VAN LIFE CONFESSIONS | the reality of van life is that it can be taxing on you to constantly be on the move, planning the next step and being aware of all the correct documentation/visas/etc you require to travel in a van through continents and countries. While most weeks we can take things in stride we've been feeling a little overwhelmed lately by the demand of van life in Europe especially after our van break-in last year and even more so after finding out that we are illegally driving in Spain. We always want to remain transparent with you so this week we share some of these highs and lows.

12:42 he's telling his colleague that yesterday you already paid a fine for the same reason. You've got lucky to find a nice cop! Due to excessive SAFETY requirements is really easy to drive illegally here in Spain
Yes, we are lucky to have had the second cops go easy on us!
Zolen I was so impressed with the quality of driving in Spain and never got stopped but had my Intl. DL. Just in case. I wish someone had taught me cambio de centido before I ran all over Madrid! But, I figured it out I was stressing. Thank you God for giving me a great since of direction and maps, signage Is not good. I understand that licensing, insurance registration road tax, etc is extremely expensive which limits private transportation.

I’m headed out on a 100 day 10 country trip in March. I’ve had Intl. drivers permit before, but mostly didn’t find them necessary. I guess I’ll be getting one now. Better safe than sorry. Thanks for the heads up, and sorry you guys had to deal with this.
Richard Savage yes, better safe than sorry for sure!! We were in the same boat as you as we’ve had them in the past and never been asked for them... even when renting cars abroad etc! It was a lesson for us this week so happy to hear you can learn from our mistake 😊... PS enjoy your trip! Sounds INCREDIBLE!!

I am a dutch student living in Seville, Spain for my internship. Seeing how diffrent the culture is here makes me want to travel more and more! I can’t untill I get my own camper van so I can travel around in Europe!

I got many challenges like this . It’s like anythings are against me , but eventually , just stayed calm and positive . I did get through . I hope you guys will be stronger after many incidents like this . I mean you are in troubles which means you are leveling up your life . Crazy words from me , please forgive me if i offended anyone .
i think one of the thing that never seizes to amaze me is the amount of people living a very similar lifestyle to you. im shocked by how many fellow van lifers there are in your travels

I have to admit. I’ve been following you both for some time now, back to the first build and we’ll under 100k. Everything that you’ve chosen to share with us has been truly inspiring, so inspiring that I just recently purchased my first small travel trailer (something that already works with my current set up) and I’ve never been so thrilled to start something new. You can never be prepared enough for any new journey in life, but watching your videos has definitely given me a head start. I’m “facing my fears and seeking discomfort” ...just a tad. Great following you and your adventures once more, after Christmas, but alarmed at seeing you taking passengers on board without seatbelts. That’s illegal in UK, and surely the same in Europe. If those cops stopped you with your friends on board you’d be in a much bigger heap of trouble, I’m sure. Aren’t you aware of this?

Hey Eamon and Bec, I'm new to your channel. I think it's great! I would never live in a van, but I discovered your entertaining story and I really enjoy your personalities. I would like to share one impression with you because I feel bad that you got robbed and it seems "forces" are conspiring against your goodness. After watching several of your entertaining videos, it seems that your trip through Spain has been wrought with knuckle head locals... except for your friends obviously and that last cop. I've lived in Spain and fluent in spanish, and at the risk of being negative I came away not trusting too many locals there. Thievery, price gouging and rudeness is unfortunately always an issue. Way more than any other european country I've lived in. I now you guys are totally Zen, so sorry if you disagree. Denmark is really cool! Thanks for your upbeat videos. Happy trails!

I had some very odd reactions to your vid this week.........starting with "eeeek, no way, no how, how the hell is that fun?!?!" with the wire-walking. And then I saw Sen and thought ""Gadget John was right about Alex keeping the puppy AND now I also know she's called Suki!" Alex will have no news to impart to me in his next upload! Apart from the fact that he's been sheared, obviously. And then "Oh my god, how did they get there so quickly - I shall be watching them on TV at nine this evening!" when Bea and Theo appeared as I watched their Sunday blog immediately before yours and they were just gathering up Gingey to set off for Tarifa.

Not that I am going to be driving overseas, but thank you for that tidbit about the driver's license! That sucks!!! You'd think having a driver's license would be enough, who cares from what country, driving is driving. What a bummer, that was a lot of $$ Loved this video especially the hook up with Theo and Bea!
