I also want to add that even as a "good player" who's not nearly as entertaining as people like you or Skill Specs, I'm still doing things like scheming, forming alliances, talking shit, and constantly recording commentary during challenges. GG only works because the content creators Soup invites understand what he's going for and do their best to contribute in their own way in and out of the actual challenges. That's a big part of why it's not done with 20 random OSRS players or top PvMers.
my dad had chronic diverticulitis, shit is no joke. his attacks came in a cluster over a period of like 2-3 years, then he went like 10-15 years before having another. never had to have the surgery thankfully. i hope yours follows a similar trajectory and that it doesn't consume too much of your life, get well soon j1m!

Those TV shows are almost NEVER about skill, in fact they go out of their way to get people who aren't necessarily skilled in all of the fields they cover for entertainment. That's the point. Yeah, getting away from that is what killed Survivor. Back when it was a bunch of idiots who didn't understand the game it was hilarious, but nowadays they pick people who are experts on the game and it's just not as fun.

For me it's players like J1mmy, Skill specs etc that make the series more enjoyable and relatable. Especially as they've got great humour and character and charm.
I dont think theres up to 50h of filming session, but i can see there being 50h of total footage when counting everyones video. I did some stunt doubling for S3 and the longest I was part (underground pass race) of took like 2-3 hours. I can imagine some episodes more spreadout in the world can take more but i still doubt the footage session time would ever go far above 20. If we speaking the time soup spends editing though, 50h+ easy.
I enjoy the straight to camera chats. You got a natural charisma that makes you a fun, lower energy talker. I'm down for more like this in the future. Also best of luck with that diverticulitis man. hey jimbo, i had my entire colon removed at 26. it just straight up died inside of me. it definitely feels very strange to have such an old man illness at such a young age. and the whole ordeal was pretty ass, but everything got better in the end. not having some of/any of your colon really isn't too bad. it's a lot at first, but you get use to it. sometimes it's even kind of convenient! hope you get it all sorted out soon, love the vids

All very true, but Woox imo is not the best example. He is very akward sometimes, but he is very inteligent and overall insightful to most of the things everyone is saying and even threw his live-streams his responses to chat, jokes and trolls are soooo hillarious and great because of how he is and what he is. Amazing we're 4 seasons in and some people still seem to think GG is a full-on competitive e-sport rather than an entertainment show. I guess these are the same people who take wrestling matches seriously. Soup knows what he is doing with the invites, loads of the best GG moments have been from people who might not be "top tier" in terms of game skill.

I actually just watched GG for the first time last year, and you were who i was rooting for simply because you entertain me the most. Your videos with framed, settled, and the other guys bring me a lot of joy. It's never about straight talent, it makes for good entertainment seeing everyone just having a good time regardless of skill or knowledge of the game. I enjoyed the talking strum, as a person dealing with a compromised immune system myself and a caretaker for a family member, man I totally get it. I went to hospital last year expecting to just get some meds. Turns out i had 15cm abces due to diverticulitis. Ended up spending a total of 20 days in hopistal over two visits, and was out of work for 3.5 months. Shit sucks man, i hope your recovery to be swift.
Hey jim. As a guy who's got crohns and had to have part of my colon removed, it suck, it really does. BUT. Life is so much better after the surgery. No more cramps. No more fear of puking when you eat. You can finally have a "normal" life back. I know surgery is scary, but trust me, it is worth it! Stay strong jim.

Most people just don't know how to have fun in games anymore. Most things I remember from GG are the tanzoo and virtoso banter, J1mmy being j1mmy and the castle wars challenge because I used to play CW every chance I could growing up.

I honestly believe that Jim is one of the most talented creators on all of UA-cam. I really mean that. As much as I love OSRS, it is *hard* to make videos about it entertaining to non-osrs viewers, and you don't get his sub numbers with just OSRS people. This is my first time watching GG and I put on the S2 opener last night, which opens with gold rush. I have never been more entertained by a rs video with so many creators I'm not familiar with. And it wouldn't have been half as entertaining if Framed and C Engineer had just gone the boring route of what they're "good" at instead of taking a risk and blowing everyone out of the water. It was so much fun and soup definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to casting. Sad you're not on this season as the objectively funniest creator but I'm still so excited for the rest of the series!

40-50 hours of filming actually sounds right **for Soup,** as he has to do a lot of additional filming with "doubles" and stuff.

