There was a Gamoroan who served in either rogue or wraith squadron (90% sure it was the latter). Considering how elite both those groups were, I'd say that there are at least some intelligent and "modern" Gammoroans.
Since they saved Fett’s life twice we can say yes in hindsight. But I would have said yes even before that. Being mercenaries without an employer the fact that he was offering them a job and sparing their lives would probably be more than enough incentive for them to work for him.
We immediately see Gamoreans as beings with a big capacity of loyalty. I must admit, after seeing their crude, incompetent and somewhat dim-witted nature in RTOJ and in the animated stuff, I thought boba had made a mistake in sparing 2 guards of the same species. During the Assasin’s fight in TBOBF Ep 1, I was immediately proven wrong. Sparing your enemies when they could otherwise have been killed and then offering them to work for you can definitely work in your favour. An example of this in real life was during one of the rebellions against Henry VII. The main figure of the rebellion was a youngish person and Henry realised he was a pawn in the plan of other aristocrats. So he spared the main figurehead of this rebellion and gave him a job in the royal kitchens, and his gratefulness led him to never be part of any further rebellions.
Honestly the Gamorreans would be the perfect fit for a fantasy series, probably part of he Horde in Warcraft for instance. They being distantly related to Orcs could be a cool thing.
I can imagine perhaps certain gamorrean sows may have reached a point of intelligence where they could speak Galactic Basic, and also be a brutal enemy to face in battle.
Finally I wanted to know wtf those green guys were 🥺 those guys be perfect samurais also we all know THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT IS EPIC except for those power ranger vehicles and characters
In Legends? Because Barbara Hambly REALLY liked Gammoreans. She just dug them. Also Piggy from Wraith Squadron though he does contradict some of Hambly's depiction of them.
I did not expect the brutish pigs of Star Wars to actually have a clan structure that is more complicated than one would think. That is honestly pretty cool.
It made perfect sense for Jabba to rig the fight against the gamorreans he had brought to him. In the history of the hutt species, they were very capable combatants but over time let others handle their business.
The idea of seeing Gamorreans using blasters is blasphemous both in-universe and out. To me, Gamorrean guards will always be the brutish guards who use bladed weapons over blasters and are such chads as to bring axes to a blaster fight.
THe topic of Gamorreans not being able to speak Basic also was mentioned by Wedge Antilles in the novel Wraith Squadron. When Wes Janson mentioned that one of the candidates for the squadron was a Gamorrean. Tho Wedge didn't question the candidates intelligence, he more wondered about the hormones that made especially male Gamorreans aggressive and the language problem. It turned out to not be a problem however because the individuum in question, Voort SaBinring, was modified in a resarch facility with a superhuman control over his anger and a translator implanted in his throat. Maybe an video about him would be in order.
Also, there was a Gamorrean in the novel The Crytos Trap that was also shown to had some common sense. He contracted the virus and noticing it, he quarantined himself in his home by changing the codes for the locks (he was living on Corouscant btw). While he met his own grisly demise through the virus, he also made sure that his sow would not contract the virus through him.
I always thought that the Gamorreans seen in RotJ were more like something from a ‘He-Man’ or ‘Conan’ style 80’s fantasy, than Star Wars. I didn’t like them for that reason, but now I feel it’s the bulk of their design’s appeal.
Some sith could make them even stronger and more agressive with sith sorcery. Technically they could make almost any species into horrifying sith spawn including Wookies.
0:00: Hmm, calling Alt-universe Boba Fett a daimyo sure fits him. I've seen better guards though, one example being the Sardaukar. Was it even wise for Boba to keep them around though? We already saw what "Santy" did to him while he was on his "Polynesian spa", and they weren't even around immediately to help him out.
TBBF seems really... Disney. It's one thing to try building your empire around respect vs fear and another entirely to behave as though fear is something to be avoided. We see the consequences of ruling through fear in the original trilogy, and we see countless examples in TBBF in which the lack of fear from their opponents caused countless deaths (even to the point of wondering was it all worth it). Lucas and Disney have tried very hard to keep this reality from being perceived by their audiences, but in reality this is why Solo shooting first was such a monumental moment... it was the emergence of consequence vs idealistic perspectives of right and wrong. Solo had no particular culture he was trying to protect, if anything his culture was that of the smuggler (profit at all cost). Boba assumes all profit from his predecessors so it makes some sense that his goals would be more ideal, it also makes sense considering his background and his time with the sand people. However, while idealism often marks in most people's eyes the height of a civilization that perception is most often due to the overwhelming odds of said civilization crumbling soon after... it's a questionable approach to running an empire but a far more stupid approach to starting an empire (and we see him realizing this by the end, when he says that they're not right for this position... but something that simple and precedent should not have taken someone like Boba so long to realize and should have been more like second nature to his understanding of the galaxy by then). All together, while appreciated for the extension of lore I find TBBF to be an overly expositional take on rather simplistic philosophical constructs. :(
Who would like to be "porked" by hot buff Gamorrean?¬ , only me?:o , they are so ripped in the show , "strong man" ripped , not these "fake muscle people" you see in muscle shows.
