Bet you think that when a cop asks to search you that you are required to let him search you or face jail time. Reason I believe that you likely believe this is these shows never show anyone using and asserting their 4th amendment right to be secure in their persons, property, papers, houses and effects from un-warranted search and seizure where no probable/reasonable cause/suspicion based on a set of facts is(i.e Saw a bag of meth in cup holder or fact I smell weed or fact their tail light is out)

What? Bull. I recently got pulled over, he asked to search, i said no I'm not doing anything wrong. He brought the dog, dog "alerted" (not true at all) and they searched the car. I cussed them out a plenty during the process and they continued making threats. They found nothing because I had nothing. Let me go as i informed him of his worth.

Because its their right. They don't air the stops that result in have a nice day. Also any evidence found as a result of an unlawful search will be thrown out. Something as simple as the k9 taking too long to arrive on scene will be enough to supprees the weed and gun.

What I love in all of these is They all seem to have no license, insurance, or registration. They think just give me a ticket so I can move on. Algernop Krieger Fun Fact: .22 calibers are the most used weapon in deadly shootings. You have a better chance walking off with a bullet going through you rather than a 22lr bouncing around in your body shredding you into pieces.
Hexatious Coming out of a handgun the 22lr has alot less velocity than it would out of a rifle. I dont see it bouncing around in anyones rib cage like its made of rubber. Im not saying it wont kill you or hurt but im pretty sure the whole bouncing around and shredding your insides to pieces thing is just a myth. Been shooting forever and never bounced a 22lr around inside anything and shredded it to pieces.
.22 lr is very lethal especially with a headshot it won't go through and through and will scramble your brains very likely you will die from one shot to the head from this caliber it's statistically more lethal than being shot with a higher velocity bigger bullet such as
a .45 in that the bigger gun will go through and exit. Hitmen are known to carry .22's
WHAT IS THIS; A GUN FOR *ANTS?*
There's a few things bothering me about this traffic stop:
1) The officer states that if he finds nothing that he will be sent on his way with a ticket if they find nothing. Clearly, he is at that point detained and not under arrest, therefore the argument that he was allowed to search the car as incident to arrest is invalid further proven by the fact that he did not go inside the vehicle until the dog allegedly hit on the vehicle.
2) The case law Rodriguez vs USA clearly states that an officer cannot prolong a traffic stop to allow a K-9 unit to conduct this particular type of search. The officer stated if theres something in there then we'll talk about that. The officer had not at any point provided reasonable suspicion for the K-9 search, direct violation of the case law.
3) I understand that possession is ninth-tenths of the law and the officer would be malfeasant if he ignored the items found after the search (illegal or not) but the even the officers had trouble opening the trunk so it is very possible that our Rastafarian gentlemen had no knowledge of the items in the trunk or that the trunk would even open. A half decent lawyer would be able to get the everything dropped related to the search.
4) The editing of these clips doesn't allow me to see everything involved in the search. This makes it hard to know if he was Mirandized or if there is further information that would be used to determine what this show aims to project, which is wether the cops are conducting themselves correctly in the line of duty.
5) His aggression, demeanor, appearance, or prior record should not have played into any judgement made by the officers but unfortunately the officer mentioned that he was a convicted felon, which (in regard for the original reason for the traffic stop and the finding of the invalid license) were irrelevant. I will also use this point to say that police officers in general use the way you present yourself to aid or attack. This is seen throughout many of the discretionary episodes were the officer will state "you were honest and seem like a good guy" or something along those lines. Please, if you are pulled over, respectfully comply as much as possible. This is not to say that if you do not want to be searched that you should give your consent anyway.

Quite amazing that LIVE PD uploads clear 4 th amendment violations - Supreme Court already ruled that detaining someone for the purposes of a sniffer dog is illegal - cop admits it himself
He wasn't being detained at that point. He was under arrest as a convicted felon driving suspended. At that point they have all the PC they need to warrant a dog search. They have to search any car they impound anyways.
The order of events: Pulled over for driving stupid. Tries do get driver docs (driver has none). Asks for consent to search, does not get it. Runs driver (comes back suspended and a felon). Arrests driver. Open air search with dog for a car they are about to impound. More drugs and another gun off the street.

That's not how it works. First of all, that's the #1 lie "it's my friends" and second when you get behind the wheel of *any* car, you legally take responsibility for what's inside the car. You're literally supposed to check it first, make everyone wear seatbelts etc. unless it is a passenger with something in their personal purse or bag.
