Loving these much more informative videos and not just the fun stuff. Shows how much you’re leveling up as an angler and we are on the journey with you. Love the fly fishing journey too!
Gomexus is amazing the quality of their handles are up to par with the expensive japanese brands. They killed the customization market, no one wanta to pay $170 for a handle, theres not enough material used to justify such a high cost eapecially when gomexus matches that quality for like 60 bucks lol.
Westin pal the Shimano Sensilight 7ft Light is the rod your talking about. It is actually a good rod. On that rod you can cast 1/16-1/8 ounce baits. I use it to Crappie fish with myself even though it’s actually a Bass rod. And I use the KastKing Zephyr. Also Westin I would like to tell you the small small braid works amazing. What I’m talking about is the 2lb test diameter 10lb strength. But when using braid on BFS you need to make sure it’s soft limp braid. Nothing stiff like Fireline. Either Varivas or Power Pro. For Crappie I’m using 1lb diameter 8lb test. The 10lb mono or fluro is super heavy on the spool. To cast the super light baits you need that super light line.
Just got mine 2 days ago and paired it with a shamino sensilite rod. I’m loving micro fishing with the googan micro baits. Bought almost every color. I need that handle for mine!!! Love your videos!!!!
i just ordered the Lews Superduty 300 power handle model on amazon. $50 off normal price of 200. i had $100 in amazon gift cards so it came out to $61 out of pocket.... i really wanted the Tranx 301 but i couldn't pass up the small out of pocket cost compared to $277 delivered on eBay. I'm excited to see how it works on my musky rod i got not too long ago
Hey dude, to get the best out of the reel you need to pair it with a BFS rod. i can recommend the Majorcraft or Tsurinoya rod, i have my curado bfs paired with a Tsurinoya Elite 3. also 10lb fluoro is still a bit heavy for bfs, typically people use between 4-8lb, i personally of for 5lb shimano aero fluorocarbon, shimano Aero being the best fluoro i have found for BFS.
Hello, i have a little question , i have put 150yd of braid 8x (J braid 8x daiwa) 0.6mm, on mine shimano bfs xg, it's good or too small? For lures with 5g and 7.5cm thank you !
Hey Westin, I'm using 6lb Sufix 823 (Neon Lime) with 4lb fluorocarbon leader and and a 1/32 oz Mule jig (super lightweight ned head from Mule Fishing). Mine is on a Shimano Sensilite rod.
Man I've been seeing a lot of hate on you Westin, what the heck is the deal. There's videos and Instagram clips of just hate. BFS is sick can't wait for mine
Thanks man! I’m newer to fishing than many big fishing UA-cam channels and the googans inspired me to start and so it’s ez to say I’m just a Googan wannabe and I kind of entice it anyways with certain pieces of content 🤣🤣
I think for many it may be accuracy since you can thumb the spool. Baitcasters just haven’t been designed with finesse applications in mind as much over the years vs. spinning combos
Question... Shimano has the SLX MGL. Do you think the SLX MGL with a 70 spool could cast the same lightweight baits similar or slightly less effective?
I don’t think the slx Mgl will cast as effectively the really small stuff that the BFS will just from what I’ve seen. Slx mgl will do good with those weightless flukes and other soft plastics but not this micro stuff.
I assume the keyboard you’re typing this comment with was made in China 😑 haha but yes, if I can save someone 10% on a purchase of these handles they were going to buy anyways, I’d much rather them use it and grab a set for less. We love em
you definitely need to try it on an actual bfs rod. Medium action is a bit too heavy for bfs lures. I have my Curado bfs paired up with a Dobyns Sierra series rod and I cast lures down to a gram and a half fishing for largies and the occasional striper, never felt a better fight!! I love all of your videos. And that combo looks like a unit
Thing is awesome!! Thanks Raney!!
Good information Westin and Devon 💯💯 really like them handles 👍
Try using an UL or light rod. That’s where you get a true taste of bfs and can cast even lighter lures.

I just picked this up it’s awesome for weightless Texas rigs
Christmas gift to me. Thanks for the heads up.
The fish fighting capabilities of that rod are excellent and it's more fun to catch fish owner lighter setup
Great Stuff Westin... just bought a Gomexus Green thanks for that vid and recommendation can't wait for it to get to me.... 👍🏾👍🏾💯⛽🔥🔥🔥🔥🎣🎣🎣🎣🤙🏾🤙🏾👊🏾✌🏾

In other words, you are saying that Curado Bfs can cast 1 gramm lure?

These are sick! Will be getting one for sure someday! 🔥
Hey Westin when did you order your reel, mine is still back ordered I’ve been waiting since march
Love the video Westin! What's the advantage over just using a spinning setup in these situations?
I think for many it may be accuracy since you can thumb the spool. Baitcasters just haven’t been designed with finesse applications in mind as much over the years vs. spinning combos
I have been waiting for this vid
🙌🏼
I’m getting one soon🤞🏼thx brother good shiiieet
That music!!!🔥🔥🔥
How would they work on my Aldebaran?
LOVE YOUR CONTENT WESTIN 🤟🤟
Thanks!
how much line does it fit in the reel?
We need a finesse casting rod from googan!!! Do you know what the bfs oil is for??
That's for two bearing holding down the spool

Gogan squad = Genaric .
Do they make a handle for the shimano calcutta bfs?
I love it man y'all are awesome Oklahoma guy out!!!
I normally throw 10lb flouro on my jerkbait rod. You can go lighter. Trust your drag to do what it is designed to do.
What name of the crank lure?
Holy smokes 74$ for those handles
You should do a 1 lb test challenge
Dude!!!!!! What an idea!!!!! Thanks for throwing that out there
Westin really be out here giving out discount codes for cheap after market handles that are made in China....

10lbs line is too heavy for bfs, I prefer 4lbs line, if you want to be more fun
full marketing
10lb is too overpowered for bass on bfs lol
I think I mention most folks would use lighter stuff.
@@WestinSmith you’re sensitive
@@gobybryant1001 haha. Great come back 👌🏼😑
