I still remember starting engage meeting lumera and just mentally sighing knowing I was going to watch her die very soon. Why can’t we get a parent to and important character that doesn’t die almost instantly. At least let them join for a bit to make their death not that obvious, or make it a condition to have the support up high so they somehow survive.
I mean the start of sacred stones while not as early death as marth's you get news that eiphram and eirika's father died when renais got invaded. Leaving the siblings with no parents pretty early in the game.... Marth beats them by having a dead father at the very start I guess.

Here’s a quick and funny question. Who’s had the most dead parents? Out of any Fire Emblem character? If we count resurrections, adoption, and stepparents, I would imagine Corrin is up there. At least six of his parents died in his time. Another character off the top of my mind is Nino, who had six parent deaths. Two of her birth parents, and four from her adopted parents (three of which she could cause herself). With so many dead parents, it’s no wonder it’s so well known as a gag.
If you suck really bad at the game, Leif is a contender, he canonically lost 3 parental figure and you can lose 2 more in FE4 and FE5 losing both Quan and Ethlyn (birth parents) losing Lachesis, his surrogate mother (in FE4, she was rumoured turned to stone in the Yied Desert, final fate unconfirmed, however Kaga's notes said that she was part of a resistance to save the children in the child hunt, and eventually reunited with Delmud and Nanna after the events of FE4. might be abandoned because Kaga's notes had canonical pairings) If you are bad, you can lose Finn (his guardian) in-game FE4 or FE5 You can also lose Eyvel/Brigid (adopted mother) in FE5. I supposed if you suck in the game, you could make Seliph lose all his parental figures as well, but I don't think you can kill off Aideen, only Oifey and Shannan, which makes him 1 short of Leif

Early in genealogy, Sigurd mentions to Ethlyn how thankful he was to have her around after their mother died, and when he leaves seliese, he thanks Lewyns mother for being the mother he never had
31:49 I mean to be fair Lilith dies in 2 of 3 routes and the only reason she survived in Revelations is because the plot just completely forgot about her existence after the route split, which honestly feels like a fate worse than death.
They say you die twice. Once when you die and again when everyone forgets about you. Looks like Lilith skipped the first part. Both her deaths in the other paths are badly executed (literally one shot by a random Faceless), so yeah, she got done pretty badly.

I hope this is proof to any new players to NEVER get attached to a main characters parent in a Fire Emblem game... I mean, Engage had only just announced Lumera as Alears mother, when the betting began on how many chapters she would make it... What's really funny though is that the new main character of Shez in Three Hopes also has dead parents, but if you do everything right, Jeralt survives and fight with your army alongside Byleth! So in the alternate universe setting of Three Hopes, Jeralt makes it all the way through, since Byleth is demoted to a side character, so gets to live!
I feel like you could safely assume Micaiah and Chrom’s parents are all dead due to their siblings being in positions of royalty despite being young. Sanaki is a 10 year old and when Emmyryn “dies”, Chrom take her place, and he’s barely an adult himself.

Chrom and lissa were acknowledged to be raised by their older sister who took exalt at a very young age, assuming it’s based on lineage and age (as chrom takes over for her rather than lissa so that can be assumed) it would be confusing that they would have a living mother and was never mentioned so I’m pretty sure it’s safe to assume their dead, as assuming she was alive creates tons of plot questions

Even if she not his biological mother, Leif says that Eyvel was like a mother for him and because she can be saved in the chapter 24x, she can also be considered like a living parent if she survive in the end of Thracia 776. So we can says Leif is a lucky boy because in the end, he has not just a adoptive living mother, a sister and because Eyvel turns out to be Brigid, he also had a 2 half-sisters and one half-brother. A big happy familly, indeed. And like Roy and Eliwood, Leif doesn't have great stat but this is compensated by the fact that he can celebrate the victory at the end with a parent alive.
To be fair Leif already lost 3 parental figure, (Quan, Ethlyn and Lachesis (though Kaga's notes says Lachesis survived)). p/s You could potentially add a few more adopted siblings depending on who you pair Finn up with, also how would you define Arion-Leif's relationship ?
Correct, we just unfortunately never learn enough about Misaha's daughter/Micaiah and Sanaki's mom to know the exact timeline of what happened between the time of the Serenes Massacre and Sanaki's birth, and what happened to her (probably the senate, lol).

