The or15 was the first head I got when I got back into playing guitar. As much as I loved it, it wasn’t the tone I was looking for in the long run, so I ended up selling it back to the guy who sold it to me, and he is back in love with it! Glad it’s getting the play time it deserved
i don't think it's good for like "moder modern" metal, but i am not a huge fan of the tone of modern metal - i like periphery and lorna shore is cool and all but like - i think the best part about orange or how it got so huge is like everything played through it has just gorgeous overtones, it just starts sounding so much more like a major chord and given the propensity of metal to use dissonance u just end up with these like massive complex almost consonant sounding shapes idk
Best tone i ever heard was on stage at the black cat. It wasnt mine. The venue provided a full jcm 800 marshall stack. 50 or 100 watts. Way to loud to be practical, but man when that got loud enough to break up the cleans into real overdrive? It dosnt get any better. No pedals are needed for a good amp. I had the or15 years ago and i did like it, but i dont like orange cabinets/speakers for spme reason it seems darker amd muddier. I recently got another or15 and paired it with my vox or marshall 112 cab, and man i am in love. Best small amp ive ever used.
I wouldn't say a Klon is like a tube screamer - they're both over drives but very different characters/approaches to overdrive, they're technically not alike at all
orange sounds like perfect 2008-2015 era metalcore and u know, lol it's what i want want that like underoath chasing safety/mastodon/etid thing u know?
The irony of being in bed and needing to be asleep, but not because you're watching this video, which then asks why I'm watching this video and bed and not sleeping.
I have one! Great little amp but it does need help going extra low and heavy. Depends heavily on a good cab and OD, but it has this gnarly little grainy, full sounding Orange gain structure.

that low-end sspeaker mix
advice is top notch.
I keep telling y’all that Orange is badass and very underrated for modern metal.

I JUST picked one of these up from FB marketplace with the matching cab for a stupid good deal. I'm absolutely in love with how it boosts with a 33.
The way that guitar positioned look like bruh got no pants

i LOVE my or15 it is an absolute beast from shimmering cleans to BRUTAL gain
Tones by SCIENCE! 🥼🔬
“Womph womph” is a very scientific term
I LOVED my or15. Great and simple little amp that had fantastic tones that was amazing for the price
Some serious filth and girth coming out of that little thing! Love it.
Metal is wide and ranging. I think its great for metal with a 70’s attitude.
What a tone in such an affordable price. Thank you for the demonstration.
I use an OR15 with a no-name 15" speaker from 1981 and a tube screamer. I get amazing metal tones with my 6 and 8 string and it's LOUD.
The nerdy stuff about the electronics is super interesting!

Very impressed with the knowledge here
I use to own this amp and loved it, just wish it had more then one channel
😂yeah for $749 they could have that clean channel no problem

Yeah a Klon is more suited to bringing out the high frequency, whereas a Tube Screamer is focused on mids.
Nice orange man that head was so cool I used a smaller of theirs it was unstoppable. And a little monster.
The micros are little monsters. It ran my 8x10 ampeg cab dang fine and oddly got a electric wizard tone right off the bat.
orange sounds like perfect 2008-2015 era metalcore and u know, lol it's what i want

All those bands used Marshall's I'm pretty sure, at least I know mastodon does.
2008 is when Orange went back into the Amp building business !

What is sound like with lead
Adam is amazing dude explains everything dude is a human EQ lmao
Have you tried the dark terror?
Is that a Karnivool riff? Sounds like it.
Best small head like that I've used is either the PRS Mark Tremonti amp or the 5150 III LB model.
But both of those have pretty different tone from each other and different than the Orange as well.
Sick iceman!
Nice one Gents (djents)
I'd love to see you try out the Terror Stamp by Orange! I haven't seen a low tuned metal person review it

Commodore 64. First thing I've noticed.
You should make a Discord, if you haven't already
MetaaaaaaaaaL, is just one of the things orange can do.
