An amazing little reel! Bought one a few weeks back, mounted it on a Kistler Z Bone 1 Power and am beyond pleased. Spooled with 6# Trilene XL I cast 1/16oz baits with ease and have yet to toss a backlash.............get this thing dialed in and it's bullet proof.
Hello, do you have any tips/tutorial vid on how to do clean up for BC reels after each SW trip? Also any maintenance afterwards? I’m using BC exclusively for fresh water and seeing your videos doing BFS in SW environment, I’m keen to try but also want to keep my gears from corrosion. Cheers
Was just out casting mine today. I can still blow it up 🤣 getting brake dialed in. 1/16 ounce hook, 2” soft plastic. Just a hair under 3 on the brakes. Wow. Such a smooth reel. Less power to more distance. Falcon ultimate trout rod. Two flounder for dinner. 10lb suffix832
You can only cast 30-40'? That's significantly less than I can cast 1/8oz jighead + 2.5" zman salty Ned shrimp on my curado mgl on a M power rod. Are you sure that's accurate? I can get about 90' on a good cast with that setup. Average cast is prob closer to 75'
nice video man love it i have ordered a poison adrena 1610M should you put a bfs is on it or maybe a curado dc its for small crank from 4gr up to 15gr fishing for perch and zander thx
How much line do you normally spool of that 1.2ga line? I have a couple SLX BFS reels but i usually only spool up around 30-40 meters of 0.4ga line for fresh water.. I've been wanting to take it inshore but unsure of how much line i should put and don't want to put too much weight on the spool just to appease the "what if i run out of line on a big fish" lol
I have both curado and the scorpion bfs love then both but I use 10lb braid and 8lb fluorocarbon lines and have no problems thanks for the review and insight on the bfs
Honestly the Aldebaran only casts baits a very little tinny bit further, what you are purchasing with the Aldebaran is a much lighter overall reel and just better in every way Japanese made reel. But if you expect and only want better casting for the $100 just save your money and get the Curado.
The shimano aldebaran bfs or Daiwa alphas air are all good choices but why choose a baitcast reel instead of spinning reels, many pros use spinning reel to practice bait finesse
I would take the metanium over that Curado bfs reel any day plus if you already have the Aldebaran bfs XG and the Calcutta conquest bfs who needs this reel
In the paperwork that comes with the Curado BFS it specifically says not to use nylon lines (monofilament)......fluoro and braid only. Why is this?!? I use mono with no issues...........what is Shimano's issue?
i dont use mine in saltwater or my curado DC but the curado bfs paired with my ML rod is my favorite jerkbait, swimbait setuo i ever had its 100% worth every penny for Bass to crappie.. the curado DC i would say buy something else i was supee dissapointed its to heavy
Awesome review!! They need to be paying you for this review. I am sure plenty of people will buy it just from this review. God Bless and tight lines!!

How many yards of line can you put on that reel with 10lb 832 suffix?
Are you going to get the SLX BFS? I'm thinking that's my next go to saltwater bfs reels.
Great perspective into what Shimano is doing for us finesse fishermen.
Every time someone ask me if a certain reel is SW approved I send them here lol
😂
Thank u @THE REEL TEST…cuz of ur video i purchase this reel through tackle warehouse with a 20% off…cant beat it for arnd 150

Great Job! Can't wait to take it to the coast!
nice video man love it

my next set up for sure!!!
Best budget bfs?

I just ordered it from Ali express, ordered the Shimano majestic rod in m/l
This vs the 2016 aldebaran?
Does the lighter spool justify the $100+ price difference?

You only put 45 yards of line? Looks like you have more on the spool, i could be wrong.
Are you using a leader with the Avani braided line, if so what do you use? TIA
Varivas flurocarbon 12 pound.
What is the difference between curado bfs and slx bfs?
@Nash Fishing Channel Nothing … is just cosmetics.. watch Hobbie One Kanobie review on the 3 shimano reels slx bfs, curado bfs, scorpion bfs…

Exactly. Fighting a big fish on spinning reel has more line capacity and drag play than 50 yard of line on a bfs
I just sold my slx bfs and curado bfs. I thought it was too hyped and I didn’t think it was worth the price tag.
Aldebaran is better
Good info that’s definitely a nice reel
I would take the metanium over that Curado bfs reel any day plus if you already have the Aldebaran bfs XG and the Calcutta conquest bfs who needs this reel
I use the aldeberan bfs
In the paperwork that comes with the Curado BFS it specifically says not to use nylon lines (monofilament)......fluoro and braid only. Why is this?!? I use mono with no issues...........what is Shimano's issue?
They don’t like nylon
collab with your cousin Kim Jon-Ung 🔥🔥🔥

This dude compared a $60 line to a $10 line lmao
