Dissecting Drift is a series where we take a deep dive into what happened at a particular event. Filling you in on the angle, lines, mistakes, and the high caliber driving that verifies a win. Myself, as a champion FD driver with 20 years of drifting experience and insight will break down the winner of each battle. Even if we don't agree with the judges.

No offence to the FD judges and commentators but imo I'd rather hear what Chelsea, an actual FD champion thinks of each run. Also, it's awesome hearing exactly what each lead and chase is being judged on and what the drivers could've done differently
have you seen the last event? robbie, someone who actually drove a lot and is an amazing driver actually went the other direction with many votes and was much better

Just a tip for the productiom of these videos. You can use the comma and period keys on your keyboard when the video is paused to go frame by frame.

I would've described it using the arrows because that makes more sense to me pointing the direction of the frame hahah but at least you're not gatekeeping.
It also shocks me how few people know you can press S to skip an intro on netflix
@@foodonfilm5935 I just wanted to not make it ambiguous. The arrows could also means the 4 up down left right arrows. And I'm also french canadian so I have a weird keyboard layout.

While the video is paused the keys go frame by frame.
I learned recently If you hold the shift key while pressing either key, you can adjust the playback speed.

I love FD but there’s a lot more to drifting than competition. I love it but it kinda kills any sort of creativity and experimentation

true, you can apply basically everything Chelsea shares to assetto and get at least very similar results to how it should work in real live, I love it :D

Tomorrow will be my first time ever drifting and I already feel like I’ve learned so much by watching your videos (and a lot more deep dive let’s be honest). I’ve only experienced this sport as a spectator, trying to be as knowledgeable as possible as far as the theory goes but I can’t wait to finally experience it IRL. I’ll just try to have fun and let it flow. I can’t wait for all of it to just click and get it.

Dude hell yes! Been waiting for more videos like this. It’s great for fans that want to learn because the announcers (love those guys but…) do a horrible job dissecting the battles based on the rules and don’t give a drivers perspective. Bahh 😂… still have the “pointer”. Chelsea, it would be sick for you to build the same e36 you helped LZ build and then do a few rounds in DM.

This was good to watch and hear the opinion of someone who knows all about it other than us common folk smashing that keyboard, in saying that the passion fd fans have is pretty good, gets them fired up for sure, looking forward to more of these

It would be sick if you did a track analysis before the current event always love your breakdown of the track
sweet breakdown, love the video. There's a chrome extension called 'Video Speed Controller' that has remappable buttons that you can customize the speed up/ slow down amount and skip forward and backward times, I think it could make your analysis easier being able to skip back a custom amount and go into slow mo at a press of a button. Can't wait to see the Road Atlanta breakdown!

Atlanta is going to be great, would love to see Chelsea as a judge for next year, especially since some of the judges do have experience with actual drifting, a lot of them have been out of it for years with different changes in cars and such

Dannngit's been a cool minute! Would you ever consider coming to New Mexico for No Coast Drift Party? I'm new to actually driving but it gets Sick!
Luke Fink and Wout were at last year's No Coast and I'd like to say they both had a great time. But Luke did have a hard time getting there so his experience was probably pretty exhausting. Adam also went some years ago but officer Dan has Seriously improved the track since then and the event has gotten MUCH bigger
