- Both starting QBs go down in a hurry, so it's the battle of the backups in Minneapolis.

3:26 Joey Browner as a Buc, do not like.
8:51 So Dan Orlovsky was not the first QB to run out of the back of his own endzone at the Metrodome.
Funny you mention...that was the only game I was ever able to go to the Metrodome. We barely beat Detroit, but it was a blast.
Joey Browner looked much better in purple.
Dennis "New Sherrif in Town" Green's first season. One of my favorite year teams. This defense was absolutely incredible. Thank You funkydunkleman!!!
Why did he cut Joey browner. He looked like he could still play in this game
I started getting the Viking Update right about this time.
Hey you would have the bucs vs Vikings 1991 week 10
Doleman was *such* a monster! I bought a 1987 Sideline Jacket, and I got 56 embroidered on the sleeve.
Reggie Cobb's one good year.
Funny that as a Viking fan I regret not giving Sean Salisbury more of an opportunity than Rich Gannon. Gannon had a below average arm, very little velocity. Gannon thrived with Rice and Brown in Oakland where they rarely asked him to throw over 15 yards, but I don't think Gannon could have been a star in any ol offense. Salisbury had a rocket for an arm, he averaged well over 300 yards per start with the Vikings. He went 1-3 in his 4 starts the next year, but averaged 350 yards passing per game with 9 TDS and 6 int. Unfortunately the defense and run game didn't show up for him. I thought he passed the eye test and looked quite promising.
Gannon had a Christian Ponder arm, total soft tosser.
That TD throw to Carter was sick. He had the tools. He must have been an unlikeable punk or something.
I saw more than enough of Salisbury. His lack of mobility is legendary. I also saw more than enough of Gannon. I would rate both QBs as a hair below average. Gannon had better mobility than SS, and SS had a better arm than Gannon.
Deberg was at least 36 years old back then I think and RIP Denny Green, his weight had to do with his death. SAD!
@@jimnfl7134 if Craig Erickson started in '92 Wyche would have had a playoff team . Vinny had WAY too many chances. Should have traded him.
2 Hall of Famers on that defensive line
2 hall of famers and 3 Super Bowl winners on that Vikes o line as well.
Yeah and Thomas was no slouch either!
Keith Millard was on a HOF trajectory as well.
This one hurt seeing Joey Browner on the opposing team.
I had no idea Joey Browner played out his career in Tampa Bay.That one surprised me.
@@deanladue5367 Dang. He seemed to be playing fine for TB. :\
@@deanladue5367 It's just a shame he couldn't finish out his career with MN...but the business is the business, I guess.
@@deanladue5367di millard ever play a game with the Vikings after the knee injury
@@deanladue5367 thanks
Check out the score box CBS used this game. I have never seen that before. Was this the only time they ever used it?
Floyd Peters sighting. I forgot that he moved on to the Bucs after being with the Vikes.
@@deanladue5367 - I think Floyd left a year earlier.
@@Zoyx Yes. He did interview for the BUCS head coaching job after 1991 but Sam Wyche got it and agreed to keep him on. I think Floyd would have done better as HC.
Anthony Carter and Chris Carter what a duo.
Can you do 2010 Bills Vs Vikings???
As a lifelong Bucs fan, I knew that during this game that the team was still way too slow, still had little depth, and still was years away from being competitive.
Almost NO ONE in 1992 thought that 30 years later, Tampa would have two rings and Minnesota would remain at zero.
Never knew Joey Browner ended up on Tampa Bay.
How they won this game truly was a team effort.
Salisbury somehow is in Houston radio these days.
I remember him being so obnoxious when he was on ESPN
NEVER GOT A FAIR SHOT ---------------- SUPER BOWL CHAMP RICH GANNON
We gave him lots of chances here in n Mini. He always seemed super hesitant to throw the ball and would hang onto it way too long. Probably due to his super weak arm, he's like I can't squeeze it in there with my arm.
He never won a Super Bowl.
