When she was 7 her brother ( 2 years older ),would play the violin at the park, on the Queens day. Her Mom played violin and Dad on keyboards. She then said she wanted to do something. She decided she would try singing. First kiddy songs and then found operatic songs on UA-cam. She started copying others on You Tube. Practicing on her own, with help translating the words from her family only. At 9 years old went on Hollands Got Talent and won with over 50% of the vote. 4 years later you get this. Vocal coaches came after winning. Amira is the best in my opinion. Nice reaction.

In my opinion, there are four amazing people who are the best opera & classical crossover artists in the ENTIRE world today. Two are wonderful young ladies who are outstanding in their abilities, character, and beauty. Two are wonderful young men who are outstanding in their abilities, character, and humble nobility. They are Amira Willighagen, Laura Bretan, Jonathan Antoine, and Paul Potts. These four grand and awesome human instruments of vocal grace, in my opinion, have no equal among their peers in their genre of music! Love, love, love each of them, and may God bless their careers for decades to come!

Thank you for a grand reaction.This Performance was held on the 23 and 24 of June,2017, at Classics Is Groot concert,in Pretoria,South Africa.Amira sang two solo numbers,the traditional hymn, 'Amazing Grace',and 'Nessun Dorma,' from the opera Turnadot and also sang the'Flower duette from the opera 'Laksme,' with Corlea Botha, which in my opion is the best rendition of this song ever.Amira also sang two or three other numbers with a group of people.Cheers from, Michael Jonathan Lewis, Johannesburg.South Africa.
@Mark Grant You are correct, their voices are beautifully synchronised.I would love to hear Amira and Corlea sing 'Barcarole'and' 'On Wings Of Song.'by Felix Mendlessohn,two of my favourites.It is hard to believe that it is almost ten years since Amira won H G T and all she has achieved in such a shot period,and in fourteen days she will be nineteen,how time flies
She started watching opera on UA-cam and started singing with them and she is just a very gifted talented young girl. I just love her. You need to watch her compete at age 9 in Holland's Got Talent. She is totally gifted and composed - some call her an "old soul" meaning she is beyond her age or years. I totally agree with them.

Amira was 13 yo here. She won a Dutch national singing championship at 9 yo (!) She's 19 yo now. Clearly, a vocal prodigy.
