It takes a lot of energy to do a big picture like this. How great to have a space to do it, its something i would love to do over a week for me. thank you so much for letting us watch you create/.
Beau travail ! J'aime ce qui ce dégage , les couleurs bien associées , les aplats noirs très présents , adoucis par corrections successives . L'abstraction contrairement à ce que pensent bien des personnes n'est pas facile et demande un grand talent !
Well done. Very interesting work. I started to incorporate oil pastels with acrylics in June. Pastels are a very tactile medium that I apply and work it with my index finger. I use a heat gun afterwards to melt the oil. It's best done on a wood panel rather than canvas I've found. Give it a go!
David thank you for posting these ideas! I just got a set of oil pastels (I know nothing about them and thought I was getting the chalky-type) and have felt baffled at what to do with them. Now I have a direction!
I love watching you paint this. It’s very inspiring and I enjoyed the final piece. Question: In addition to the acrylic, what are you using? Oil sticks? Soft Pastels? Charcoal? Or Oil Pastels. Also did you gesso the canvas.
I wonder if you noticed the face peeping through at the bottom right corner right above the black figure in the pink area? I’m astonished how often this happens in my paintings. Does any one else have this happening in there art work please?
@@AddiArts and you spray the whole canvas like you would do to seal acrylic? Does it add gloss? I'm looking for a sealant/fixture that does not add gloss (like varnish does).
My english is not good, but I want to say, its a very cool work. I wish I have also so big place to draw my pictures. Are the colours dry, before you make another colour over it ? Do you use thin colours (mix with water) ? Wish you a good time Karin from germany
Hi Karin! Sometimes I will wait for colors to dry to add more, and other times I will paint wet on wet, and yes I always keep the canvas wet with a spray bottle!
You give us the "1812 Overture", but cut the finale in mid-stream?! That's blasphemy! Great painting and great music. But as a musician and artist, I beg you, please, for the love of Tchaikovsky, work on your editing and timing.
This made me chuckle! Give me the first minute over the finale anyday, those first strings soothe my soul but I'm not a musician. I do feel like its an apt piece for the push-pull of abstract painting however.
I really love the video, the process and the result. (A former comment of mine has been deleted as I guess it was misunderstood. It was a reply to a really snide remark that was made by somebody on here - whose comment has also been deleted!)
ThatsWhatImSprayin: Where do you buy your canvas? I need to do the loose canvas thing, too. But I am very poor! LOL. You are inspiring me so much! I love being an abstract acrylic painter.
It doesn’t matter what you draw; you’re in it, making every detail count. Astonishing
Why thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed!
I love watching him paint...it is so relaxing to me...such beautiful work always.

Hi Judith! Yes these big pieces are so much fun! As long as there's an open wall somewhere, I'll hang a canvas on it and go at it!
Judith Russell I
Great art. Great Bible verse snippet. Awesome work!
Thanks!!
Interesting process again, love what you did !

Beautiful painting! Thank you for sharing✝️

Very, very special 🌻🌻 congratulation and thank you for the possibility to watch your creative process 🤗♥️
thanks so much!
Super Painting. Fully abstract..

Thank you very much!
Congratulations, very nice work.
Nice work and nice demonstration. I'm an artist too and I love seeing how other artist work. Vey inspiring. Thank you.
I'm glad you're inspired! I'm the same way, I learn a lot from watching other painters!

Wow thanks for the idea, I would love to try it out!
David W. McQuarrie sounds interesting. I don’t have a heat gun and have been using a hairdryer. I’ll see if it is hot enough.
I often paint on masonite. I'd like to try this on that

Man , you sure can paint !
So in love with your art 🖼. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much! Im glad you enjoyed it. I was using oil pastels and the canvas was already pre-primed, I didn't add any gesso to it.
Wonderful video, I loved the process! Thank you for sharing!
I'm glad you enjoy it!
I think this painting already looked really cool at 3:04 min in !
I love it! Thank you for sharing! 🌟🌟🌟
great video - thanks for sharing! it looks like you are using cans of housepaint, correct?
thank you! Yes for some of the brighter colors I'll use store bought acrylics, and for the more neutral colors I'll use interior/exterior paint : )
Addi Arts thanks thats a great idea
@@AddiArts Do you mean artist acrylics?
@@lucillefemine2339 yes

I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Love the text, love the scripture, great painting.
Beautiful ❤️ 😍 😘
Me gusta buen trabajo 👏👏👏🤗
Are the humans drawn with graphite, chalk? Will they stand the test of time?
They are done with oil pastel with a fixative over top! Who knows how long it will last, we'll see!
@@AddiArts thanks for your reply. Which fixative?
@@ClaudioMartella I don't have a particular brand I use, but it is usually a spray fixative used to seal pastels

Spectacular ♥️
Shoot thanks!
❤❤❤❤
What do u use to draw your characters on to the acrylic paint background?
I used oil pastels! and to keep them from smearing I'll either paint over them with a clear acrylic medium, or spray fixative
@@AddiArts Do you varnish the painting later to keep the pastels from smearing? Beautiful painting.

Your instagram link has an “s” at the end and shouldn’t. I found and followed you though (blue banana art).
thank you for the heads up!
Nice work

On canvas??
Yep! Loose canvas attached to the wall, then later stretched over stretcher bars :-)

Haha awesome I'm glad you are inspired! I purchase my canvas in bulk online from China..it does get expensive :-/
