The system is built for SHORT RANGED ballistic missiles, not long range nukes, and you can't cover all of the US with them due to their cost. You forgot to say that the US has an insane defense system as well as may isolated states and territories (Examples: Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands.) So while we may not be the safest country in the world, we would still be pretty safe.
It would be interesting to know which would be safer, I'd be betting on mainland US actually in any case where America becomes a good option. The main video point I agreed with on the US was the potential for ARK style bunkers. They had less n95's than NZ had, despite a MUCH larger population & N95's would be essential to wear when travelling to those bunkers & don't really have expiry dates, so if they don't even have large numbers of them, then in reality, they don't have any preps at all! There is a problem with Chile, and particularly Punta Arenas. In an all out nuclear war the Panama Canal would most likely be destroyed, leaving Cape Horn as the only alternative to link US Navy Pacific and Atlantic fleets. Cape Horn is a pretty hard place to navigate in...so the safest way to go trough is the Magellan Strain....and the ONLY mayor port there is, you guessed it, Punta Arenas...which conveniently lays pretty much half way. Punta Arenas has mayor shipyards and naval repair facilities...and being a tradicional NATO ally it would probably go too pretty fast.

They had less n95's than NZ had, despite a MUCH larger population & N95's would be essential to wear when travelling to those bunkers & don't really have expiry dates, so if they don't even have large numbers of them, then in reality, they don't have any preps at all! I'm in Australia & quite happy here :) We'd be pulled into conflicts, may even be a major staging location, but I'd still feel safe here, safer than South Africa tbh when looking at covid data & also drinking water resources. We have a $2 billion desalination plant just sitting here in Sydney unusued, but available to be turned on "just in case" we have droughts & water shortages such as CapeTown experienced (but the government here is more onto it, so even though we had that same drought, we went onto restrictions much earlier, so our water supplies were fine, although we did turn on the desal for about 3 months, just to avoid needing to go onto harsher restrictions & stopping all lawn watering). Our people in Australia are really politically active & educated right now, we've just wiped out our government & replaced with independents who will represent our needs & all round I feel that the country's really stable & really doing right by the people, so really secure, no matter what happens in the world. NZ's fine too, but honestly it's probably doubtful it's that much better than Australia. WA in particular absolutely matched them in covid & would probably be even safer than NZ in war. NZ & Australia will also be fighting together in any war, as ANZACS always do.
Middle of Australia is the only place I would avoid in Australia, due to the US base there that's absolutely a target. Sydney or Melbourne may get hit by China, but it would cause global outrage if they did, especially since there are no military targets there & it could not be seen as anything other than a pure civilian attack, not a military one

Hey I always wanted to live in New Zealand and now, I have a good reason why.
There is a problem with Chile, and particularly Punta Arenas. In an all out nuclear war the Panama Canal would most likely be destroyed, leaving Cape Horn as the only alternative to link US Navy Pacific and Atlantic fleets. Cape Horn is a pretty hard place to navigate in...so the safest way to go trough is the Magellan Strain....and the ONLY mayor port there is, you guessed it, Punta Arenas...which conveniently lays pretty much half way. Punta Arenas has mayor shipyards and naval repair facilities...and being a tradicional NATO ally it would probably go too pretty fast.
