It's true about what you said about deep engagement with the human voice: It's actually got lots of research behind it! Much like we are incredibly adapted to find faces (eyes and mouths) the auditory system is adapted to listening to human voices. Most processing for sounds happens in the auditory cortex but the human voice actually has a specialised area called the STS. And it is incredibly sensitive, it's attuned to even "voice-like" sounds - so it can be said by using the voice as a synth it will be more stimulating and more engaging even on a psychological level!
Oooohhh so I think this is how Flume has achieved a similar effect on some of his songs (particularly in his album “Skin”). I’ve always wondered about this specifically, never imagined they were distinct notes
Now that I’m hearing it, that’s such a unique sound! And ive heard it EVERYWHERE! I always wondered why I loved the OST for “Sheepo” so much AND THATS WHY! It’s a human voice turned into the music!
Isn't this just the same thing as a randomizing arpeggiator? Play your chords and just let the arpeggiator one-shot randomly, or however you want. Makes me chuckle when I see an expensive program like this put their own spin on such an esoteric thing, give it a cute name, and then promote it as a feature unique to that program.
That's why I love the shawzin minigane in warframe. Basically a guitar hero in Warframe and there is an instrument that sounds like a female choir it's really pretty.
I just recently used bouncy notes. I didn’t see the gravity setting. I’ll have to check that out again. Bouncy notes makes a lot of things possible. I used it for sci fi atmospheric music.
If you’re using intro you may or may not have this audio plug in. The different levels in ableton have different things it comes with. Intro has a very limited amount of stock plug ins compared to the suite which has them all. I would check the website to see if you have this in your version
i've been pondering just staying with intro. with the other options you get far too many plugins, you get max, you get all those tracks and just so many more rabbit holes to go down that will distract you from making music. lite is basically useless, except as an enticer, but intro strikes a good middle ground. just freeze and resample stuff and you shouldn't need more tracks
My favorite example of this type of thing is 1979 by smashing pumpkins. Not done with ableton obviosuly but that weird sound that keeps playing that sort of sounds like a guitar is billy corgans voice stretched and pitched.
I have never seen software like Ableton where you are able to BOUNCE NOTES! Never heard that once in my life. Amazing! 😇 P.S. Your production is super clean. Also, love the way you express your love for music and sharing your thoughts and ideas. Helps new producers like me. 😌💯
its the frequency where human voice lays that is attractive to us. Its also enhanced. if you completely change it there is nothing. but interesting sound engeneering sure, why not.

My theory is that all sounds are understood by our brain in relation to natural sounds. The human voice is the most natural, relatable sound for us. We enjoy unnatural sounds also _because_ they veer from what we expect and shock us in a sense. It's a rebellious act.
Small side note, if you are into modular, you can get bouncy notes with 'after later audio' 'Baker' or 'rainier' or 'peek'(might be messing up the title on that one). It's a clone of a mutable instruments module. Happy need dead man's catch firmware. Yeah. Love that module. It does everything. I could use like six of them. A case full even
ik we dont say his name but its something kanye has done for forever in including vocalized instruments in his beats and you can actually track his shift from using vocals in the form of soul samples into more of using instruments as direct instruments throughout his album run (college drop out - ye all the rest arent real)
Vital the free synth actually can do so too. All you have to do is record your voice or mix a sound, export the WAV file, click and drag the wave file over the wavetable and you can use the LFO to move the wave table up and down to follow through with the sound wave. Then you can adjust the speed of the LFO to fit how fast or slow you want it to go. This is for anyone who isn't using Abelton. Or in my case Studio One 6...
