Gah! The only thing that really upsets me about the king Seiko is the movement. It just seems like a watch that caters to watch geeks…… but yet, the movement was really overlooked. Hopefully a movement upgrade soon!
For $2k, I can get a watch with more features, practicality, and that can be worn in more places than yet another steel watch. It should say, "King Seiko" up top. Sure, it's pretty, but if the dress watch doesn't have lume so I can see how close to the intermission we are at the Opera, or under the table when I want to plan an escape from clients/work, no thanks. Most likely, they will again only offer the lume versions to the JDM. Shame they also love to skimp on lume. The dial alone is only going to take them so far as the mid tier market becomes further engulfed by inflation and rising costs everywhere else.
Give me a nice date version, and I'm in. Either at 6 oclock or at 4:30. That way symmetry is okay still. 6r movement at the price, is an over-reach though.
Seiko needs to get rid of the Seiko logo and move the King Seiko logo to the top and put the King Seiko crown emblem above it. And put all gold king Seiko crown on the back of the watch. 👍
I like it. There was also the limited edition SJE083J1 I tried it on, it looked great. But didn't buy it. That of course had date display, but on crocodile strap. Pricey, but interesting. That has the 6L35 movement. Did you see that one?
They should have used a 6L movement to give more respect to the King Seiko name. But if they did, the price point would have gone up to $2k+. To me, that would be fine but I’m pretty sure there’d be a lot more whiners. Beautiful watch.
Agree with you mate absolutely on their execution of strategies, really looking forward to their product line release down the pipeline. Bruce, on the other end, do you think they are releasing too many watches? in the recent year seems Seiko management is trying to reinvent themselves.
The product catalog has really exploded over the past decade. I don't mind the extra choice myself. I always just pick and choose my favorites. I assume everyone does the same. Perhaps the large catalog is effective in pulling in a wider range of consumers.
37 diameter case with a 12.3 height is a hard pass for me. Seiko, GS, Omega, and now King Seiko are always delivering watches that are too thick. This should be 10.3mm tall.
You really need to try it on your wrist. It wears like 10mm thick. Forget about the spex... I wear formal shirts and this watch disappears under the sleeve.

For that price you can get 2 Christopher wards made in Switzerland or 1 Monta Noble again Swiss made and with a high beat, and more accurate sw200.
Always great alternatives at all price points. I'm about buying what speaks to you. That makes any decision the right one
A 1968-74 King Seiko ks4502 with 36000 hi beat at around $500 is much much worthy! And it’s the real King.
I like it. There was also the limited edition SJE083J1 I tried it on, it looked great. But didn't buy it. That of course had date display, but on crocodile strap. Pricey, but interesting. That has the 6L35 movement. Did you see that one?
I need that bracelet for my Snxs75 😩😀
I don't think seikos are as cheap as they used to be. But I wouldn't call them overpriced as long as Rolex is still around.
They should have used a 6L movement to give more respect to the King Seiko name. But if they did, the price point would have gone up to $2k+. To me, that would be fine but I’m pretty sure there’d be a lot more whiners. Beautiful watch.
Thanks for stating the obvious…6L35 or 4S35 would have made it a home run! That is why I won’t be purchasing one with a pedestrian 6R movement.
@@BruceWilliams brilliant thanks for the reply Bruce, have a great day!
I like so much this watch but for the same money it's Made in Svizzera ,Golden Hours!
love the double seiko logo. Wish they kept it with the GS...
Many people need hi beat movement and yet RO AP with 2.5 Hz has gone bonkers. Double standards !!
Speedy too. Never once see a complaint on the forums and YT.
37mm, too small for my wrist but it is a very nice watch.
I cannot understand how people are asking for lume in a King Seiko. That only reveals lack of knowledge for the brand....
Nice looking watch but those release levers on the clasp Protrude out way to much.
something about the lugs that doesn't appeal to me......the rolex supercase comes to mind!!
Oh man I want the red dial of this baaaaaad. ♥️ 🍒
would like to see other color models in this line
An odd move. An odd business move. Hard to fathom how consumers will respond to this.
Thank you BW
Damn, need to start saving again 🤔
It's the same movement as an Alpinist, which everyone adores. Jeez
Change for the better movement... This will be more expensive.
Yes
37 diameter case with a 12.3 height is a hard pass for me. Seiko, GS, Omega, and now King Seiko are always delivering watches that are too thick. This should be 10.3mm tall.
You really need to try it on your wrist. It wears like 10mm thick. Forget about the spex... I wear formal shirts and this watch disappears under the sleeve.
Its more like $1300, not $2000 which makes the movement forgivable. Thus watch is a must fir a seiko collection
Nice size: the price not so nice.
Overpriced? Yep
3hz movement given for swiss high beat price
For this price why 6R not 6L movement.
6R has no place in a King SEIKO in my opinion.
This is considered a dress watch? IDK, I can see it being a sport watch.
I'd rather get an overpriced Seiko than an overpriced Rolex 🤷♂
I say give me both lol
I wouldn’t buy it with 6r35 movement
Seiko being Seiko...
i mean its nice but looking at it i totally assumed it cant be more than 300$....1700$ !!!! 💩🤔🤦🏽♂....how bout NO
lol look up Grand Seiko and Credor. Be sitting down when you do it
@@BruceWilliams oh im aware..
Yup...definitely overpriced.
too small
UNA MERCEDES CON MOTORE VOLKSWAGEN?!
UMMM...
Big links no micro adjust no thank you.
Actually over priced with that low end movement
I don t like this grand father watch(i m 64 years old) not vintage....old old old style