Claude is actually the winner here. He IS a main character, a bit odd you didn't include the house leaders. But it is confirmed by Claude and I guess Count Bergleaz that Claude's father is alive. And Claude and Balthus' support confirms his mother
Shame that Lumera tried to speedrun her way to the top of the dead parents list. I think it would have maybe done wonders for the storey and her character if she at least sticked around till chapter 11. Making a heroic sacrifice against Sombron and the four hounds at the chapel there would have given her a more dignified ending and a better explanation why the group could just run out of their trap.
I've never really thought too deeply about how many parents died over the course of the series, mainly because parents of main characters dying is not just common in Fire Emblem but many other characters. When you look at the world of Fire Emblem, it makes sense why parents would be at risk of getting killed as many have significant influence or power. If Greil had survived his battle with the BK, the story would've been quite different. I do definitely feel Ninian was the intended wife for Eliwood, for obvious reasons, and because it explains why Roy's mother is no longer present in FE6, as Nils stated she wouldn't live for long if she stayed in Elibe. Also glad someone noticed that Garon was dead prior to Fates, for some reason that's something that people don't realize. Even with it pretty much being directly stated. Also interesting, his death takes place after Arete's (which partially implies that her death is what leads to Garon's possession by Anankos). Great video though, Fire Emblem is fucking depressing.

What can I say, the Marquesses of Pherae are just built different. Thus making Eliwood the strongest lord in Fire Emblem due to surviving becoming the parent of a main character.
How far along is the manga? I hear Chapter 11 cited as the best place for a heroic sacrifice, so I guess more specifically I should be asking if it's past that (or its analogue) and, if so, if there's still an obvious way for her to die.
@@randomguy-tg7ok it’s at 10 chapters rn I believe and they’re in the Brodie portion of the game so there’s still plenty of time for Lumera to die especially given how much it’s deviating from the games story but I don’t see a way that chapter 11 will be where she dies in the manga cause I just don’t see why Lumera would even be there at all on a narrative level other than to die which I don’t believe they’ll do anyway, if they wanted Lumera to die early on then they’d have just done what the game did, that’s just my thoughts on it though. If I’m proven wrong and she does die in chapter 11 then I’ll end up looking pretty dumb lol
Lol, I've noticed this occurring. I am hoping for something new in the next series. For me, FE Fates' paternal death, had a biggest tug of the heart. Just wish there were more chapters before the death to make more of a connection like FE PoR. FE SoV had a great storyline with Alm parental figure. Full voice acting the made the final conversation between the two more impactful.
While it is a pretty funny meme, it should be noted that not every parental death serves as a motivation, or the catalyst for the protagonist to act. In many cases the protagonist was already in the process of doing their thing. Byleth as an example was already investigating Those Who Slither in the Dark before they murdered Jeralt. Obviously this also applies to characters who's parents were already dead or were evil.

I personally have a triple Venn diagram of fathers that physically appear in FE with the categories: Deployable, Dastard, and Dead. Note that I only apply this to the dads we actually see, so those mentioned only in supports and backstory don't apply. I used to think that the only exception to this was Eliwood prior to the release of Blazing Blade, until I learned that he's actually playable in the bonus modes of Binding Blade.
I am just going to cover the three house leaders: Edelgard: Anselmas/Patricias death is not quite certain. She is presumed dead after the tragedy of duscur, but some evidence suggests she made it out alive. It is not clear what her faith is, but one can assume she died sometime before the game (Cornelia mentions she is dead in three hopes, but that is a different timeline). Emperor Ionius IX is only seen in one cutscene where he mentions that he 'does not have much time left' and I believe there is one line in the game that mentions that he died. So it can be reasonably believed that he dies at some point during the time skip. Dimitri: Birth mother (I am not sure she is ever given a name) dies to the plague of faerghus before the game King Lambert is killed in the tragedy of Duscur before the game. Dimitris step-mother is Anselma/Patricia Claude: Both Tiana von Riegan and the King of Almyra are still alive by the end of the game.
Even the Warriors MCs can't catch a break either lol We just outright never see Rowan and Lianna's dad (and their mom is presumed dead for a chunk of the game) Shez's biological parents are never known and his adoptive mom is dead before the events of the game too
corrin: if I have a nickel every time I kill my parents, I would have… 3 for garon on each route, 1 for anankos, 1 for mikoto, 2 if you count the accident, 1 for sumeragi, gaining a total of… 7? Which, is a lot more than your average people.
Fire emblem path of radiance and radiant dawn : Ike's friend Soren have both his parents appearing. one dying in the first game the other being alive at the end of the second one.