You say that the Gamorreans are dumb but yet supposedly smart enough to hang back till just the right moment when Boba was being attacked by the nightwind. Personally I saw their charge as they were doing something else like eating, got distracted, then came out and were like oh shit our boss is under attack! Plus hiring bodyguards whose previous TWO employers were assassinated doesn't exactly testify to their prowess.
0:34-0:37: Gamorrean's are Transformers!? And suddenly they are a lot cooler to me now. Also, I've been enjoying the Book of Bboba Fett so far, although the start was a little slow, but much like Mandalorian, it was using that slow start to build up its cast, characters, and even its setting of Tattoine(I'm not extremely well versed in the old EU, so I'm seeing many parts of Tattoine I didn't know about for the first time here). So that was pretty good and now it looks like with how episode 4 ended that we're building to something bigger and cooler which I can't wait to see.
The Book of Fett has shown us our preconceptions of the "stupid" races, such as Gamorreans and Tuskens, is seriously unfounded.... perhaps you can not judge a book by it's cover :)
I like that Boba Fett showed respect and appreciation for his Gamorrean guards that he shared his bacta tank with the one injured in the Wookie fight. Can't imagine any other employers of Gamorrean doing this.

The idea of seeing Gamorreans using blasters is blasphemous both in-universe and out. To me, Gamorrean guards will always be the brutish guards who use bladed weapons over blasters and are such chads as to bring axes to a blaster fight.
Ive loved them ever since Lego Star wars the complete saga
Gamorreans are the Orcs of the Star Wars Universe
Gamorrean guards have always been a favorite of mine
I would love to see one turn up in live action looking like that artwork at 2:29 or 2:44 that would be so epic
Cant wait for the new minifig will be cool
Any chance you could do a video about that weird elephant alien that’s always playing music in the bars
Hehe yaa he looks soo weird to me like a blue couch kinda
@@SquirrelASMR vids have been done about him and his species on various channels. He is an Ortolan named Max Rebo
Star Wars bacon at its finest 🥓
I don't do cosplay. But I have the perfect body to pull off a Gamorrean if I ever want to.
They kinda look like Orcs from the old first ed. D&D monster manual.
I always thought that the Gamorreans seen in RotJ were more like something from a ‘He-Man’ or ‘Conan’ style 80’s fantasy, than Star Wars. I didn’t like them for that reason, but now I feel it’s the bulk of their design’s appeal.
The gormorians are some of my favourite species
Gotta respect them. You gotta.
I think it'd be interesting to to "uplift" some gammorreans using kaminoin cloning, think clone commandos but gammorrean instead of human DNA
Some sith could make them even stronger and more agressive with sith sorcery. Technically they could make almost any species into horrifying sith spawn including Wookies.
Gamorreans: The Orcs of the Star Wars universe
Gamorreans are more honorable and loyal than most believe.
These guys look so much like Legend of Zelda Moblins that it hurts.
They're the orks of starwars
i always think Boba made the right choice there. them boys have been nothing BUT loyal to him!
Now they’re dead. ):
I’m so sad for the piggies now.
All I know is that these Gamorians could use a good krumpin WAAAGH
They are loyal men in the series. They were working. Honorable men.
Man they died but loyal to the end.
Who would like to be "porked" by hot buff Gamorrean?¬ , only me?:o , they are so ripped in the show , "strong man" ripped , not these "fake muscle people" you see in muscle shows.
my only gripe with the ones in the book of boba fett is that they aren’t as “drooly” as they were in EP6
I just want to see the old style Gamorrean, not this new one that just looks like a big guy in a bad halloween outfit.
I picture those shirtless green pigs living on that mushroom planet in the sonic movie.
I know what happens when Kermit the frog get on with mrs piggy lmao 🤣
The Book of Fett has shown us our preconceptions of the "stupid" races, such as Gamorreans and Tuskens, is seriously unfounded.... perhaps you can not judge a book by it's cover :)
Seems like boba put them on a proper diet to be more effective.
People look down on the Gamorians in the SWverse, but they're like Klingons or Krogans. A physically prowess race. Not to take lately.
Or even like some versions of Orcs
