Over several years this has been one of my favourite videos on you tube. I have owned 2 fiat 850s both with 903cc kit - a red one and a white one. Loved every minute of owning them. The sound you get from the Abarth is gold. Thanks for making and posting this video.
What awesome car...Personally I own a Fiat 850 coupe (1965) powered by the 843cc unit engine(47hp), but I did little modifications such as sport air filter and fuel pump. It runs great!!!
I have had to come back to this after finding it earlier this morning. It is a valuable cultural document & shows a Melbourne unknown to most people. Great little film.
I am injection and weber carb specialist in Germany located in Stuttgart. Older cars need some additional protection against the E10 fuel and E5 fuel these fuels contain aggressive ethanols and this causes fuel system corrosion and engine wear. A good two stroke oil contains ceratin additives to preventing these aggressive radical chemistry in modern fuel. I wish you some fun with your nice vintage car!
I droved that Car in The 80s For a friend with The 47PS Version , amazing Drive in circles with Back engine and Back draft by rainy weather .,without Heat and Fan,Like blind fish, kittle Killer Car,think with Abarth Tuning ITS aRipper,TfU
Nice ;) I hoppe my grandpa give it 2 me on my birthday, now that i have drive licence :P Can u make a video with it pls? I realy love the sound of it, diferent of all fiat i know. Does yours have electronic ignition? My granpa bought it on italy on rally festival.
I drove a berlina version daily in the Melbourne centre with no problems but that motor was milder and only the rear radiator. The coupe with its large radiator up front and larger motor out the back never came close to over heating even with a hot cam and high compression pistons.
The engine gearbox setup is the same except it has 1000cc Abarth parts fitted.I have all the parts and complete motors.I built up the exact setup for a Lombardi in Qld and it flies.I can also supply you with a similar motor. Its all period correct according to the Abarth specs.
Thanks, greetings back from Amsterdam.Version 2 will be filmed in Amsterdam, maybe the Niuewe Spiegel Straat which has a nice 'Y'ump.(I am sure i will only have 1 shot at it though).
can someone please educate me on that motor? I want it in my 850 spider so badly! It goes and sounds so good! It is also straight piped right (no muffler)?
+:D Standard Fiat block but with bigger Abarth everything inside (1050cc).Car has a large mufflar,no straight through pipe. Abarth 98BHP Vs Fiat 850 std 52BHP. See Sofiaabarth on Facebook.
a piece of history!!!"
greetings from TURIN,Italy, the house of this little beauty!!

Fantastic car, footage and editing.
Pacing and feel of a classic 60's piece.
Great cars. Natural surrounding : Small mountain streets at the mediterranian sea !
Great vid, great sounds. I know those streets well too. Used to be a cool little area to drive a car around that rail bridge..
Wow, I would have NEVER thought that a car that is pretty rare in Italy has actually a decent following on the other side of the planet!! HAHAHA!!
Entertaining footage!!. I have noticed you have the Historic rego plates , so I guess you were heading off to a Fiat club event.(Ha Ha)
Haha looks like North Melbourne. Nice sounds.
