Very touching.. that $800.00 in fines might as well be $100,000 to that guy right now.. Sure hope he gets back on his feet and breaks that downward spiral.
Bobby Robertson Exactly! The officer said "not too bad" and I was like "that actually is kinda bad" Since they're living out of their car, their main focus is finding a safe place to sleep in said car, somewhere they won't be caught and shooed off. Not to mention trying to feed themselves, trying to find a place to take showers, trying to find solid jobs so they can get a residence and get their children back... $800 isn't feasible when you've got all of that going on. I hope a miracle happens for them so they don't have to struggle anymore..
Katie Glass exactly right! Steere might think that $800 is reasonable since he’s working a stable job probably paying around $50,000/year, but they might not even have $800 in their checking accounts. Ofc. Steere is always a great guy, one of my favorites on Live PD.
Officer Steere you are a good man. That little bit of goodness means a lot to that guy and his wife. I wish we had more understanding officers like you. Thank you for all that you do.
They are not altruistic cops, it costs the city money to arrest him. And the jails dont need more people.... they need bad people or people who can pay (fines) to get out...
@iTheGeek its appropriate usage in the context of the statement its referencing. You've been UA-cam overruled in this instance. The police have some wiggle room in their procedures when the media is present.
I bet if you asked the cop, he'd turn down an offer of promotion if it meant that he never had to deal with those types of white people "know" the law better than he does. You know the ones. "that's entrapment" "i know my rights" "that's illegal!" "you're hurting my wrists"
Great example of the whole "officers discretion" thing.. When my boyfriend and I were living in our car and got pulled over, the cops made the choice to arrest us on citable offenses (as in, they couldve just given us a ticket) and told us they were giving us a place to stay for at least one night... Trust me, from the way he said it and his attitude towards us the whole time, he was definitely not trying to just be nice and provide shelter..
And then you're going to have to deal with a scumbag wrecker who took your car. Pay whatever they ask to get your "home" back when you're let out of jail. He KNEW exactly what he was doing. He was punishing you because he didn't like you for reasons that are out of your control. This is my experience with cops for my entire life and even though I've never met a nice one or been given a break, I still treat them with respect. I don't want to, I don't like it, but what other choice do you have? They have the power and the guns to ruin your life. Scumbag pigs.
Oh yeah, and to anybody who thinks staying a night in jail is better than living on the street, go try it for yourself and let me know how you like it. I'd take my uncomfortable freedom over your jail any day. The ONLY exception to this may be if we're talking about a night where it's below freezing but even then, I probably would not want to stay in a jail. They are designed to be uncomfortable places so people with charges take plea bargains rather than going to trial.
Much respect to this officer! He could have easily handcuffed him and put him in jail but decided not to. Thats good judgment from a compassionate cop and human being. Well done officer! 👍👍
Man its good to see cops that actually care about people. Major props to this officer. Understanding what they are going through, I have been in spots like that in life and all you can do is try to survive, not paying old tickets
Awesome cop, seriously. He did what he could to help them and he didnt have to. But they were honest with him and didnt try to hassle him or run or lie about it. So he helped them out. Wonderful cop and now a year later I pray these two are in a better situation and are getting to be with their children.
sometimes people need a hand and not cuffs!! if more cops had a heart and compassion this world would be freaking amazing i bet!!! and AARON STEERE #1 add one thing tho wanna see this happen to other people of different colors and we'll without messing up this amazing start ...
Excellent character of this officer. Dude is hurting hard, and that ticket could've been the final blow. I hope they get the help they need, and that they get their situation fixed. Good work, officer. Amazing compassion
I pray God sends this couple some blessings.. I watched my parents struggle and you never really understand as a kid ..until you grow up and truly get it.
See? Be honest, there are some great cops out there and I can say I'm so proud we do in Sylacauga and childersburg Alabama. They don't get enough credit.
Great to see cops being human and understanding to reality’s situations. Kudos to the cop. Hope some of the bad apple abusive cops watch these videos showing how to deal with things without the need to escalate to violence or abused
This truly is a great few minutes, I'm glad it is documented and I hope this very respectable man has turned up on some good luck. Thanks for treating these two with respect officers.
Best cop in the world I think even though it was nothing worse this cop should get a promotion and teach some cops how to do there job he knows understand his. Great job officer
I bet livepd would get a lot more publicity if they started showing these types of videos and attaching a link for a GoFundMe for these people. It would be good for everyone all around.
When this guy gets too old to work the street, I want him teaching in the police academy. He looks like the type of cop who takes no nonsense, but he also has a heart and knows how to put himself in another person's shoes.
there is a million officers like this. dont just blame all cops for problems. support the blue line. they could save your life or property someday. be respectful it goes a long way.
Very touching.. that $800.00 in fines might as well be $100,000 to that guy right now.. Sure hope he gets back on his feet and breaks that downward spiral.