Unpopular opinion you should've included the 3 house lords (edelgard, claude and dimitri), alfonse and kiran. the 3 house lords definetly have large portions of hte game revolving around them and there are arguments to be made that heroes is a mainline game despite being on mobile.
Well in heroes, there is Gustav. Who gets killed soon after being introduced in book 3. Then you kill him again as a zombie. Then you rekill zombie Gustav in book 6. No one acknowledges it, despite Alfonse claiming a little before that he killed his father. Henriette lives. For now. this may change in current book since they dragged her back into relevance. Dimitri's parents are notoriously dead. Edelgard's mom, who is also Dimitri's, is presumably dead before the story. Her dad was alive at least before timeskip, but probably died after. Claude's parents are fine, seemingly. Only you can answer the question on Kiran's parents

And if it did, it would have been inconsistent due to how much AM and AG love to chop and change details in general for no clear reason. Ionius is implied dead. He makes it clear in WC that he hasn’t got much time left. With there being a line in CF which canonical say he dies. While in SB, we know he also still dies through Edelgard support with Bernadette.
I was actually thinking of something along these lines, but in the other direction, how many of them actually die. And welp It's definitely an overused trope thats for sure man Shoutout to ike because we see both his parents, though admittedly his mom only in flashback. But at least we see, and heck she's even story relevant somewhat I mean there's a lot of small details here and there, like marth's mother, etc. Its funny because after you put fates and engage side by side its really funny, the mother dies in the main story early on, then is revived and you have to fight her, and then you fight the father in the final chapter. Roy and eliwood is kinda hilarious, though roy's mother is already passed before the story starts, and the role of dead parent goes to lilina and hector instead. While for eliwood, elbert still dies yeah, though his is a bit different since its onscreen, but not quite as dramatic as some of the others. Arguably could have added a few more characters to the list, like the 3h trio as well

Going to add Alfonse and Sharena, Rowan and Liana, and Shez because I care: Alfonse and Sharena (Heroes): Their father was killed by Hel in Book 3. Their mother is still alive as of Book 8’s 3rd chapter. Rowan and Liana (Warrior): Their father died prior to the events of the game and their mother is survives. Shez (Three Hopes): His/Her parents died when they were little. They had an adopted mother who passed prior to the game. Also, for Rowan and Liana being the most forgettable lords, ironically enough, their some of the only ones with a remaining parent still alive
Byleth isn't the main character of Hopes though, and whether Jeralt lives is due to the player's decisions. Shez, on the other hand, loses three parents before the game even starts (birth parents and adoptive mother)

This is an amazing video your editing is superb and your narration is also very well done, I also like that Seliph and Leif's parents are the main reason they even start their journey, because, not only they want revenge but also want to take over Alvis, Fates families are also some pretty weird and messed up stuff because of the weird connections it has.
For more variety I feel you should have included very important ones like Lilina, Ryoma, Xander (tho both ended up covered here) Azura, Edelgard, Dimitri, Claude, Alfred, Diamant, Ivy and Timerra

For anyone who hasn’t played fates-whenever what he’s saying cuts off with a sound effect he’s saying the name of a country in the game called “Valla”. In the game, if anyone talks about valla outside of it, they instantly die, which is the game’s excuse for revelations having a wildly different story from the other two. It’s such a silly plot beat it’s become a joke across the whole fan base to censor it, like typing out V*lla or bleeping it out in videos like this
4:30 we get a tiny bit of information about Micaiah’s parents near the middle of Path of Radiance, when Sanaki says that they were as devoted to ending Laguz slavery as Misaha was. But yeah, that’s all we ever learn about them.

