Thank you so much for the video! It was really interesting to hear your story. I'm currently deciding my A-level subjects, I'm not really inclined to apply for economics for A-level (because I don't think I'll get into the sixth form I wanna go if I do as they have subject entrance exams) but I want to study economics and management at Oxford. Do you think it would be advantageous for applicants to have studied economics before? or would maths and further maths be enough the job?
To study economics at university you do not need to take economics the only subject requirement is mathematics at most universities but LSE and Cambridge require further maths. Hope that helps
Economics A-level isn't usually a requirement but personally I think it's really useful if you want to do it at uni so that you have at least some basic knowledge of the subject (I've applied to e&m at oxford)
Maths and further maths should be fine, especially if you weren't able to do economics at Sixth Form! You can also double check this on the subject page of the Oxford Uni website.
THIS INTERVIEW IS A DISASTER BECAUSE THE INTERVIEWEE SEEMS TO NOT LOVE THE SUBJECTS AND ONLY CHOSE THIS COURSE AND UNI FOR PRESTIGE. IF SHE ONLY CARES ABOUT ACCOUNTANCY AND FINANCE WHY CHOSE THIS COURSE
This was so useful, thanks Clare! Loved what you said about just throwing Oxford on your UCAS. Always worth a shot!
