I’m from Mexico City, and let me tell you that this video was spot on. People can not afford to stay home, most of us have to go out to work. I’m 18 years old, bound for college, and I didn’t have my graduation, and can’t look for a summer job to afford my tuition. I really hope that this situation goes away soon, although it’s not realistic. Stay safe everyone!!!!

Recently a relative of mine died and news spread about him dying from coronavirus. Later we learned it was kidney failure. So i can see why sometimes the government would not add probably cases to the confirmed cases list. Sometimes its to not induce panic. But a lot of times its some sort of political motivation

The point is though the protests are for good reason, the virus doesn't discriminate and the protests (large groups of people gathered together for HOURS & HOURS) will cause Covid to spread. More people WILL be ill because of the protests. And more of those sick people will die because of the protests.
Two - Three weeks from now we'll see spikes in these places. I sincerely hope the hospitals aren't overwhelmed by demand at that point but I don't have any delusion they won't be.

My friend in Tijuana her mother died and it was going to take a week before anyone could come pick up the body. Luckily they found a funeral home that came that day and they where able to burry her mother in 3 days

My cousins father in law died of it and they didn’t let them see him and when he died they immediately cremated him they didn’t let them take him to bury him.
I live in México and let me tell you people do NOT care, when we were still not allowed to go out people continued to live their life's normally and continued leaving their house everytime they wanted even if it wasn't necessary. It doesn't help our president is very stupid saying such things like "an amulet will save us". At this point I can't help to think the worst is yet to come and people do not care, im very thankful only one person in my family is leaving the house for basic needs. This is my thrid month without leaving my home and I certainly don't plan on leaving it soon since everyday the deaths are higher.
Surely you should take a walk (but keep a safe distance from others) once in a while to keep healthy.

I feel forcing a culture whose tradition it is to bury their dead and celebrate that life, to now have to cremate is devastating to their way of life. A funeral and the celebration of life is a way of closure for the living. Not having that opportunity can be emotionally and mentally detrimental. So sad. ❤️❤️🙏🙏
To be fair, it's not like Americans took peacefully to the government telling them to stay isolated. They shout "freedom" when told to do something they don't want to do. I agree though that this is definitely a shock to cultures in Mexico with such long-standing traditions concerning how they celebrate life and death. You're not going to get many people willingly stepping out of their comfort zones and asking themselves uncomfortable questions about what they're doing.

My daughter works in a nursing home. She says she has seen more death and devastation in the last three months then she has seen in her 20 years of nursing. I've had three friends who have had relative die over the last two weeks all in their fifties and under in good health. This is real folks. Please take it seriously.

I tested positive while pregnant with mild symptoms thank God my baby was negative once born and I recovered perfectly fine from covid19.But that doesn't mean we can't get reinfected once again so let's be safe out there because I see alot of people getting very comfortable while out in public.

Good to see international news outlets shining a light on the terrible, terrible handling of the Mexican government with this pandemic. Earlier I saw New Zealand lifted their restrictions, and contained the virus. I’m so happy for them, but I can’t help but be mad at how our government did nothing to prepare the country for this. Our public health system, which is the backbone of Mexico’s healthcare for the working classes, is overwhelmed. Doctors and nurses are getting infected, and many are dying, because there is not enough PPE. In some hospitals, the directives are telling the medical staff to wear the same N95’s for several days. It would’ve been nice if you could interview doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other medical staff.

It probably depends on what part you live in. I live in a better part of Mexico City, but I have a couple relatives that live in the Nezahualcoyotl suburb as mentioned in the video. This video seems to be somewhat accurate. Of course, the media likes to exaggerate some things. Money does talk. People are dying. Stupid conspiracies are arising. At least I live in a part where people take this matter seriously.
