My Uncle had a diary farm when I was growing up I couldn't wait to run out to the barn to visit the cows I still love the smell of the barn and my uncle milking the cows by hand. The cats would line up for their squirt of fresh milk Happy memories Love your channel and I really like that you talk to them like I used to
I am home sick today and binge watching these videos. I am constantly amazed at all of the different jobs/careers there are out there that are outside “the norm.” I love how these guys care for the cows! I never knew cows get pedicures too!
You have an amazing memory for these beautiful cows! I can’t remember if I ran the dishwasher last night! 😳 These cows are so blessed to have your care! ❤❤❤
She's walking really well, and so soon to be healed like that after how deep and awful that hole was! I really love how you keep walking around to pet and reassure her. It makes me happy as well :)
I can tell you as a full time city dweller I had absolutely no idea about cow hooves and especially nothing about those who take care of them. Excellent video series. Thank you for what you do and for ensuring that I now know more about cow hooves than I ever thought possible. 🐄👍🏻
I'm the same. I grew up in a farming community, but have lived all my life in town/cities. I'm geek enough to get excited driving past Appleton Steel to take my son to school though. This started for me by watching French Chateau and farm renovations. Somehow UA-cam decided I would like hoof trimming videos. It turns out I do.
I truly don't understand how people can give this young man thumbs down? He cares for milk cows like their his. Keep up the great work young man. Beef cattle I know. Dairy cattle, not so much.
Who knew that Dairy Cows had soo many foot issues, and there were soo many of you "hoof trimmers" on UA-cam? I've been involved with cow-calf (beef) operations a good part of my life, with only the random sore foot once on occasion. I understand that cows outside that graze, typically wear their hooves down naturally. In my area our family owned and operated dairies are much smaller than the large corporate type operations that you typically call on, and between milkings they are allowed outside to graze, which undoubtedly leads to healthier hoofs than cows that stand in wet and somewhat dirty conditions most of their lives, which provides you guys with job security. Keep up the good work, that makes the life of a dairy cow more comfortable. 👍🇺🇸
We actually have very few hoof issues in relation to the number of cows we trim. I know that for my business we have less than 2% blocking rate which means weight bearing lesions.. however those are the videos everyone wants to see that's why I make sure to show plenty of regular maintenance trims as well but unfortunately nobody wat he's those videos 🤦♂️..
@@midwesternhooftrimmer6735 I try and watch them all, but I guess most want to see the blood and puss, so I'm sure your sampling of the nastiest hooves is why I assumed you had lots of those cases, but 2% sounds very good. 👍🇺🇸
Love follow ups! Do them any time! Sorry we’re all so gory and like to see all the gross stuff. Showing us dairies and how farmers take care of their operations (and of course the cows) is also very interesting… Hint, hint😁 From Petaluma California
@@topperhatschire I love Jerseys but they tend to be more salty than sweet. They are very smart and confident. They do LOOK sweet, though. Their milk is richer in fat, too. My grandmother kept Jerseys and Guernseys. She made beautiful butter, yoghurt and cheese.
These guys or anyone that workaround raw sewage or poop has gotta have some of the best immune systems on earth. God bless them all because it's a dirty job and somebody gotta do it.
I just discovered you today and have watched about 15 of your videos today. I'm hooked and subscribed😅 I even got my husband hooked...im learning so much!
Midwestern girl here. I was not raised on a farm, but many of my friends were and I would help them with chores. While I spent a lot of time around cows, I never got anywhere near trimming hooves, nor will I likely ever do so (already have a day job in which I am unlikely to get smashed to death by a one-ton animal). So why am I watching these videos? Beats me, but I enjoy the hell out of them. Thanks, guys!
Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs would agree with you . . . 🐄💩, it is what it is 🙃😁! As Sandy from MINNESOTA would comment how self-rewarding seeing the progress of the cow you treat as she walks in lame and leaves with happy hooves!
I like how uninvassive you made this look. Calm and quiet. Quick and easy. And nobody expects the area you processed who knows how many cows through to look spotless! Cows, like horses, lighten the load when they feel worried. Aerodynamics. Less weight, more speed. There is a difference between their 'living quarters' looking clean and dry to avoid issues and the mud pits i grew up with and still see in some large commercial farms.
@@mattbell8649 Not sure how that has ANYTHING to do with what I said, but everyone has the right to their own opinion. I happen to respect Aaron for his knowledge and skills; and so do the hundreds of people in multiple countries that went to or request his training. But this way it's just someone being negative/hateful and I got no respect for that kind of people.
Thanks for the update on cow 9002. You have shown us how you clean the crush but how do you and Pedro clean up after work? I imagine you got a mud room with a washer and dryer that you just toss your work clothes into before going into the house.
Some farmer have that in homes that were built in the last 40 to 50 years. But in older farm houses built before indoor water and plumbing it wasn't so easy. If you thought that far ahead to put clean cloths in a room near the door and change otherwise if you were covered in crap there might be a little streaking going on. Most had a mudroom though.
The amount required for removal the first time, then a little tweak and good to go for the next 2wks checkup. It's impressive the details looked after by the farm staff.
this is the Ocala Florida guy I have the daughter that wants to be a vet and a trimmer. We lost her mother a couple months ago to addiction. AKA. Massive over dose. She was a good woman just part of the opioid problem that we have here in States. Anyways you guys keep up the good videos the hoof Gp.
