The story of the opera concerns the emotionally fragile Lucy Ashton (Lucia) who is caught in a feud between her own family and that of the Ravenswoods. The setting is the Lammermuir Hills of Scotland (Lammermoor) in the 17th century.
Above, is a small excerpt from the Act 2 finale of the opera ("...Esci Fuggi!") from the June 10th, 1952 performance of Lucia di Lammermoor that featured:

The performance took place in the Palacio de Bellas Artes (Ópera Nacional) in Mexico City, Mexico. Conducting was Guido Picco with the Orquesta e Coro del Palacio de Bellas Artes.

GOD kissed their vocal chords and patted their heads when they were born. That last note was certainly "DRAMATIC SOPRANO", enough for me.
The way Pippo growls/roars makes your hairs stand.. And Maria's full bodied D6 is shocking aswell.. They are pure operatic stage animals and they come alive on stage, on stage the flame becomes a fire!!
Great artists, they really feel/live what they are singing.

Io posso solo scrivere e rischio sempre di ripetermi.. purtroppo non conoscendo nozioni musicali mi astengo di dare giudizi in tal senso con il rischio di dire baggianate e grossolani commenti fuori luogo. Faccio funzionare il cervello!! D' altra parte mi piace scrivere e cerco modestamente di farlo correttamente. No way that other performances in this period were recorded but somehow Callas’s weren’t ? I remember a few years ago a UA-camr was uploading footage of Callas singing that I and other Callas fan never seen. What’s more crazy is that this UA-camr showed me a still of Callas supposedly performing Lucia but refused to upload or show me the video because people were taking his videos and not giving him credit. He ended up closing his channel and I never heard from him again. But I will continue to try to hunt for her live videos.
