you know they did great when their japanese debut is entering kpop charts 📊
For such a young group they already experienced so much challenges and hardships, and they only seem to get better from it, and they never stop evolving, they dont just settle with just sounding like the usual kpop group...Newjeans is a group that will be legendary and one of a kind when all is said and done, im talking about outside of KPop too.
Newjeans is something special.
Theyre also a group who actually got their own sound, which is very rare for musicians...especially in an industry like kpop.

streets also says that danielle is the zebra haerin was riding because she has the star at the same exact spot on her face as the zebra in the mv
I think its more Hyein is the 'supernatural' being of the song title... Only the guy sees her... if you notice in the video No one interacts with Hyein except the guy.... that scene with minji looked more like she was telling the guy we need to go but seemed like she couldn't see Hyein at all.. the song is about a 'supernatural' relationship between hyein and the guy.. just another theory.. but i did post a slightly longer explanation of my theory which explains more

The first scene is the city on a thunderous night. Surely the weather in this city is unstable.
Danielle's first song: "Stormy Night" with a TV screen showing the daily weather forecast -> proving that these girls work in weather-related jobs.
Next, NewJeans stepped out of the truck. If you pay attention, this vehicle has a transceiver mast, this is a specialized vehicle used to forecast weather in all terrain conditions.
So here we can temporarily understand that NewJeans plays the role of a supernatural weather forecasting team. The city is experiencing unexplainable weather phenomena, so NJs has been called to investigate.
During the investigation, Haerin encountered a unicorn hybrid zebra (called a zebra unicorn or what???) and was hypnotized by this unicorn (?). Next, Danielle suddenly discovered that her eyes were glowing, electric wires were growing all over her hands, followed by an electrically charged cloud. It seems that supernatural phenomena in this city can transform the people and animals here.
In the next part of the MV, we will see the scene of Minji and Hanni having a tense argument on the balcony, Hanni said "I will definitely investigate". Maybe it's because the whole team was called in to deal with supernatural phenomena, but Haerin was hypnotized and Danielle was radioactive.
In the teaser for part 2, we can clearly see the image of the rabbit-eared flying saucer getting closer to city, the rabbits all turn towards the flying saucer as if towards the mother planet. MOST SPECIAL: looking across the city, the broadcasting tower has turned into rabbit ears. It seems like alien rabbits have invaded city
BUT ATTENTION - WHAT ROLE DOES HYEIN PLAY IN SUPERNATURAL?
If you notice from the beginning of the MV, Hyein does NOT interact with any NewJeans members - only interacts with the male character. All scenes with Hyein are either solo or talking and laughing with the male protagonist. Especially at 2:04 - Minji patted the male lead's shoulder to go but completely ignored Hyein??? Is Hyein's character originally an invisible ghost and only the male lead can see it?
Hyein is introduced at the beginning of the video as Lee Hyein aka The Bunny - so Hyein and The Bunny are one - but The Bunny's dance scenes also appear and disappear, the same filming set but parts include The Bunny and parts do not.
Let me guess here: Hyein is a person from the rabbit planet, casting invisibility spells to blend into the NewJeans reconnaissance squad. Who would have thought that a young man in the NewJeans investigation team would see Hyein and the two sides having a crush on each other. In the back, little Hyein shows her true Super Rabbit form, driving a flying saucer to invade the city.
"Supernatural is a song that portrays a message of hope about a destined relationship, that no matter how painful things get, our relationship will last forever!”
Guess that's it, the MV part 2 will be released next week and see how it goes

@@user-bz8mh8ek5i thanks :) but it was another poster who pointed out that no one interacts with hyein... i noticed the bunny looking like frank the rabbit the first time i saw it but thought nothing of it.. another reactor pointed out to me the blink and you miss it scene of hyein looking like a ghost and the switching from 80s to current times constantly so i kinda put it all together thanks to them and my donnie darko knowledge.. i love that movie
Judging by supernatural being a 2 parter im guessing its another deep lore video. Yep its New Jack Swing :)
Based on a theory another poster made and my own observations heres what i think is going on. I'll try not to be too long.
But before i go on a long winded one in a nutshell.. Hyein doesnt exist as a physical form but a supernatural entity.. now lets go on lol .....
NewJeans Minji, Dani, Hanni, Haerin and the 'guy' could be paranormal weather/phenomena investigators... they get out of a strange weather looking van at the start.
None of those Members Interact with Hyein aka the bunny throughout the whole video.. it seems only the guy sees her. Minji comes to get the guy in a sort of lets go motion but it seems she doesnt see or realise Hyein is there.
Even when they are dancing the Bunny shows up and dissapears again continuously. The bunny reminds me of Frank the Rabbit (a supernatural being) from Donnie Darko.. in that film only Donnie could see frank the rabbit... much like it seems only the guy can see Hyein in this... the lyrics suggest it might be about a 'supernatural' relationship. The dancing scenes also flip from 80s looking to current modern times with them wearing current clothing holding smartphones 8:14. Donnie Darko was also about time travel. Theres a scene if you pause quickly where Hyein is sitting to left of the screen looking ghostly holding an alien toy 11:01. theres more but i dont want to be too long winded and annoying to anyone too much till we see part 2 :P
