It was a rain wrapped tornado. They can be some of the worst. Not because of their strength, but because you don't see them until it's too late.

@@beekeeper4243 are you taking the piss or what. Australia has always had tornados and a lot more of them than you think. There is documented tornados for over 100 yrs. I have been within 10kms of 5 tornados now in the past 30 yrs. Australia has also had an f5 tornado and many people have died. Approx 100 yrs ago w men when seen being taken by a tornado in Chetwyd, later found some distance away and unalived. The casterton tornado in June 1989 f2-f3 travelled approx 77kms ripping 100+ yr old redgum trees from the ground and demolished a home, luckily they were out at the time. Maybe, just maybe, in the last 15-20 yrs we have had these things called smart phones and social media!!

Late September and early October 2021 produced several impressive events, of which I could not chase due to lock downs but im glad people were able to document the events. The structure with that Narrabri tornado is brilliant. Important: if a tornado is moving to your left or right, you’re ok. If the tornado had no apparent motion, that means it’s coming your way and you need to shelter. Shelter in the lowest floor, in the most interior room of the house, or in the bathroom in the tub.

I really enjoy the fact that this channel literally shows that Australia gets Tornadoes.
The one thing I will say, is Australia gets lots of Tornadoes, second to America. Understand our Tornadoes are no where as powerful with what happens in the states.
The reason "Aussie Tornadoes" are many not documented, is because it happens away from us with big storms in the middle of nowhere.
I love this channel and think it's a wake-up call to all Australians like myself.. Thank you...

We had a big storm in South Aus a few years back.
Started in the evening then later on we had a statewide blackout from tornadoes taking down some major power lines.
South Aus is 983,482 km² in size.
Not millions without power like Florida, but a much, much larger area.

aprox 20 years ago I was in SA driving from Adelaide to Port Pirie, it was very windy and dry. Summer. I must have seen 100's of whirl winds and several large tornados. It was unbelievable and something I will never forget. One would have been several hundred meters across. Only 2 years ago the Norther suburbs had a rogue tornado come across Main North road through industrial zones. Left a bit of damage and debris, mainly from trees.

was in a micro-burst in hervey bay 20 years ago that must have had tornadoes in it because next day during the clean-up i saw one of those hessian/ seagrass doormats that you wipe your feet on at the front door UP IN THE POWER LINES! soaking wet and full of sand they weigh 40 pounds , how did wind get this to the power lines? one hell of an up-draught....
