A great sustain pedal is the Roland Dp 10, which you can get for about 40 euros. Nice review btw. I know you probably get this a lot and can be annoying but you're gorgeous
I could, but I only have a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch adapter at the moment and not the other way - I've been able to work around this because of the midi functions of the keyboard which I have quite liked!
Hello, I also have a new Korg B2 but I'm annoyed by the background white noise hiss from the speakers. I'd be interested to know if you can hear this? I have nothing to compare to! thanks.
Thanks for this helpful review - I've been looking for a keybaord with an audio-in jack (or bluetooth option), surprisingly hard to find under $1k. Question: can't you use a mini to 1/4" adapter to plug this into an amp?
Glad I could help! I haven't tried it, but some other folks in the comments section have said that it would be a workable solution. Given the ongoing pandemic I haven't needed to avail of an amp recently.
Yeah you can buy 3.5mm to 1/4" patch leads at most music stores (well you can at mine - I live in the UK) and then it could plug straight into a keyboard amp. I haven't tried it with this piano, but my little hardware sequencer is the same, and it works great into a normal keyboard amp with one of those patch leads. Enjoy! :-)
hello Tara can you help me please? I am studying piano in the last 5 years and i bougth this korg the last year and I am very confused with the connections. can you tell me how you conect the piano to your netbook please? thank you!! (sorry for my english i speak spanish)
The piano has a different sustain pedal input,... it is not a plug-in input, they sell pedals with the input that this piano has?... I was looking for it and didn't find it, all the sustain pedals I saw were a plug-in input that doesn't work for this piano, do you know where you can get a sustain pedal with this kind of input?
Cool vid Tara! Thanks for sharing with us. I’m sure we’re gonna hear some really beautiful songs with you using that keyboard. When’s the last time you busked? I do enjoy going back every so often and watching your blushing vids. Pretty cool!!! 😃
I was busking this past Sunday (you can find some videos of me from Sunday on Dublin City Today's channel)! I probably won't be able to go busking again until March because I have a few big exams coming up in February so I need to focus on studying for those!
Tara Jamieson so thoughtful and nice of you to reply. Thank you for that. I’ll look for your recent busking on that channel. And we understand that your studies come first. You’re super smart so I’m sure you’ll do great on your exams! Good luck.😃
Okay, I found it. Cool interview !! Very insightful. And great busking performance!!! Fun song choices Tara. Really really liked your rendition of Can’t Help Falling in Love. And I’m a new subscriber to that channel too. Thanks to you. Incidentally, that’s the same channel I saw your previous busking performances. Thanks again!
Hi, I have the same exact one. I’m the happiest about it actually. It’s all I’ve ever wanted, but it makes static noise, when played or not. Does yours ‘hiss’ too? Oh, and btw, pedal does get significantly softer.
Have you had any luck adding more options to it? I'm considering buying this (cheapest option) and upgrading as I need...

@@carolinebarley Sorry to butt in, but what kind of options do you mean? If you are looking for a line-out, for example, you better wait a bit and save up some money to buy a different piano. If you are into KORG, I would suggest looking into the SP-280, which is slightly more expensive, but still a very good deal - with more options :-)
@ thanks, I actually ended up buying an arturia keylab instead and I love it. Its taken some time to figure out some of the software, but its a really nice keyboard to play around on.
Hi, thanks for this review! I have a question that I hope you can answer though: is the sustain pedal input jack universal 1/4 inch? Or is it the korg proprietary jack? This is honestly kind of a deal breaker for me because I'd hate to run into technical problems along the road regarding sustain pedal replacement if ever i will be purchasing this (the b2sp actually, in my case). Should the stock pedal that comes with the keyboard break down in a few months or years, it would be a really huge bummer if I can't simply replace it with any other regular 1/4 inch universal sustain pedal and I'd have to look for that specific type of korg proprietary pedal :( Thanks in advance, and stay awesome! :D
I had the option of the Yamaha P125, but I chose the Korg because of the price. I've heard lots of great things about the P125, but at the time that I was purchasing the Korg was the more economical purchase. Having now had it for getting closer to a year, I like the Korg - but I don't think that it is a game changer in the entry digital piano department. I hope that helps with your decision.
@@LiliCortesU Asking me; because of the keybed and pianosound. I love KORG (and I am even the proud owner of a D1 and an SV-2S), but from the two piano's in this review, I'd go for the P125. A KORG that beats the P125, is the SP-280
Hi. I have heard that this model doesn't support a regular sustain pedal. Is this true? I just bought a tgi sustain pedal and on the box it says it can be used with Korg pianos. Will I need to get a different one?
So the sustain pedal on this has a proprietary connector (so it's not like a regular 1/4 inch connector). It's one of the downsides of this model that I wish I had pointed out in the video.
@@DrTaraJamieson Thanks for the reply. That's honestly such a shame :( I really liked this digital piano. Do you know where I can buy the specific sustain pedal and how much it may cost?
I don’t unfortunately, I would check Thomann (that’s where I bought the keyboard) so they might be able to direct to other sustain pedals that would work with the proprietary connector. Or perhaps Amazon?
Unfortunately the pedal has a proprietary connector so changing to a different one is impossible! Would’ve been nice to see you play and hear it. Nice review otherwise!
Great video! Thanks to your recommendation, I browsed through Thomann's website on my search for my first digital piano. I see a good deal on a B-stock version of the piano that I'm eyeing. Any idea on how their B-stock models are? I'm not entirely sure of how reliably they grade signs of wear on musical instruments.
The Rode Microphone that I use for my Tunes with Tara was part of their B-Stock. There was a tear in the box when I got it and 1 or 2 scratches on the metal casing - but the microphone works like a dream. I’ve had a great experience with Thomann’s B-Stock.
Your description doesn't sound like a good purchase at all... Your comments sound very honest and accurate. I wish you played some sounds to get a better idea of the piano. Best..

It's a great digital piano. The only thing that keeps me from buying it is the inability to use a "normal" sustain pedal with a 1/4" jack. Do you know If i can use it as a midi controller?
YES! That's how I've been getting around it not having a regular 1/4 inch jack for an amplifier/my interface. You can use a midi to USB cable (like one you would use to hardwire a printer to a computer) into the computer and record the sound directly. The sustain pedal is a regular 1/4 inch jack - but it's for the sustain only.
Whoever made that scarf understands me on a personal level.
Thanks! This video was the last bit of convincing to buy my own KORG! Amazing!
Great video, really informative. Looking forward to your next post 🙏
Thanks DCT!
The lack of a 1/4 " output jack is a deal breaker for me. Good to know. Thanks.
Glad to help

I already once bought a training guitar at Thomann... I loved hearing your opinion about this keyboard, very interesting indeed. 👍 Thanks, Tara. 💗💞💗
