      I bought it last week. myself.. Holy SHiaat! Beautiful game.. freaking story is so epic already. About 30 hours in, and still I am in Velen exploring.. The stories are just fabulous, so much information, reading the books you find, pages, notes.. just like you should read all messages on the computers in Cyberpunk 2077. Lots of information.

    One thing of note: DO NOT let your level go 6 or more levels above the recommended for each quest. If you want to do a New Game Plus and especially if yo uwant really good Witcher gear you will need to have high levels, the easiest way to get levels is by completing quests (farming can be done but it's very tedious). However, the game has a mechanic where if you complete a quest while being 5 or more levels above the recommended for it, it will NOT give you the xp reward. I finished the main story while being overlevelled by over 10 levels, each of the last few missions is supposed to give you thousands of XP, but only got a couple dozen because I was so overlevelled which severely handicapped my ability to level up. This mechanic affects most of the expansion pack missions as well. My advice, leave Blood and Wine for last always as B&W missions give a ton of XP so you will level up very fast, useful if you want to be overpowered but makes XP rewards in the base game and HoS not worth it.

      Sir, can you help? Or anyone willing to help me :(
      Quest (Talk to Avallac'h)
      So I've encountered a bug on the PS4. It occurs in the quest final preparations when I have to talk to Avallac'h. I have completed the 3 other quests in the mission, and gone with Ciri to the lodge of sorceresses. However afterwards Yen tells me I have to talk to the guy. The quest is active, yet the prompts do not exist, nor is he in his room or at the ship . I look at upstair ,he nowhere to be found. I know this is happened to many people before, but no where have I seen a solution.
      Did anyone know how to solve this problem?
      Im still stuck here in this quest :(

      Play as you like, just get wraith decoction and superior white raffard decoction and you don't have to worry if you're low on xp because all high lvl monster kills in b&w dlc give lots of xp
      I grinded to lvl 50 before even finishing some early story quests by killing bandits in toussaint fortresses (they respawn if you left one alive).

    Im currently sitting on 32k coins although having crafted the whole enhanced feline set. (32 lvl)
    1)Collect every piece of armour/weapon/horse equipment and sell it to Hatori,in Novigrad.If you havent completed his quest yet (lvl 23 if i am not mistaken) you can sell to the armorer on the main square of Novigrad.
    2)Sell every book,note you have already read to the Book store in the main square of Novigrad as well
    3)Dismantle every junk item so you never run out of materials to craft your armors.
    4)Keep only 3 hides of each animal,sell the rest to the Merchant in Novigrad main Square.
    5)Sell spare Dwarven Spirits to the Alchemist in the Main square as well
    6)Complete the horse race to get some good quality saddlebags,so you can carry as much stuff as possible until you sell them.
    That should be enough tips so you dont run out of coins. Cheers!

    Tips for getting money from somebody with 600 plus hours:
    There is an ofeiri merchant in the northeast corner of velen/novigrad. You can race him and he will give you one of the best saddles in the game. You could do this as soon as you get to velen. It is the most beautiful saddle in the game and gives your horse plenty of stamina. You can also buy saddlebags from the merchant that will bring your carry weight to 160.
    When you Kill bandits in your travel loot their bodies and sell the swords to the armorer and the blacksmith in novigrad

      This my second playthrough (although its been a few years) and im basically at the same point. I highly suggest going after all question marks on the map (tons in velen) to get fast travel points unlocked as well as xp, loot, and crafting/alchemy ingredients. Im level 14 atm about 30 hours in and ive done a good handful or 2 of quests at most 10 levels higher than me. Hit quen just before fights so stamina regens instantly, as well as quicksave. Get the gourmet general perk so you can have constant heals, and dodge like no tomorrow lmao ik its alot to write but these are some useful tips. If you can dodge attacks you keep quen shield up and can get hits in, signs casted, bombs thrown before having to cast quen again. It basically will let you tank a hit from a skulled enemy (gourmet regens hp for 20 mins so dodge nonstop with quen up if youre low to regain hp) and you can knock out some serious contracts/ side quests early. Make sure to by up all amateur/journeyman weapon repair kits so you keep your sword from degrading and doing less damage if youre away from a smith for along time

