Yup, i was confuse too. I have a 2001 Celica SX VVTL-I. HP is 182 NA. So i think that the chip did not increase the hp, it just unlock the VVTL-I. But you see the badge on the back it only says "GT" not "GTS".
Its simple guys, forget all the different badges.. the vvt"L"i is the higher spec engine whereas the vvti is NOT! 192bhp for us here in Europe and 180bhp for the Americas
Did they do anything to fix whatever was causing the lean running issue to begin with? Simply mapping the car to dump more fuel in when the pre existing problem is still there doesn't seem like a proper approach to me. You can't use remaps as a means to skip maintenence...even on a Toyota!
Nice Celica GT-S. There is more to the 2zz-ge than 180whp. You have to invest Into PFC to really take advantage of the vvti and lift system and Rev higher.
Well it’s not bad but actually now the oem situation is restored. But the problem is stil there. Is not normal to have afr above 14.7 (only at deacceleration). Oem wot afr = 12.5 for 1zz and 2zz. Your tuning did the same. If the problem was fixed, end result would be the same. Regardless of nice exhaust and intake 👍🏻
Something was definitely wrong with the car. I didn't hear lift at all (Toyota's version of Vtec), so I suspect a broken lift bolt or something in regards to that system OR something is just wrong with the car's setup. This explains why the power was only at 140 bhp, which is very low. I tested 185 bhp with just bolt ons.
Yes yes but mines almost at 230000 just remember this if your Cadillac converter has the check engine light on leave it it will go away over a 1k miles !!
there is literally no way you gained nearly 40 wheel horsepower on a 2zz-ge with a KN intake, exhaust piping and a unichip piggyback ECU. literally impossible. This is a scam.
@@kelseymafia yes i agree, but a 40hp increase would be possible from a engine running shitty to one running a bit stronger than stock. Maby the dyno they are using reads high?
I think you might be over estimating the accuracy of the dyno readouts. They vary considerably. But I can see just from how badly it was running before that even correcting the AFRs alone would bring significant power "increase" i.e. getting it back to what it had from new.
@@speedlabchannel4452 thanks for noticing but still it's 180hp not 140hp.. so dnt lie to people with a shittu chip unichip.. poor guys engine must have fucked up..like ur face

Anywhere from 1500-3000/4000. Really cheap honestly, 1500$ will get you a high mileage celica with a few broken easy fixes like brakes or suspension. And for 3000+ you can get a really good celica with no work needed. Pretty common car so just wait for the right deal and you’ll end up with a good price when you find one. Really nice car for how cheap it is.
@@speedlabchannel4452 It's not always about increasing the peak power though, some people do that just to make it easier to stay in the high lift zone between shifts. The car may not be any faster flat out, but it will be faster through the gears, which is more relevant to daily driving.
Indeed. It’s more exiting to feel the extra hp at 6300 rpm. That why Toyota choose to activate lift there. For a faster acceleration and smoother transition the ideal rpm’s is 4500. Its smooth so you don’t feel a boost in HP, buts the car is faster then. Lotus did this on his setup.
Sounds like crap! And a 2zz making stock 1zz hp?????? That means lift is broken considering the EUDM/JDM 2zz make 190hp. Is loft dead on that car? I would never want this guy to touch my car!
