- Join us on a mouthwatering journey from Penang to Taiping as we explore the culinary delights of this charming town! Starting our day at 9.30am, we set off on a gastronomic adventure that took us to some of Taiping's hidden gems.
Our first stop was Jin Dian coffeeshop, but alas, it was closed because it was Wesak Day actually! Undeterred, we headed to Taiping town's Jalan Pasar where we indulged in a late breakfast at Restoran Kakak 家家粿条汤. This heritage restaurant treated us to scrumptious noodles and chicken, reminiscent of Ipoh's famous nga choy kai. Don't miss their specialty drink - Nescafe coffee infused with barley water, a unique blend that left us intrigued and satisfied! Down the road we had aromatic goreng pisang (banana fritters) at PSL Pisang Goreng.
After filling our bellies, we explored the serene beauty of Lake Gardens Raintree Walk and savored the rich aroma of freshly ground coffee at Antong Coffee Mill. Our sweet tooth led us to Tupai Emas Biscuit Shop, where we stocked up on local confectioneries to enjoy later.
Next, we ventured to Kuala Sepetang, a picturesque fishing village known for its charcoal making factory. The rustic charm and scenic views captivated us as we explored the area and learned about the traditional craft of charcoal making.
As lunchtime approached, we indulged in a sumptuous feast at Xin Seafood, savoring delicious dishes while sharing stories and laughter with loved ones. Although we planned to try Serdang's famous fried porridge for dinner, our satisfied appetites led us to Design Village Batu Kawan for some leisurely shopping and digestion assistance!
As the day drew to a close, we concluded our food-filled adventure with a dinner at Eight Heng Food City (8腾美食城) at Paya Terubong. While the food court boasted an impressive array of 80 stalls, the flavors fell a bit short of our expectations.
Join us on this culinary escapade and discover the delectable delights awaiting in Taiping - a perfect day trip destination for food enthusiasts! Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more epic food adventures. Bon appétit! 🍽️🚗 #TaipingFoodAdventure #PenangDayTrip #CulinaryExploration

I was born in Taiping and spent all my schooling years there. Used to stay in Aulong. Now I am settled in Sabah. Miss all the favourite food haunts of my childhood.
Cashier's Market Mee Rebus, Chicken Rice, Mee Kombat, Popiah, Chicken Soup Noodles and the Nyonya Kuehs.
Yut Sun was another favourite place along with Si San Ice Kacang
Wow so many more good places for me to try, thank you! I have been to Yut Sun and Larut Matang market previously. Aulong has a nice house which sells biscuits and cookies. Must go back again
Most welcome. I hope you get to try them and love it.
Love your videos and I want to wish the very best. Thanks for sharing. If you ever decide to make a holiday trip to Sabah. Please let me know. @@pishedbloke

Wah. Travel all the way to Taiping, Perak. Syok juga. I know, Perak's food really good. Quiet different from Penang. Still good to travel and sightseeing.
I like Taiping, don't mind retiring there one day
Hello brother your kids good not fussy to foods happy eating chiak par par😢😅😊
Enjoy your videos again sir... maybe next time you can post the price of the dishes ya 😉
ohhh so sorry I didn't pay for my food this time hahahaha! LOL
All the food in Taiping were about the same price or below Penang's. 😃
@pishedbloke - can provide authetic old taste must eat for a 3D2N Penang trip ? thanks
I think it boils down also to a few factors, such as own transport, how far you want to go, how big is your group etc. because there are also many great places to eat in Prai and BM. If you like mostly hawker food I have already recommended quite a few places on the island. I would say search for the unique or popular stuff in Penang such as Hokkien mee, White curry mee, wan than mee, char kuay teow, nasi kandar, roti canai... for dinners try Nyonya food, zi zhar or seafood, grilled fish (ikan bakar) to start.
@@pishedbloke thanks for prompt response and the recommendations. Do have own transport and mostly in island. Perhaps on departure could try mainland. Reaching out as these days just too many socmedia recommendations and rating which hhmmmm… that’s why reaching out to locals for hidden gems than those ‘populists’ as you may aware time constraint and want to ensure ‘worth-quota’ during the limited duration 😂
@@astrometaqua411 yes, I get similar comments from friends! Here are some of my suggestions, you can further research and see if it suits your taste:
Breakfast: Cecil St Market has most of the favourites; CKT, WTM, KTT, curry mee and then some like pasembur and nyonya kuih. Alternatives: Chowrasta market area coffeeshops, Seng Thor Coffeeshop at Kimberley Street.
Lunch: Nasi kandar my top 3 are Deens Maju, Merlin Nasi Kandar and Mohamad Raffee.
Dinner: Seafood zi zar is nice if you still have space... Tai Tong Teluk Bahang, Gertak Sanggul fishing pond or if in town, try Big Tree zi zar.
Notable restaurants to try across the bridge: Yoong Kee Teochew Restaurant or Heng Lee just next to it both serve almost the same things, BM famous Yam Rice, Tokyo Restaurant at Kg Benggali, at night can visit Wai Sek Kai at Chai Leng Park.
Google these few places, I am sure you will find good stuff there!
@@pishedbloke thanks mate for your time, cheers
👍👍👍
thank you!
@@pishedbloke welcome, enjoy 😄
How is the parking in Malaysia like? How to pay for all the parking if you find a space near the makan places you go?
We have private and public parking...most private parking can be paid using the TouchNGo card you use on the highway, or by a Wave credit card. Public parking can be paid by the appropriate city council app and also TnG app
@@pishedbloke ❤
Aiyaaa. Antong coffee is so over rated by some people?
I guess you are right, but I think it is OK lah to try. For me it is not the best but is quite alright for the taste