    I find the most efficient method to get coin is to run around the East cost of Velen, where there will be loads of bandit camps. Kill all the bandits in the camps, loot their swords, then sell said swords. If you’re in Toussant, you should raid the Hanse bases, cause they have upwards of like 40 bandits. At the grandmaster smith, you can sell some of these swords for 700 to 1000 crowns

    When you get around level 25 or 30 do some research and get a witcher gear set that tailors to your play style. Also side quest, witcher contract, they are all fun and give good rewards, witcher contracts are best for Money and side quests are best for xp.(also side quests that are closer to your level will give tons of xp.) Don't level up too much before doing a side quest! you will lose xp if you're level is way above the quest level.(I made that mistake and spent 30 min. to an hour doing a side quest and got 30 xp.) Also kind of obvious but don't sell or dismantle your wither gear(they are green) if you want to get rid of it put it in the stash. Also make sure you are at the right level to wear the armor or weapons you are upgrading. Last but not least save your game! If you get a high level weapon,save, kill a monster,save, I know the game auto saves but it will only save if you do something like complete a side quest or discover a sign post, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

    I have to disagree with working through each witcher gear set. Constantly changing sets means you're always changing your playstyle to utilize the set, and you're constantly spending coin on gear. Pick the set that compliments your playstyle and stick with it. Having to wait 8 lvls between upgrades isn't a big deal, trust me. Once you've completed B&W and wanna collect all the sets, go for it. A lot of players do. But spending coin to constantly craft and upgrade sets every couple of lvls is a bananas approach and ill-advised.

    I bought the GoTY Edition for mere shekels months ago, played sixty minutes to get a feel for it then patiently waited for the next-gen upgrade.
    Now that's (finally) with us I am back on it and I can see why so much love has been shown to this game.
    Some small quibbles; the horse is quite erratic even when it's supposed to be auto-riding, combat is clunky and levelling up seems to be very slow.
    Also still some graphical glitches about but hopefully this will be fixed in a future patch.
    Videos like this and others on YT are invaluable though as I can see how it can be disheartening early on, especially with the complex (for me) menu for potions etc. but overall I think I am going to be spending a LONG time playing this game...

    I find that most armor is just fashion and damage increases as soon as you build out that perk that reduces damage by 100% while rolling. Been focusing Feline gear on Geralt for 2 playthroughs now and I find that stamina regen and attack power increase make you very strong very early. Funnily I two shot the lvl 26 Royal Griffin at lvl 23 in full cat gear.

My buddy said when he played it he got to level 18 in 1 weekend but I can't see it unless he just played straight story missions but even then, getting to level 18 seems hard to do in 2-3 days. Sell swords to blacksmiths, armor at an armorer, and any junk to any random shop keeper or vender. Jewelry is a good thing to dismantle or sell because you can get lots of resources from them either way. As for what not to sell... Avoid selling gear, and weapons until you have no use for them, and evenin those cases, dismantled gear could yeild some decent resources.

    • @atcera8714

      STORE EVERY WEAPON, SADDLEBAG, SADDLE AND HORSE BLINDERS. Sell them to Hattori the master craftsman, you have to unlock him with a quest, he gives the best price for weapons and armour. There is one merchant in Blood and Wine Dlc that buys everything for the max price but at any given time he won't have more than a few hundred crowns so he's useless, it's not even worth spamming meditate

    • @georgetrillana5108

      Sell Armor only to Master Armorer and Swords to Master Blacksmith (Hattori). In that way you'll get every crown for that item. Dismantle any junk item but only dismantle it in Hattori or the master armorer in that way they'll never run out of money to buy your stuffs. Dont sell any legendary or historic weapons / armors, you can display it in your house in blood and wine dlc. You can grind at nekkers nest. There's particularly one nekkers nest that spawn 12 nekkers at a time until you dont destroy the nest and just meditate after every runs to respawn nekkers. I think the nekkers was level 42 and I grind there from level 30 to 45. And if you want to enjoy the aerondight or the strongest silver sword in the game and coolest. You can get it even before ending the wild hunt story, in that way you can use it to fight the wild hunt and enjoy the sword, because for me you'll get it too late in blood and wine dlc that you dont enjoy the sword anymore bec there's no much thing to do. Btw aerondight level requirement is i think level 42. That's why i grind at the nekkers nest. I finished the wild hunt with aerondight on me and I must say I had more fun than using a normal witcher sword. It just makes the fight more epic

