Funny. Except those three can walk in without practice or sheet music and play without a flaw straight to recording.

@@t2dev Funny, when speaking of McLaughlin or De Lucis (or any musician of their caliber) I would not consider anyone who has put in as many hours of woodshedding and countless hours practicing their improvising over changes to be "without practice". And no jazz musician would say that they don't make flaws. When you play spontaneous or improvised music, part of the skill is the ability to take unintended events into music. Musicians take their "errors" and make them into a most seemless musical variation or turn within the tune they are playing.

Also, Paco De Lucia was so humble he was scared of playing jazz because, despite him being a genius flamenco player, he recognized there was so much to learn about improvisation at such a level.

Just beautiful rendering! I just watched an interpretation of it by Mancuo and Al di Meola; they are both good too, but for me THIS interpretation really does it!

-- no artificial lengthening of the original theme;
-- Josh's souvereign playing!
