I don't understand how you can be GenX and not ever hear a song like this boggles the mind. But it's never too late to discover great music and Metallica is a band that is timeless.
I spent a sheltered life when I was in Highschool. I listened to mostly street rap like nwa, then I moved out to the country. Metal was not really what we listened to out there. Now I'm enjoying this journey.
@@ReactionGenX same. I grew up in the 80's and hip hop was my thing untill my parents got cable tv and I discovered MTV. The first metal song I saw was One and I was instantly hooked. It opened me up to all different genres of music. Good stuff brotha. Welcome to Metallica. I wish I can experience it for the first time again.
"One" word....... MASTERPIECE !!! It would've sounded killer if James and Lars would've allowed to bass to have been heard in the final recording.... but....it is what it is....
I love seeing people experiencing this amazing music I love so much for the first time it gives me so much joy I'm so glad you enjoyed the song so much!
This was my first Metallica music video experience seeing this video on MTV as a teenager. It impacted me harder than any song I ever heard. The definition of living Hell. Now thirty plus years later as a Veteran who has fought in a war I am truly grateful for not having such a fate.
One of my all time favorites...now that you have watched this, you should watch the official video...its so emotional. Based off the book/movie "Johnny Got His Gun". My next favorite from them is "Nothing Else Matters", "Master of Puppets", "Wherever I May Roam".
Time to react to this album’s title track. The Seattle 1989 version is my favorite, but it’s a fantastic song. Also this album’s cover is tattooed on my forearm and “One” is my all time favorite song
Now do the video. It is so, so good. If you thought the song was emotional, just wait until you see the movie clips interspersed. The video is a masterpiece on its own!
This whole album has bangers, especially To Live Is To Die. This is Metallica's pinnacle and thrash's pinnacle timeperiod. Gotta check out To Live Is To Die, or The Thing That Should Not Be from Master....
F@&kn LOVE IT!! Brother 🤘🤘🤘 Just discovered your channel! I’m an old school black T-shirt wearer from the late 70’s, I accept your apology 😜, I’m Bloody having a ball watching ya! Good luck and keep up the good work! ⚡️CLIFF EM’ ALL⚡️ P.S Ya gotta do Anastasia-Pulling Teeth!!!
Wow one of a few reactors who listens to the clever people ;). I usually see 3 mistakes at reactors: Almost all do the official video of ONE first and i think that's a mistake (great video though). Another mistake is when doing Judas Priest, don't do Painkiller first! It kicks more when you know some of their classic songs before. And the last one, when listening to the Disturbed version of The Sound of Silence, when you know the band and their usual music this song is even more amazing.
Stop living with your parents. You're like 50 years old and you claim that you've never heard of Metallica. You've never heard the song before.Live on a desert island or something.?
Yup. Definitely go back and watch the video once you've heard the album version. It's quite heartbreaking.
Saw Metallica 3 times live, they are just as great in person as they are on recordings. Awesome!❤😂🎉
My favorite metal album of all time. Masterpiece
With such an underrated gem " ....And justice for all" song.
Surely 1 of top 5 Metallica songs for me.

My favorite too
Should have seen the video. Definitely go back and watch it
I feel the official video adds even more of the story to the song. That video is what got me into Metallica. Their first music video!
Good call on the audio version as a first listen. The video is good, but it is distracting if you are listening to the song for the first time.
Agreed! Video can be overwhelming to a first-time listener.
YES? The video is distracting and interrupts the song.
The video literally shows what's going on in the song

It was also Metallicas first music video :)
Glad you didn't have to end up in such a living hell.

Two live reactions; Seattle 1989, Nimes 2009 or Donington Castle 2023. Trust me; they still got it 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
S&M
I really feel for you dude. To have never heard this. I wore out two cassette tapes of this album. I pity you and my life sucks.
But it has been a blast

"The Shortest Straw" is one of the most vicious "bangers" on the album !!

Great reaction, without a doubt one of the best Metallica songs. You should react to Megadeth, you won't regret it. Greetings from Cuba
Metallica own Jonny got his gun
You need to react to Metallica live in Russia!!
Needs more bass 🤘
Could you react to finnish band called Vacant coffin. They have Music video on youtube called lepsosarium tombs. it is grindcore band.
You're Gen X, and you've never heard this ?!?!
yep, I really missed the boat on this.
Watch the official video. Your not getting the whole meaning.
Great decision. The video takes so much away from the instrumentation
I agree
Hate that video talking over everything
