apparently fincher has his plan for mindhunter, in which there are 5 seasons, and the 5th is where we get to BTK. hopefully, netflix keeps funding this so we get to see fincher's full vision. can't wait.
Don't forget the night stalker, zodiac and bundy.. these killers haven't been featured yet if I'm not wrong..

Totally agree. On my short list of greatest television of all time. Holt is truly amazing - and completely credible - as Agent Finch. There isn't a wasted shot in the series. Riveting from beginning to end of every episode.
Saw him for so many years playing tiny (non-speaking) roles or minor characters in films/TV. So it's fantastic to finally see him get such a rich lead character in an amazing show.
The breakout star of the show in my opinion. Holt needs to be in features with meaty roles. Great presence and great nonverbal acting.
He deservrs an Emmy nod for this role and Anna Torv does for supporting actress.

Have seen the first two episodes of s2 now, the dude that played Berkowitz was eerily similar to the real one. Love this show, have no idea why it's not drowning in Emmys and Golden Globes

Have to say i love this show, especially the interactions between the FBI agents. It's a class in how adults should communicate with each other. Nobody shouts, call the other person names. Even in high stress situations they stay calm make their point lay out their red lines and move on. I think we could learn a lot from this.

Watching him hyping up his co-stars and talking about the show so enthusiastically while being fully aware of how dreadful the reality of the source material is just shows how passionate he is about the series. I hope the time jump for the third season (hopefully there is) still includes him even when technically they only ever catch btk in 2005.
Yeah I don't think they're gonna make a time jump that big, Fincher wants 5 season but even if he gets them I don't think he's gonna get to the part where BTK gets caught

Damon Herriman's performance as Manson is intense and instantly memorable, but not showy. Terrific scene and Holt is right about the make-up team; they are doing stellar work on this series. Cameron also returns as Ed Kemper in a great scene in the same episode.
I liked that like a cat he got on highest point over the seated men.
Apparently he also played Manson in the new Tarantino film.
Damon was a dead ringer for Manson.
Thomas Sørensen I would say the makeup on Anna with the jaundiced look, could be better applied.

What a huge difference in his appearance, voice, and how he acts since his part in Old Chief Woodenhead from the 1987 movie Creepshow 2. You'd think they were two completely different people.

You can't compare these two completely different series,
True detective Season 1 was great, I didn't watch other seasons.
Overall, I agree. Mindhunter vs True Detective S1 is a tough battle, but TD S2 and S3 just couldn't capture that magic that McConaughey and Harrelson
brought. So Mindhunter tops TD quality overall because so far, Mindhunter is retaining it's magic that made S1 so great.

For me Rust is in God Tier of (fictional) detectives with Holmes, Poirot and Maigret.

I was worried he might have lung cancer after the amount of cigarettes he smoked in the series. Is there one scene where he didn't have a smoke?
I'm hoping they're fake cigarettes...not worth courting lung cancer even for a wonderful role. Nothing is.
Milf Man fake cigarettes, similar to Mad Men cause every cast member was smoking in every scene in that show
Of course, they’re not ‘real’ cigarettes, they’re herbal cigarettes that contain neither tobacco or nicotine. Though interestingly, real cigarettes *were* smoked in movies up until the mid-late 1990s, which is a lot more recent than I would have thought.

I think they nailed it in this season. They stayed very close to realism, the ending was great. I know that many were unsatisfied with the ending but to me it was great, they caught the guy but it wasn't as satisfying as it should've been. Which is what happens in the real world unfortunately.

That just says it all right there. I love that they used season 2 and the Atlanta child murders to say something real about the justice system and the way it affects everyone who ends up involved in these cases. Holden was motivated to find justice for the families, and he did his very best. But at the end of the day, even though they caught the guy who very likely committed most or all of those crimes, it was a political victory first and foremost and didn’t do much to help heal the wounds of the victim’s families. And yet, the success of the Behavioral Science Unit’s profiling tactics leading to such a political victory no doubt had a huge influence over the future of their division and their ability to have the proper resources to try and help others in the future. There’s no clear-cut, decisive win for the characters in the show, and it is so true to the reality of the events as they occurred. A masterpiece of narrative, non-fiction storytelling.
Holyt is the main pov character in season 2 and tench is such a deep character, so glad Holt got to tear into this. I remember seeing him in films as a teenager and thinking he would blow up, natural charisma and a smart actor

The "poor principle" from season one? Are you serious? He's NOT innocent. Douglas states in the book this behaviour is very suspect. Touching children, even tickling their feet, then giving them money is not OK for a school principal. This interviewer needs his head testing....
I think it shows the general public's attitude toward predators at that time. I, too, was frustrated at how some of those who should have known better saw this guy, but it's taken several decades to become aware that it is NOT OK for an educator to be touching children in this way.

Mindhunter is a great show. I hope they get right onto season 3 immediately. Leaving it too long before the next season airs would be a big mistake. They need to strike while the iron is hot. People get old faster on screen, leaving gaps of two or three years between each season will show that ageing far more. Season 3 needs to be underway now.
Holt is such a talented actor! Would love to see him play Sully in an Uncharted movie!!

I was glued to the TV with this series/show. Wow, the Atlanta killer really turned my stomach, but I had to see how it all turned out. I was like this could not have actually happened and, it turns out, pretty much everything in the storyline is based on actual events. Can't wait for season 3.
The problem with Mind Hunter is it’s far to intelligent for todays TV movie audiences. Nothing blows up, there are no battles and it isn’t flashy. We need more shows like this.

What is the deal with the hand-held microphones? EVERY interview that BUILD Series posts uses them and in every episode there are issues with the microphones. Plosives popping; sibilants hissing; volume falling because the speaker turns their head away from the microphone. It is annoying and detracts from the interview. Would it be so hard to get a normal clip on microphone?