Chrom is easily best FE lead and he is both lead with dead dad, and actual dead dad. Why are they this way? But also, Olivia is easily best mom for Lucina, so to think she is also dead and Lucina doesn’t get enough time with her as much as her momma’s boy brother did is really tragic.
I have a fan theory that whatever illness killed Hector's parents also infected Hector, but he survived and became a transmissable carrier. A majority of the people close to Hector (his brother, his best friend, his wife, and his best friend's wife) all either die young of illness or get very sick to the point that he can't fight in a major war. I know disease is probably pretty common in the FE verse but the sheer scale of how many people around Hector get sick I feel like something is going on
FE would somewhat have a running story of parents dying at some point of the game. I've recently just gotten FE Engage and felt Lumera's death was rushed. I didn't also expect her cutscene to be longer than expected.
Honourable mention goes out to Engage's Seforia for being a royal parent who survives being threatened by the Big Bad. Dishonourable mention goes out to Engage's Morion for lamp shading the everloving daylights out of this trope.
If you include Heroes, there's another dead parent in there. One more is alive for now but they're still releasing story so maybe wait and see on that one.
Allow me to fill in some characters from the spinoffs, just to appease my perfectionism. In Heroes, Alfonse and Sharena's father, Gustav, dies in Book 3 protecting his son from Hel's curse. Their mother, Henriette, is still alive, but the opening trailer for Book 8 implies she might not be for long. In Warriors, Rowan and Lianna's unnamed father is already dead before the game, likely due to illness. Their mother, Yelena, however, surprisingly makes it through to the ending. In Three Hopes, I honestly have no clue about Shez's biological parents, but their adoptive mother is dead.

I think Elincia is much more focused on in Path Of Radiance and the one cutscene/chapter she gets in Radinat Dawn is just fan service at this point, so if you include her, include her next to Ike.
Path of Radiance spoiler ahead about some hardly necessary plot thing. Micaiah's parents are probably dead as it is stated the before Sanaki, her grandmother ruled and Sanaki was crowned as a child, so they can't have just been there as whoever heard Ashera would be next to be apostle. The one who heard Ashera is dead but the other is still alive... so probably one of them are dead... not sure but I think for the sake of this video, unknown is fine.
I remember being disappointed by Jeralt's death in Three Houses. I kept thinking that I was surprised he made it that long so when he did die there was almost no impact. Even though he was one of the better developed parent characters. Seriously, 3H did a lot to subvert FE tropes, why not that one too? Jeralt living to the end of the game would have been the best plot twist. I still get choked up at Greil's death every time though.

I believe only in the future past dlc, is the Avatar able to hold Grima back for the kids to get a killing blow in. Since that's another timeline with a "younger Grima", Future Robin is propably dead before the final chapter in the main timeline.

I believe she is just the default one set up because Chrom has to get married in order to have Lucina but not necessarily canonical. It’s possible because as far as I’m aware there is no mention of his wife in other games tho that could mean it’s made vague on purpose both for it not really being relevant and letting the fans interpret it how they want.

What's really funny though is that the new main character of Shez in Three Hopes also has dead parents, but if you do everything right, Jeralt survives and fight with your army alongside Byleth! So in the alternate universe setting of Three Hopes, Jeralt makes it all the way through, since Byleth is demoted to a side character, so gets to live!
Only in the good ending routes of Three Hopes. In the bad ending routes Jeralt and Byleth both die.
I feel like you could safely assume Micaiah and Chrom’s parents are all dead due to their siblings being in positions of royalty despite being young. Sanaki is a 10 year old and when Emmyryn “dies”, Chrom take her place, and he’s barely an adult himself.
I vaguely recall in radiant dawn sanaki explicitly states her mother is dead. Don't think it ever mentions what happened to her father, even in path of radiance
Chrom and lissa were acknowledged to be raised by their older sister who took exalt at a very young age, assuming it’s based on lineage and age (as chrom takes over for her rather than lissa so that can be assumed) it would be confusing that they would have a living mother and was never mentioned so I’m pretty sure it’s safe to assume their dead, as assuming she was alive creates tons of plot questions

Even if she not his biological mother, Leif says that Eyvel was like a mother for him and because she can be saved in the chapter 24x, she can also be considered like a living parent if she survive in the end of Thracia 776.
So we can says Leif is a lucky boy because in the end, he has not just a adoptive living mother, a sister and because Eyvel turns out to be Brigid, he also had a 2 half-sisters and one half-brother. A big happy familly, indeed.
And like Roy and Eliwood, Leif doesn't have great stat but this is compensated by the fact that he can celebrate the victory at the end with a parent alive.
To be fair Leif already lost 3 parental figure, (Quan, Ethlyn and Lachesis (though Kaga's notes says Lachesis survived)).

Correct, we just unfortunately never learn enough about Misaha's daughter/Micaiah and Sanaki's mom to know the exact timeline of what happened between the time of the Serenes Massacre and Sanaki's birth, and what happened to her (probably the senate, lol).

