    Worth every dollar! Im currently using the 3500 predator model with their expansion tank in the palmetto, FL area that was hit hard from hurricane Milton. I filled it before the hurricane hit and while everyone is scrambling for gas its been running strong keeping the fridge cold and the portable a/c unit going for 2 days now and i haven’t had to worry about running out while sleeping or being away from the house helping neighbors. So happy i bought this to support a local company but also the fact its a great quality tank like the guy said will probably out last the generator itself. Highly recommended this to my family and friends, great product!

      Does the tank block the fuel gauge? I was hit hard by Milton too in FL. I didn't buy enough gas, and would need to know if I'm running out.

    Won’t work for me, ‘cause my generator is right at my limit to lift. Plus, I need the handles unobstructed. But what a wonderful idea for those that it will work for! Maybe a bit pricey, but you have to pay two prices for everything today.

  • @dragonfalcon8474

    This seems awesome. I'm thinking of getting a Predator 5000. But it looks like these things block the fuel gauge? Is there another way to tell how much fuel is remaining without taking the whole thing off? Especially here in FL, during Milton, there was no gas anywhere, and I ran out.

      Looks to me like you could shut the generator down, remove the filler cap on the aux tank and take a look to see if the tank is empty. Refill and go again. During my outage after Beryl, I kept notes and figured out I was getting about 2 hours runtime for gasoline and propane on my generator. That helped to guesstimate how long it would run before needing a refill/swap. 8 days total (192 hours of runtime).

With a major in mechanical engineering and a minor in materials engineering if you think the cost of that metal and butt welding it with a fitting is 349 dollars. I’ll I can do is prey for you cause your the customer they want. Think about it. A 349 dollar piece of metal is half the cost of a generator. Common sense alarm going off here. • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  3 місяці тому +2

      @Cody8P no he couldn’t. Because his data is unrealistic especially for an engineer which seems typical. Here’s how to do it…. But not really knowing the finished cost. Hence most jobs like buildings, freeways, and more always cost more than original budget. Unrealistic expectations.
      You need mass amount of material. Sheet aluminum and block aluminum. All your welding supplies and a giant CNC machine. People who know how to work and program the cnc machine and people who know how to weld up the tanks by hand and also purchase the rest of supplies needed to finish it plus paying a powder coat facility and more to get it to your door. Plus paying for the building and employees and more.
      If they could mass produce then sure it could come down in price some, but you have to invest in robots and more and majorly scale. Could it be offered at a cheaper price…maybe. Would it be worth it at that point after costs…probably not.
      People want USA made products until it’s time to pay USA pricing. But will still complain everything is from over seas. So here we are…..

  • @wt9653

    So what's the point of having an expansion tank?
    You just made it top heavy.
    You still have to top off the fuel when empty?
    You're only talking about filling it once more with a gas can.
    Is it worth $300 for a gimmicky idea?
    Just keep a 5 gallon tank of gas handy nearby 😂
