Thank you for reacting to this one, Laine. This was the lead single off their third album, 1997's OK Computer. I believe their record company were initially reluctant to release it as the first single, but the band insisted and prevailed. Radiohead were already "on the radar" prior to OK Computer's release, but this song, and the album, catapulted them to to another level.
I'm sure I saw/read an interview with Thom years ago who said the lyrics are just nonsense. Maybe he was downplaying them. Comparisons are made, perhaps somewhat inevitably, to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, especially regarding the length of the song and the distinct musical sections in it. This song is definitely a grower - I remember first hearing it and instantly falling in love with the "rain down" part. After a few more listens, I loved the whole thing. There is a fantastic live performance from Later...with Jools Holland, which you can find on here, which is definitely well worth a watch.

First time hearing? I'm surprised! Even me, a non-Radiohead lover, knows this one, I seem to recall it being a pretty big hit back in the day. Really dislike it! 😂

Never heard it before. Wasn't liking the kinda loud guitar sound.

Hi Lainie. Thom Yorke has an interesting voice. I'd like to hear him do something non-Radiohead. I'm not a Radiohead fan, although I keep trying. This song? 👎Yuck! Not for me,