    Witcher gear - expensive in coin and resources and you might run out of rarer resources trying to make every set as you go. Have at least a loose idea of your end-game build (combat or sign focused for example) and try to alternate between two sets. Used the money you save on oils, potions, bombs and upgrade them as quickly as possible.
    Alchemy/Plants - Note or research where some of the less common plants are. Some you will need a lot of for oils, potions, bombs. Buy up ingredients for White Gull as you go as you will need a lot of this too.
    Contract Trophies - Change the trophy on roach if there's going to be an extended period of fighting humans or monsters, or for other contracts. The additional 5% xp will add up over your play through. Change it when collecting less common plants too.

    It's an old cool vid, but for those who are still interested, NEVER EVER take the Xp/coin grinding/farming route advice in games like TW3, cos you'll end burned out pretty quick😰. Game was designed to find everything you'll needed but on the path by avoiding fast travel and exploring, doing contracts and finding quests, which also will lead you to the points of interest marked on the map with all of its hidden tresures. So, tip for making money relatively fast, you must learn how to fight better, try to find the better gear and weapons (leveled as "relics") and stuck with those for a long time, until you're able to save enough money to craft and upgrade the Witcher Gear, selling everything else looted from foes to armorers and blacksmiths, same with the rest of crap you'll find around, just sell half of it to merchants/innkeeps and dismantle the rest for the 0 weight crafting items, specially animal pelts. Btw, to get the most for becoming a good "trader", people should focus on upgrade Roach's saddlebags finding her better gear or just by wining races and unlock Gerald's strong back ability, as fast as they could at the very start of the game. If people can do all of this "methodically" from White Orchard thru Novigrad, it will save them the time, and the headaches, that it's to dive in Skellige, even if there is the "best" place to make more money, late in game😒

    2 tips for money
    1) Loot literally everything from human enemies, weapons sell for the same amount of coin you get from contracts especially in late game
    2) Don't waste money on whitcher gear once you go to skellige buy the Undvik armor from the kaer trolde armorer and every two or three levels go back and buy it again, it's a resistances are the best
    also preferably sell every armor and weapon you don't want to the vendor that sells it because his inventory respawns

    • @Ecliptor.
      @Ecliptor. 3 роки тому +1

      That armor is far from good. Not only it's heavy armor, it also has only 10% resistance to monster damage, which is by far the only thing that will kill you in this game, specially on death march. And if you're not on death march, might as well wear whatever looks cool to you. The other resistances are (mostly) for human damage.

    For PC you can also edit the keybinds ini so you have a specific hotkey for selecting each of the signs.
    If you then ALSO bind those same keys to "cast sign" you can select AND cast any sign you like real quick.
    In-game options prevent doing this, but a bit of ini knowhow lets you tweak a lot of things for preference :)
    Man I really should do a newgame+ run soon on death march! Magnificent game.

      @Kushigro 4 роки тому

      Hey man can you explain in detail how can I achieve that?

    • @mikfhan
      @mikfhan 4 роки тому

      [BASE_Signs] example from the input ini file, you can copy the existing binds and set your copies all to the same IK button:
      IK_3=(Action=CastSign,State=Duration,IdleTime=0.01)
      IK_3=(Action=CastSignHold,State=Duration,IdleTime=0.2)
      IK_3=(Action=SelectAard)
      That should let you tap the 3 button for 0,01 seconds to select and cast Aard, or hold it for 0,2 seconds to cast the big Aard.
      Just make sure you don't have other actions bound to the same key, or they will also happen same time or cancel yours out.
      IK_None=(Action=BK_CastAard) may be relevant also, but I can't remember if I just bound that to a key or did the above trick.