Bobby Robertson If he we’re poor then why brake laws you can’t afford to make amends. I don’t feel anything for these bums
you should be thankful for such an enlightened perspective on the world.@@americanpatriot8426
Bobby Richardson ~God Bless YOU.. Awesome to see kindness displayed😎😍 Bless a compassionate soul..👍
Officer Steere, you sir are a gentleman and a beautiful human being.
The driver was honest and respectful, that goes such a long way to NOT GETTING ARRESTED
Not like the ponytail gangster in Oklahoma 😂
Yeah if you're white
@@juangiraldo8765 LMAO that guy was human trash
@@layla.lavender Nope, I've seen episodes here where black men were honest and they got out of trouble.
S R victim mentality loser. You’ll never be anything in life.
“The dogs like I told him not to drive “ 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That was funny and it was nice of him to do that.
“I knew this would happen” 😂
Hahahaa i love it

Stupid Humans
Officer Steere you are a good man. That little bit of goodness means a lot to that guy and his wife. I wish we had more understanding officers like you. Thank you for all that you do.
Could not agree more. My initial thought of cops are not good, this video made it a little better.
They are not altruistic cops, it costs the city money to arrest him. And the jails dont need more people.... they need bad people or people who can pay (fines) to get out...
And don't forget the dog too. He didn't wind up in the pound. My heart went out to all of them. Thank you Officer Steere.
@iTheGeek its appropriate usage in the context of the statement its referencing. You've been UA-cam overruled in this instance. The police have some wiggle room in their procedures when the media is present.
Officers like him deserve a raise and more stripes
This cop definitely has my respect, he did the right thing and for that I tip my hat to you sir!
Great cop. I lost it when he asked her if she could drive and she said “I’ll figure it out. We will do it.”
The situation that they're in is heartbreaking. This officer did the right thing. Amazing work--deserving of a promotion.

That’s what I like to see!! Beautiful!!! That’s a person that Deserves to wear the badge!! Good work officer 👮

I’m not ashamed to say when that woman said “I appreciate that” to the cop I burst out crying 😥
Much respect to this officer! He could have easily handcuffed him and put him in jail but decided not to. Thats good judgment from a compassionate cop and human being. Well done officer! 👍👍
Honesty, composure, and a kind police officer! Great day for live pd!

Made me cry. Thank you officer for being compassion🙏🙏
That's a real big guy to be living in the car, I feel sorry for them.
What most people don't understand is that: If you start with the absolute truth, with a police officer, they WILL try their very best to help.❤️🇺🇸❤️
What a lovely police officer. Polite, understanding and empathic.
sometimes people need a hand and not cuffs!! if more cops had a heart and compassion this world would be freaking amazing i bet!!! and AARON STEERE #1

Sometimes all it takes is one small break to get them on the right track.
Great police work. 👍
Someone should start a GoFund Me for him.
A cop with a moral compass 📍 need more of those
This cop just made my day. Seriously more cops need to take notes.
The fact that the dog didn’t even notice the cop at the window😂 Scooby too focused on that camera🐕🎥
Excellent character of this officer. Dude is hurting hard, and that ticket could've been the final blow. I hope they get the help they need, and that they get their situation fixed.
Good work, officer. Amazing compassion
Very humble officer. Mad respect for him
That officer is awesome. He knew they were living hard and instead of making it worse he lets em go. You dont find that too often
This is the type of compassion from police I like to see.
The 👮 did the right thing. Good Luck to the down & out couple. Hard Times.
I pray God sends this couple some blessings.. I watched my parents struggle and you never really understand as a kid ..until you grow up and truly get it.
I've always enjoyed video with this officer in it. He always tries to help out while upholding the law.

I do too! I don't know if the Police Dept would give out their information.
I bet livepd would get a lot more publicity if they started showing these types of videos and attaching a link for a GoFundMe for these people. It would be good for everyone all around.

Shout out Warwick RI police. I've been stopped by them a few times in my days and they're nothing but class acts from my experience.
Love all of the positive comments on this vid. You don’t see that happen very often on UA-cam!!
Bless that cop, went against regulations n followed his feelings.he was obligated to take him n bent the rules 💪🏾
I'm watching this on Thanksgiving morning and I'm crying.
Good luck to that family and God bless the PD and America
Why can’t more cops be like this? He’s right, you’re not helping anyone by arresting this man. He was honest and upfront with the cop too

The dog's like, I told him not to drive! (lmao)
When she cried my heart felt for her
Make a grown man cry what a great cop
Poor dude. Seems nice enough.
Due to his blunt honesty, the police cut him some slack.. That, folks, is how you cooperate with the police.
Probably the coolest cop ever!!
I sure wish all police officers were like that. He is a good guy and a good cop. God bless the family and that officer.
Amazing officer.
there is a million officers like this. dont just blame all cops for problems. support the blue line. they could save your life or property someday. be respectful it goes a long way.

The kids were at their parents but hey, the dog was there being fed and taken care of.
Great service. Never kick a man while he is down. If he plays it smart he should not be driving no matter what
This is the best stop I've ever watched...
Wish more cops were like this guy.
That's an awsome officer 🙏