Shame that Lumera tried to speedrun her way to the top of the dead parents list. I think it would have maybe done wonders for the storey and her character if she at least sticked around till chapter 11. Making a heroic sacrifice against Sombron and the four hounds at the chapel there would have given her a more dignified ending and a better explanation why the group could just run out of their trap.
I've never really thought too deeply about how many parents died over the course of the series, mainly because parents of main characters dying is not just common in Fire Emblem but many other characters.
When you look at the world of Fire Emblem, it makes sense why parents would be at risk of getting killed as many have significant influence or power. If Greil had survived his battle with the BK, the story would've been quite different.
I do definitely feel Ninian was the intended wife for Eliwood, for obvious reasons, and because it explains why Roy's mother is no longer present in FE6, as Nils stated she wouldn't live for long if she stayed in Elibe.
Also glad someone noticed that Garon was dead prior to Fates, for some reason that's something that people don't realize. Even with it pretty much being directly stated. Also interesting, his death takes place after Arete's (which partially implies that her death is what leads to Garon's possession by Anankos).

What can I say, the Marquesses of Pherae are just built different. Thus making Eliwood the strongest lord in Fire Emblem due to surviving becoming the parent of a main character.

How far along is the manga? I hear Chapter 11 cited as the best place for a heroic sacrifice, so I guess more specifically I should be asking if it's past that (or its analogue) and, if so, if there's still an obvious way for her to die.
@@randomguy-tg7ok it’s at 10 chapters rn I believe and they’re in the Brodie portion of the game so there’s still plenty of time for Lumera to die especially given how much it’s deviating from the games story but I don’t see a way that chapter 11 will be where she dies in the manga cause I just don’t see why Lumera would even be there at all on a narrative level other than to die which I don’t believe they’ll do anyway, if they wanted Lumera to die early on then they’d have just done what the game did, that’s just my thoughts on it though. If I’m proven wrong and she does die in chapter 11 then I’ll end up looking pretty dumb lol

For me, FE Fates' paternal death, had a biggest tug of the heart. Just wish there were more chapters before the death to make more of a connection like FE PoR.
FE SoV had a great storyline with Alm parental figure. Full voice acting the made the final conversation between the two more impactful.

While it is a pretty funny meme, it should be noted that not every parental death serves as a motivation, or the catalyst for the protagonist to act. In many cases the protagonist was already in the process of doing their thing.
Byleth as an example was already investigating Those Who Slither in the Dark before they murdered Jeralt.
Obviously this also applies to characters who's parents were already dead or were evil.

I personally have a triple Venn diagram of fathers that physically appear in FE with the categories: Deployable, Dastard, and Dead. Note that I only apply this to the dads we actually see, so those mentioned only in supports and backstory don't apply. I used to think that the only exception to this was Eliwood prior to the release of Blazing Blade, until I learned that he's actually playable in the bonus modes of Binding Blade.

Anselmas/Patricias death is not quite certain. She is presumed dead after the tragedy of duscur, but some evidence suggests she made it out alive. It is not clear what her faith is, but one can assume she died sometime before the game (Cornelia mentions she is dead in three hopes, but that is a different timeline).
Emperor Ionius IX is only seen in one cutscene where he mentions that he 'does not have much time left' and I believe there is one line in the game that mentions that he died. So it can be reasonably believed that he dies at some point during the time skip.
Dimitri:
Birth mother (I am not sure she is ever given a name) dies to the plague of faerghus before the game
King Lambert is killed in the tragedy of Duscur before the game.
Dimitris step-mother is Anselma/Patricia
Claude:
Both Tiana von Riegan and the King of Almyra are still alive by the end of the game.
Even the Warriors MCs can't catch a break either lol

Unpopular opinion you should've included the 3 house lords (edelgard, claude and dimitri), alfonse and kiran. the 3 house lords definetly have large portions of hte game revolving around them and there are arguments to be made that heroes is a mainline game despite being on mobile.
Well in heroes, there is Gustav. Who gets killed soon after being introduced in book 3. Then you kill him again as a zombie. Then you rekill zombie Gustav in book 6. No one acknowledges it, despite Alfonse claiming a little before that he killed his father. Henriette lives. For now. this may change in current book since they dragged her back into relevance.
Dimitri's parents are notoriously dead.
Edelgard's mom, who is also Dimitri's, is presumably dead before the story. Her dad was alive at least before timeskip, but probably died after.
Claude's parents are fine, seemingly.