    Quit 12-15hrs in when the game just wasn’t clicking… I couldn’t enjoy it because I knew I wasn’t fully understanding it. 2 years later I’m trying again, trying easy mode which helped me to focus on other things (literally everything except actual combat) and now I’ve switched it back to normal difficulty and I’m doing much, much better.
    I just hate traveling. Roach SUCKS and fast travel is nowhere as easy as other games.

    Thanks for this very helpful video. Ive just binged watched the series but for some reason ive been asleep and thought this was a playstation exclusive game. I was thrilled when I found GOTY on XBOX for like £6 but was concerned that the 7 year old game would be tired and graphically unpleasing. I couldnt of been more wrong, yeah I cant wait for an enhanced version to challenge the Series X but you get so immersed anyway you forget to notice. Incredible game. im lvl 12 and having been mostly doing the side quests/contracts/treasure hunt question marks lol. I love wondering around. Ive just cratfed a full Griffen set and litteraly just brought the Nilfgardin Horse set last night before I logged off. Looked incredible. Took me back to the heavy armor I had on Shadowmere. How did i miss this incredible game thats right up my street.Took me a bit to get a feel for what to dismantle, sell or keep but now have a routine and seem to be running around at a base weight of 20 and already have more gold than i can spend lol. Im now just getting the hang of potions etc...It all started off a little daunting but the game eases you into all of it too so you dont have to master it all off the bat. I love the immersion with the contracts and quests etc... doesnt feel like Skyrim's rinse and repeat everything in a different location. You feel like every interaction is an experience and a way of Witcher life. You connect with all these folks in game. I only wish like Skyrim I had a home, somewhere to hang up my swords and kick back at the end of each session that also had a grinder and armor bench and perhaps an alchemy bit. But cant have it all or maybe thats all to come :) Take care ya'll

      Thank you, and yes you should really enjoy this game if you enjoy deep character building and immersion plus if you own the blood and wine dlc you will get a home, a vineyard where you can display all your armors and weapons and more

      @@HamboneGaming_ Yeah the money issue is why I've decided to invest in good saddle bags, and Strong Back early so I can loot to my hearts content and then head up to Hierarch Square and sell the armor and weapons I come across to him. Once I'm well off I take off Strong Back and just deal with the slightly smaller carry weight. It's nice early on to not have to worry about inventory management much

    Good video, one note as a new player it's so annoying being told "just do what you want". I'm sure that advice will make sense once I play for a while but right now it's ass lmao

    I exploited the glitch in white orchard where you keep killing the dwarf weapon Smith. The one that got his place burned down. I think its patched now. My coin is over 5 million and 100's of everything else. Geralt maxes out at 100. And I'm heartbroken that you can only newgame+ once not like spider-man where you can start a new game+ on the old newgame+ and really try to max out everything. So close! Yet so far. I really want platinum this game. 85% done on main game and all dlc. Damn.

      Where is the fun in cheating...
      Why play the game in the first place if you are gonna exploit some glitch...

      Don't forget a lot of people have played this game for over 5 years now and most likely played it like me at least half a dozen times, you saying its cheating is not really a true statement, thats like saying us pc players that once in awhile use mods just to add to them game or change things up is cheating, majority of people have beaten the game legitimately then later play how they want having fun with their single player game that has no effect on anyone but themselves

    Ok, so play the game to progress in the game. Do quests to make coin. Sell items to make coin. Craft armors to make yourself stronger.
    Wow, thanks. I wish I knew these things earlier. 🙄

      It took me a while to figure out a decent strategy however once I figured one out, Gwent quickly became my favorite part of the game. I highly recommend getting/using spy cards! Also, play everyone at least twice. I started building up my decks by getting lower ranked/still useful cards this way. There are several merchants that sell cards too. Best of luck!

      @@tmmoe9 Thanks Tristen. Ya I finished the game.. Managed to win the Gwent tourny, had a pretty good deck. Never got the Ciri card though. Never played Bloody Baron so don't know what he had to offer. All in all I love Gwent too. Need an actual Gwent game in reality, buy packs of cards hoping for good ones.. Stuff like that. Cheers :D

    So apparently they updated the game and changed the required levels for some of the witcher sets. For example enhanced feline Armor now requires lvl 23 instead of lvl 19. They claimed it was for game balancing purposes.