Amazing we're 4 seasons in and some people still seem to think GG is a full-on competitive e-sport rather than an entertainment show. I guess these are the same people who take wrestling matches seriously. Soup knows what he is doing with the invites, loads of the best GG moments have been from people who might not be "top tier" in terms of game skill.

this is why I'm sad SkillSpecs got knocked out so early! His little vendettas and the "nonoptimal" stuff he does is pretty enjoyable to watch. Like the Wildy boss one where he got mad and just started trying to PK somebody. No "perfect" player would do that, but somebody who's there for the fun of it rather than only caring about winning will.
@@SleeperJauffre I agree with you that the farmers are pretty bland and having everyone one of them on the season was a not a good move, especially zee. But frame is totally mid, you need a mix of pvpers too because the pvp challenges are some of the most entertaining.

For anyone living with Diverticulosis or similar pains get Activia or Actimal- other brands are available. It's like a shot of live yoghurt and since I've started having one or two a day my symptoms have completely vanished.

Probably one of my favorite moments from Glienor games of all time was when you and settled went to go get a gout tuber. And you mad lads actually got it. Didn't win the challenge, but that moment was just so exciting.
People really really underestimate how much of a skill "being entertaining" is. It's something that feels transparent, like editing or good wind design, it only draws attention to itself when it sucks. I'm here to say I see the skill you bring to your videos, and I appreciate it
I actually just watched GG for the first time last year, and you were who i was rooting for simply because you entertain me the most. Your videos with framed, settled, and the other guys bring me a lot of joy. It's never about straight talent, it makes for good entertainment seeing everyone just having a good time regardless of skill or knowledge of the game. It makes for good underdog stories, upsets, etc.

Sorry to hear about the diverticulitis. My dad ended up spending most of April in the hospital with it, and they had to take part of his colon. Long road to recovery.

I went to hospital last year expecting to just get some meds. Turns out i had 15cm abces due to diverticulitis. Ended up spending a total of 20 days in hopistal over two visits, and was out of work for 3.5 months. Shit sucks man, i hope your recovery to be swift.
Hey jim. As a guy who's got crohns and had to have part of my colon removed, it suck, it really does. BUT. Life is so much better after the surgery. No more cramps. No more fear of puking when you eat. You can finally have a "normal" life back. I know surgery is scary, but trust me, it is worth it! Stay strong jim.
This is the one thing I'm sad about for GG4 - no J1mmy. While you're never my bet for winner, I am always praying for your survival to another episode so I can enjoy the hilarity you bring. And yes, I want the sordid details of GGs past.
Most people just don't know how to have fun in games anymore. Most things I remember from GG are the tanzoo and virtoso banter, J1mmy being j1mmy and the castle wars challenge because I used to play CW every chance I could growing up.

I always assumed that you weren't in because they like a rolling cast. Not that you weren't invited, but that you understood that new people should have a chance to demonstrate themselves. As much as I love some of the returning players, having new dynamics is important. Either way, you're always a good contestant and very entertaining to watch - hope all is good for next season!

I honestly believe that Jim is one of the most talented creators on all of UA-cam. I really mean that. As much as I love OSRS, it is *hard* to make videos about it entertaining to non-osrs viewers, and you don't get his sub numbers with just OSRS people. His sense of humor, comedic timing, storytelling ability, and creativity are all fucking S tier. Not to be parasocial, but I'm always so happy when of his videos blows up or gets attention because he really deserves it. This is only kinda related to this video and it's something I've been thinking for a while, and I just wanted to write it somewhere. Hope you see it Jim. Man what a nostalgic video, it aged wonderfully when Soup decided to do a new twist on the banning in Season 5. Man, J1mmy being an executioner was the funniest shit I have ever seen.
This is my first time watching GG and I put on the S2 opener last night, which opens with gold rush. I have never been more entertained by a rs video with so many creators I'm not familiar with. And it wouldn't have been half as entertaining if Framed and C Engineer had just gone the boring route of what they're "good" at instead of taking a risk and blowing everyone out of the water. It was so much fun and soup definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to casting. Sad you're not on this season as the objectively funniest creator but I'm still so excited for the rest of the series!
Ayee I have chronic ulcerative colitis. Been struggling for 11 years or so. Managed to get my paramedic and nurse license in the meantime. I gotta go through the same surgery, it fucking sucks man. Just constant pain all the time, really awful. I hope the surgery goes well man!
