Many thanks to Kathy McCarty, a true rock legend. Her band Glass Eye (1983-1993) was one of the most influential bands of the post-punk Texas music scene of the 80s. Kathy is also as responsible as anyone for bringing the songs of Daniel Johnston to the world. Her record Dead Dog’s Eyeball: Songs of Daniel Johnston, produced by Glass Eye bandmate Brian Beattie, was and is “the premier articulation of Johnston’s songwriting prowess… no serious Austin music collection should be without it” (The Austin Chronicle).
