Awwww...I felt for the young boy. He was so mature. When he covered his eyes from shame for crying and then apologized for it, it nearly broke me. I know grown men who would’ve thrown full tantrums for less injuries.
I know! He had nothing to be ashamed of! I can’t imagine how painful that was for him especially without any pain medication but he was incredible in that difficult situation and very brave and mature absolutely 🥺😰

I was also wondering why they didn’t ask him if he would like to report the incident to the police or speak to them if he felt threatened or unsafe. I’m sure he might have just said no and not wanted that kind of intervention but it’s surprising that it wasn’t mentioned at all or included even as a part of the hospital’s reporting that type of injury (even if without any patient info or anonymously) simply for the accurate and relevant police/crime statistics for the area and hospital location etc.

He’s in shock and that is a natural biological response that everyone can and usually does experience in situations like that- and the aftermath of a violent attack is beyond understandable for such a response. The ER (or A&E as they say) doctors definitely would (usually) consider treating his reaction as an essential part of his necessary immediate medical treatment because it’s very effecting in terms of the medical repercussions to many of your biological systems like respiratory, cardiac, nervous system etc. Unfortunately you are very mistaken and I hope that you can better educate yourself in the future about these type of issues, as you clearly have never experienced any situations or encountered anyone who has relevant to that type of acute traumatic emergency crisis.

mursalarabia they are generally trained however they need to think of the well being of the whole rather than the one. If someone is having a panic attack or mentally ill and is triggered they’re more likely to be sedated and treated then a psychiatric team will take over.
thankyou next think of the well-being of the whole got him to leave without getting any kind of help.. which is extremely unacceptable.. you are dealing with a patient not thinking normally perhaps reliving the moment he was attacked every 5 seconds out of his mind, shaking like a leaf .. there are a lot of ways to help without him being sedated.. reassurance is one , that he is in a safe place telling him it’s gonna be alright, breathing experiences .. you don’t need to be a psychiatrist to know that... they are not mechanics fixing cars.. it’s a trauma center dealing with traumatized patients
Not all hospitals have psychiatric wards or emergency psychiatric watch zones, many actually don't and therefore the personnel who would be trained for that simply aren't present. Where I live there's over 4 hospitals. Only one hospital has a ward and emergency watch area, the city has a mobile mental health team, and there's a community place with mental health nurses and station for people to stay a few days. And honestly it's actually not enough. But that's why cases would get turned away. They're not bad enough to admit to hospital, or arrange transfer to the correct hospital. Here's a lorazepam, calm down, go home.
If they spend 2 hours calming down one person they are ignoring 6 others who are at risk of dying. They know exactly what they are doing, unless you're suggesting we let others die this is the only way to deal with this situation in a very busy A&E. After his injuries are taken care of he will be seen by the right people, accident and emergency (A&E where this is filmed) is no place to spend ages calming down one person, how would you feel if your child was sick and no one was coming because they were too busy calming down a panic attack instead of sedating him.

Very odd. Admitting someone for no found broken ribs. I broke 3 ribs and I had a very hard time breathing, coughing, walking, moving, laying down, issues sleeping, I was sent home and Care for myself. I was told I would have to take it easy and do breathing excercises. NO ADMISSION>
I hope that woman who came in unconscious is ok. It looked like she might have been a drug user as well, her feet looked like they had lots of injection sites, not judging. And the man who got beat up, I felt bad for him. I wonder if he was so anxious bc he needed a drink, again no judging from me. I hope he is doing well.
if they think he broke his neck why isnt the patient in a Servical collar and on taped or strapped to a backboard? very odd patient can seriously injure or paralize himself with out proper backboard and cervical colar.
Just because Turan left doesn’t mean he would have to be rescanned it he were to come back the next day. The results will still be there on record. I do wish he had stayed but I think he was in withdrawals from alcohol and if so I can understand completely how difficult it would be for him. I am a sober drug addict and I was addicted to opiates which I injected and the withdrawals I got were the worst thing I have ever been through and I have been through a lot lol.
Yes it does. They have no way of knowing if he fell on his head again or had some new physical trauma and no hospital in a modern country would ever go off old test results after a patient has left the facility.

If only the US could mandate the 4 hour rule. Wait times to be given a bed are up to 18 hours, unfortunately our hospitals with the exception of Veteran's hospitals and a few State run hospitals are privatized and thus we are at their mercy. Some times you're to sick ( think gastritis ) too sit in a waiting room with 1 or 2 shared bathrooms for hours.
Anybody else notice how they gave the lady with a sore chest pain meds before her exam, but the kid who's crying from sever pain in his arm isn't given anything? That's atrocious! Children shouldn't be put through any unnecessary pain, especially when adults aren't put through it
He daid he sometimes experienced shortness of breath, that & his age etc makes him a bigger risk than a healthy 30 y old to put to sleep.. narcosis is always a risk & he had more riskfactors than others.. thats why they want to make sure that his heart IS strong enough to go trough a narcosis.. bcs you are not just sleeping, your are actually half dead, you would not wake yp if you werent in a respirator during surgery.. many ppl dosent understand really how serious it is & cant think a little further..

Probably only gave him ibuprofen. Which would have not helped much with a broken wrist....as a mum, this really broke my heart 😕😢
