430d gran coupe for 10k. Plenty of power and fuel economy. Cant really justify paying almost double that for a 440i which will be twice on tax, twice on fuel and higher insurance costs.
Might as well save a bit more and go for an F80 M3 if you're gonna go for an F30 340i.
@@ronniep9272 very true. Theres a bigger price difference between 430d-440i than 440i-m4
@@DleguaL I'm gonna sell my F30 330D which I've had for 7 years and get an F80 M3 as I do very low miles now. The 30D engine is great, especially if you remap it. The main reason I'm looking to switch over to the M3 is the handling, it's like a go kart. Don't drive one, it will stay in your head 😜
Would you have this or a s5 sportback?
@@ELITESMOK3Y I’d have this. S5 has a nicer interior but the handling on this is definitely more fun.
As a 440i owner, I’d have to say best daily hands down for the price. Comfort, practicality and sportiness all-in-one.
What mpg do you get driving around town sensibly
@@callumhollinger5416 18mpg but I do mainly city driving, on a 2-3 hour motorway drive best I got was 40mpg
@@jahed_440i is 18 mpg a mix between spirited and normal driving
@@callumhollinger5416 yes it translates to around 200 miles from a full tank & I’m also stage 2+
@jahed_440i that's not bad that mate considering ur driving styles are mixed and ur pushing 470bhp impressive
This or a 2017 bmw 340i?
@@crazyforiegner2 I’d have this, I prefer the looks, plus it has a genuinely good boot.
How did the 440i compare to the 540i
@@callumhollinger5416 440i is sportier and 540i is more comfortable.
Would suggest the 340i instead. They have a huge cult following in the US as 1stockf30 started.
I’ve read you can tell if the car has adaptive suspension by the chassis options in the menu
Yeah when switching the modes there's the configure sub menu with drivetrain+chassis, drivetrain only or chassis only options. There's definitely a difference between the modes. Comfort is bouncy as anything but useful on long journeys.
440i's do sting people with running costs, they do look tempting though at the price they are.
May I ask you what specific running costs you’re referring to? Not that it’s a cheap car/model to maintain/service, but I honestly just want to learn more . Hence y I thought I might as well ask you this question.
All the best
@@marcelforrelI'm sure he's talking about fuel costs.
I, as a nineteen year old, have been swayed by the F10 M5. Give me 20k (and maybe another 10k for insurance lmao) and that's what I'd buy. I might also kms buuuuut there's always eco pro mode
I actually think this is one of the worst bang for buck cars right now.
I was looking for this car until I realised a good spec with fairly low miles (60-70k) is around £20k!
With that money, you could get a 17 plate Audi S5, Mercedes C43, Golf R Mk7.5, Audi S3 2017/18, A45 AMG, Cupra 300 and many more!!!
Or a 540i
And why would you have any of those over this?? Pretty sure it’s the best of that bunch…
