Michael you have the ability to mix the practical side of life with the importance of appreciating the ‘now’ in life. The gifts of nature which we sometimes forget to stop and watch. Thank you 🙏
Micheal, I really miss your intro and the music, especially the part where you say: “My name is Micheal and I am going to show you what it’s like to live, work and play at Chateau the la Basmaingee”. Or something like that. Great to see the progress on your cottage! The old oak beams are so beautiful. 😻
Yes, Martyn is a lovely, hard-working man. Does anyone know the breed of that gorgeous dog? Oooh, Michael, you must be so pleased with the progress and how amazing it already looks! I am claiming the Gardener's Cottage as my own in my dreams as it will be both homely and peaceful.
@@CherylSimser most likely a White Swiss, beautiful temperament, love their owners and generally ignore other humans and dogs. We have one crossed with a golden retriever.

Such a nice man. A man who takes pride in his work and it shows. Micheal your mom and dad raised you'll right. Good for you for showing this man's work.

Michael, props to you for giving a shout-out to Martyn's sandblasting business. He's quite easy-going, that chap. Before and after shots of those support beams is remarkable. Also, the reveal of the few blue(?) stones was a pleasant surprise. Cheers to the cottage progress! :) (Watching in San Francisco, CA, USA)
Thank you for that peaceful ending, I just finished my breakfast while watching and it was so nice to sit back and relax. Everything's looking great Michael!
The beams are beautiful but what a nice surprise how the stairs as well as the wall came up. Gorgeous! Can’t wait for the Aga Saga to end and be installed. So much to look forward to.
Absolutely fascinating watching the sand blasting Michael. Its a big and important step. The beams look beautiful. the chap was very keen doing his work. The roam around the garden at the end was lovely, love the fruit trees and pumpkin!
Wow! What a difference that made. Both to the cottage and the aga. So exciting, seeing everything coming together. Much Love, from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦... Keli 💖
@doing it ourselves - Michael thanks so much for the birthday wishes and what great progress you are making on the cottage - you should be so proud. Look forward to catching up on Friday evening for the next installment and you have a fantastic birthday on Friday too :)
Nothing like progress! A great thing to hire someone to do a job and they do it excellently. A very satisfying day! With a little bit of contemplation at the end on the B roll, my favorite part.
Great job done, I know your guy will get loads of work now. Great to see Dad there, his spirit is huge!!! God bless him forever!!! Thanks For Sharing!!! Gorgeous 🐕!
A job exceedingly well done by Martin. Things are starting to take shape & progress. So it looks like Christmas dinner at your cottage for the family. Well done Michael. You deserve all that’s good because of your kindness in helping others & your perseverance. God Bless.
I can start to envision how your cottage will be. It is going to be beautiful! Thank you for bringing us along with your journey. I also enjoyed seeing dad sneaking a peak!
This sand blasting is a game changer, the beams are going to be beautiful!!! Love your interest in restoring the cottage. I agree the wall under the stairs will look great exposed. Awesome sunset and grounds. I love seeing the Lebanon Cedars ... and lovely white kitty. Oh those apples and pears!!!
Wood - amazing..Aga parts - amazing..Video and music - amazing...so excited for you Michael..the cottage is going to be stunning...still love that door colour 👍
I just love the way the cottage turned out. I was thrilled to hear you say you were going to leave an interior wall exposed by the stairs! It will look fabulous. You photography at the end is 😍 beautiful. Very relaxing . Thank you for sharing a piece of your world with us.
I finally caught up!! I’ve been watching since late July and this is the first new video I’ve watched on time! I’m in love with this series. You can tell that this is a labor of love and it makes it so enjoyable to watch. Thank you for sharing your corner of France with the rest of the world. The cottage looks wonderful! xx
✨💎✨👏👏👏 Ahhhh, SO exciting to see life re-emerging in the woodgrain and Auger !! Just WonderfuL... and your footage afterwards brought an unbelievable sense of tranquil beauty and peace❕🙌🏻😊🌸 Thank you.
Michael I am so glad that you have decided to leave some of the stonework visible near the stairs. The beams and stairs look great after the sandblasting. I can see now that your home is going to be fantastic! I am happy for you!
My goodness. What a difference that has made to the cottage I can’t wait to see the rest of it bit by bit. You r getting there won’t be long now it’s going to look lovely definitely agree with you about the wall should be kept it adds character with the wood as well keep going. Stay safe
Wow what a brilliant transformation, so satisfying to see the results of the sandblasting, Martyn’s a good bloke, got to be, he takes his mate to work with him! 🐶😊 Beautiful end to a hard days work, just love your artistry, the combination of nature and music, many thanks 🙏 Have a great day on Friday 16th! 😜🍸🍸🍸🎂💐🍾🥂🎉 CHERRS
Love his doggie just relaxing in his truck. Just cant get over how those stairs & stone wall look amazing..Never thought those Beams Would look that good! Happy fir you..cabtvwait tok see you cooking food in this cottage! Very inspiring.
It’s coming along nicely. So many individual pieces to a restoration. The glass he used to blast your area works well but like silica it can damage lungs. One of my doctors is down the hall from one of the 9/11 clinics where I live and there was a tremendous amount of severe long term lung damage for weeks after the buildings collapsed in the World Trade Center area. Lots of plate glass and other dust. Try to remember to wear an N 95 mask for jobs like this and in the area when cleaning up afterwards.
I recall being a cleaner in a beautiful old farmhouse, they had the beams sand blasted, as the cleaner I was finding the sand stuff for weeks after. Lol. It seemed to just turn up. X
Great Job Martyn - the difference in the wooden beams before and after is amazing !! Morning Sky colours are so vibrant & magical - Maybe you could make some jam with the pears & apples - perfect on toast on those wintery Saturday & Sunday mornings !! Kitty is quite the poser, walking so daintily - the cottage is going to look stunning when completed

Aren't there any French people in France?? Everyone is British.. lol !
All the Brits left UK!
Brexit lol.
You cannot get French people doing jobs, there days and months go by before you can pin them down to start a job. Lol
I was just wondering the same thing lol
I don’t blame them leaving the UK..I’d thought of moving and getting a chateau there.
But certain people don’t want to come.