We don’t know what happened to Anselma as the game never gives an answer on what happened to her. And if it did, it would have been inconsistent due to how much AM and AG love to chop and change details in general for no clear reason.
Ionius is implied dead. He makes it clear in WC that he hasn’t got much time left. With there being a line in CF which canonical say he dies. While in SB, we know he also still dies through Edelgard support with Bernadette.

Its funny because after you put fates and engage side by side its really funny, the mother dies in the main story early on, then is revived and you have to fight her, and then you fight the father in the final chapter.
Roy and eliwood is kinda hilarious, though roy's mother is already passed before the story starts, and the role of dead parent goes to lilina and hector instead. While for eliwood, elbert still dies yeah, though his is a bit different since its onscreen, but not quite as dramatic as some of the others.
Arguably could have added a few more characters to the list, like the 3h trio as well

Lilith dies in two thirds of Fates' routes. For entirely contrived and arbitrary reasons, but that's par for the course in Fates.
Going to add Alfonse and Sharena, Rowan and Liana, and Shez because I care:
Alfonse and Sharena (Heroes): Their father was killed by Hel in Book 3. Their mother is still alive as of Book 8’s 3rd chapter.
Rowan and Liana (Warrior): Their father died prior to the events of the game and their mother is survives.
Shez (Three Hopes): His/Her parents died when they were little. They had an adopted mother who passed prior to the game.
Also, for Rowan and Liana being the most forgettable lords, ironically enough, their some of the only ones with a remaining parent still alive

For anyone who hasn’t played fates-whenever what he’s saying cuts off with a sound effect he’s saying the name of a country in the game called “Valla”. In the game, if anyone talks about valla outside of it, they instantly die, which is the game’s excuse for revelations having a wildly different story from the other two. It’s such a silly plot beat it’s become a joke across the whole fan base to censor it, like typing out V*lla or bleeping it out in videos like this

I have a fan theory that whatever illness killed Hector's parents also infected Hector, but he survived and became a transmissable carrier.
A majority of the people close to Hector (his brother, his best friend, his wife, and his best friend's wife) all either die young of illness or get very sick to the point that he can't fight in a major war.
I know disease is probably pretty common in the FE verse but the sheer scale of how many people around Hector get sick I feel like something is going on

FE would somewhat have a running story of parents dying at some point of the game. I've recently just gotten FE Engage and felt Lumera's death was rushed. I didn't also expect her cutscene to be longer than expected.

Allow me to fill in some characters from the spinoffs, just to appease my perfectionism.
In Heroes, Alfonse and Sharena's father, Gustav, dies in Book 3 protecting his son from Hel's curse. Their mother, Henriette, is still alive, but the opening trailer for Book 8 implies she might not be for long.
In Warriors, Rowan and Lianna's unnamed father is already dead before the game, likely due to illness. Their mother, Yelena, however, surprisingly makes it through to the ending.
In Three Hopes, I honestly have no clue about Shez's biological parents, but their adoptive mother is dead.

Micaiah's parents are probably dead as it is stated the before Sanaki, her grandmother ruled and Sanaki was crowned as a child, so they can't have just been there as whoever heard Ashera would be next to be apostle. The one who heard Ashera is dead but the other is still alive... so probably one of them are dead... not sure but I think for the sake of this video, unknown is fine.

I remember being disappointed by Jeralt's death in Three Houses. I kept thinking that I was surprised he made it that long so when he did die there was almost no impact. Even though he was one of the better developed parent characters. Seriously, 3H did a lot to subvert FE tropes, why not that one too? Jeralt living to the end of the game would have been the best plot twist.
I still get choked up at Greil's death every time though.

I believe only in the future past dlc, is the Avatar able to hold Grima back for the kids to get a killing blow in. Since that's another timeline with a "younger Grima", Future Robin is propably dead before the final chapter in the main timeline.

I believe she is just the default one set up because Chrom has to get married in order to have Lucina but not necessarily canonical. It’s possible because as far as I’m aware there is no mention of his wife in other games tho that could mean it’s made vague on purpose both for it not really being relevant and letting the fans interpret it how they want.
It has been confirmed that multiple versions of the same world coexist in a multiverse, so technically all options are canon.
