The manic desperation in the second verse, and the way she colors every repeated high C at the very end, as if each C is a different thought, is something I have to yet hear from another soprano. She was not much of an interpreter, but the singing was wonderful, apart from a bit of wobble in the middle register.

The tenor sounds like Richard Conrad, who recorded the album 'The Age of Bel Canto' with Sutherland and Horne. He might have been having an off night here. He was good at coloratura but had a 'billy goat' fast vibrato and thin tone.
Joan Sutherland had fantastic coloratura technic!! Not sure if coloratura technic is taught today. I cannot remember hearing it in recent times. What a shame!!
