I think that's actually planned around the money spend on the Runewright, who needs like 30k costs if you're to get level 3 runes effects on your gear. I actually had around just over 30k when I started playing this DLC, which is why I could afford to loose to the halflings, because I had only around 2k crowns left when I was on this quest.
You can get the von Everic Card after finishing the last quest in Hearts of Stone. Just go to Shani's house, she won't be there but the card will be on her table upstairs you can grab it.
You missed out one thing in the choices of the "Bad ending". If you finish HoS before finding Ciri, you'd get to ask O'Dimm about her. O'Dimm wont tell Geralt where she is, but he would tell you how to get the "Good ending" in the main game.

Get a proper Northern Realms-deck. 2 Catapults, 3 Blue Stripes, 3 Crinfrid Reavers, add a Geralt and Ciri card for 15 each, Phillipa, Eilhart, John Natalis, Esterad Thyssen and Vernon Roche (10), get the spy-cards: Thaler, Sigismund Reuven, Mysterious Elf, and Prince Stennis. That totals 18 cards already, add some heavy Siege equipment to total your deck. Add 'Foltest the Siegemaster', a battlehorn(or 2, if you dont have the Dandelion-card), and you'll have a near-invincible deck...Tbh, with this deck, you can even decide if you'd prefer more Siege-cards(6 points, double with the horn) or the +10 Hero cards instead...

All of Gaunters rewards are all terrible, apart from the saddle, and maybe the ciri answers but if you already finished the game and got the good ending then thats useless too, the best option by far is to help olgierd, you get the venom sword during, and after you free him olgierd gives you his family sword which is the glowing red one that probably kicked your ass when you fought the 6 specters of olgierd earlier on. also it shows that you aren't some moron who has learned absolutely nothing from olgierds tragic backstory and is willingly dealing with the actual devil.
I took the saddles not knowing other options, I'm kinda happy about it. I mean those swords are pretty useless once you gain 2/3 levels, there are so much better swords out there anyway.
The caretakers spade is easy to miss and fun to use. I guess more people missed that than I would've thought. Thx for the tip about the figurine with the will and key👍🏼
also for the heart of stone dlc its not rlly about the items since a lot of them are just for convenience. olgierd's sword is named "iris" and is really touching considering the previous quest where you find out more about olgierd's history with his wife
what if i choose bad ending and get the saddles in the first newgame.. and then play newgame+ and choose good ending.. the thing is i wonder if the saddle will be around in the newgame+ ?
Eh ... At the time you reach Blood and Wine you will most likely have Superior White Raffard's Decoction, which will restore all of your HP instantly. Active shield (turn shield damage into HP) and/or Undying will also help to keep your food consumption down. Other than that it's basically a matter of "git gud."
dont be mislead, the sword you get for saving the guy is the strongest thing against human enemies. when the sword glow, you can use strong attack and it will be a guarantee knock down on human, as well as making shield enemies drop their shield 100% of the time.
Still use Iris at Lv 60+ as Combat/ Sign Hybrid, bc combat/alchemy turned out to be waaaaaay too OP. Gives you at least a bit of a challenge on NG+ Deathmarch and the extra strong attack comes in handy more often than one might think. And also I liked Olgierd and wear this sword with pride :D
The sword after the Warble of a smitten knight is actually stronger, viper venomous steel sword is also cool. I displayed iris and Eredin's sword at corvo bianco.
I used Iris for the entire Blood and Wine expansion my first time through. It may not be the absolute best steel sword in the game but it is pretty close. There are other 100 stamina saddles.
Iris sword is the best steel one in the game. With proper use ( Ekhidna+ Archgrifin decoction and Euporia) i use it for next 40 levels ( New game +) without any need to replace it.
I thought not making the riddle in time would ensue a fight instead of outsmarting O'Dimm. So I rushed through it and completely missed the sword and even abandonned the cave without looting haha. I did however fall for the Shauni illusion. :P
If you go to visit Professor Shakeslock near the end of the main quest, he will stand in pentagram drawn on the floor. However, if you put out all of the five candles surrounding the circle on the floor, you can hear a scream, that will run shivers down your spine.
Damn. I wish I knew it earlier that you can actually wear the glasses from the auction. I didn't bother to bit because I didn't expect them to be wearable items :(
I know this is very late to point out, but you missed the caretakers spade. In the quest scenes from a marriage I believe, you encounter the caretaker of the manor. After killing him you can take his shovel. Everytime you hit an opponent it heals you, and it also has a very darksouls feel to it.
just a little tip: when talking with the dude about painting and when u gave him the right answer and after he tells u the secret about the painting that should be bought in the auction [do not tell your dwarf mate about this secret, or else he will rise the price of the painting at the auction] coz he also will think about selling it at high price to the bookshop dude at Novigrad ...

Here is a great tip. I just confirmed it. You can Keep the Painting and also sell it. The Painting you bid at the Auction House, you can Hang it on the Wall at Toussaint House and then go Finish the Quest of selling the Painting for $500 Crowns. I did “Blood n Wine” dlc first then played “Heart of Stone”. Cheers 🍻

yeah there are certain side quests mainly evolved around gwent and some even force you to beat a opponent to progress. i may learn it.
gwent is so easy to play only u need to defeat the weaker ones to collect ur stack lol u don't need to learn just play it

I know it is 3 years later but yes you will keep the Saddle if you want to make sure put it in the save chest before switching to New Game +.
So the best choice is either the demon saddle for Roach(evil ending) or 2 Amazing swords plus loot cave(Good Ending).

additem ('Soltis Vodka')" Gaunter O' Dimm's Reward , gives unlimited alcohol for achemy potions
additem (Cornucopia)" Gaunter O' Dimm's Reward , gives you infinite food
demon saddle..The op swords will be useless if you want to try NG+ because u can get the OP version of them
please develop Aard for dlc . I't is literally the most useful sign to use

HAHAH I really didn't trust O Dimm such a scary genie, so I picked last option don't want anything. Coz he'd prob curse geralt like Olgierd! then went back defeated him and saved the man XD more satisfying. So the food options do work??
