I just came back today from a 5 day 4 night stay. Met quite a few people doing their 1st or 2nd camp out. Guy next to me hooked back up and I asked if he was leaving. He said no, he was practicing hooking up and dumping. Apparently doing precise backing also because he left his leveling boards and jack supports w/o moving his side table. Thanks for your video, you're doing great!

That was fun, thanks for sharing. I learned a trick for when you want to back a trailer up in a straight line going a long distance. Attempting to go straight back will cause the trailer to go off course. The trick is as you're backing up move the steering wheel slightly left and right, left and right, left and right, while watching the trailer and you will see it steer slightly back and forth while staying on your desired path.

So nice. Glad your trailer is doing well and you are a good driver and able to hook up nicely. The park looks great. I think we visited that park back in 2018 on Valentine's Day and it was quite crowded. Just a day trip that day. Our local camping trip with our RV was at Juniper Springs near Ocala in the Ocala National Forest that same year. We have since moved West to Arizona. I certainly did enjoy the 8 years we lived in Central FL.

Very well done young lady! I dig the manatees. If I may suggest, try all your utilities before you unhook your rig. Might have to change spots if something is not working. Might want to get an inline water filter for your hose. And check your trailer lights by turning on your emergency flashers and doing a quick walk around if you're alone. Safety first! lol.

A thought occurred to me when you were taking off your Weight Distributing Hitch at camp. I don't use one on my F150 and I tow a Casita 17 foot that weighs about 2600 lbs. I found that if your truck is 4600 lbs and your trailer is 2000 lbs less than that, the trailer will not affect your handling. The other reason for using a WDH is to make the trailer level when you hitch up, but my truck (and I'm sure your Tundra) doesn't sag when the trailer is put on the ball. An easy test for you would be to measure the distance in inches from the ground to the top of the fender well on your truck 1) when it is empty and 2) when the trailer is put on the ball (don't level the trailer with the sway bars. just with it attached at the ball). If the difference in inches measures less than 1-2 1/2 inches between 1) and 2) you don't need a WDH to level the trailer. The other test is for you to hookup the trailer only on the ball and drive your rig around as you normally would to see if you are comfortable with it. I suspect the RV folks sold you the WDH because you had a smaller (therefore lighter) truck when you bought it. If you feel more comfortable with the WDH in place by all means use it. I don't and I love the fact that I can pull in , hook all my hoses up and be in a beach chair inside 15 minutes every time with a cold drink wherever I go.

I will definitely look into this. Thank you so much for the information! I use the bars when I go on long trips. I can feel less sway especially when it’s windy with the bars on. I don’t mind putting them on, it doesn’t take long.

Fellow 15TB owner here🌞 Keep up the content, enjoying it. I see you switched from the Tacoma to the Tundra, I know the Tundra is better at towing, what specifically didn’t you like about the Tacoma as far as towing? Thanks!

    • @lifewithstephanie42

I loved my Tacoma and didn’t change vehicles by choice, but now that I switched to the Tundra, I feel a big difference in towing. The Tacoma definitely worked harder going up hills so I now question how it would have done in the mountains. Other than that the Tacoma pulled the trailer just fine. But with the Tundra, I barely feel the trailer behind me👍
