- Reviewing the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro, a fresh 2024 fitness tracker that's like a smartwatch lite with its mighty AMOLED screen. I've been testing the Xiaomi Band 8 Pro for over a week now, including the exercise options, heart rate monitoring etc.

For a price of just under 60 quid right now, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro is pretty good value. My main complaint is that I can't get an accurate reading at times with the heart rate monitor. But this fitness tracker can be used with well over 100 different sports and includes warm up animations for the likes of running.
The watch face selection is decent, if not as expansive as WearOS - and you can't customise as deeply. But the multi-widget setup is excellent and battery life on the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro is among the best of any tracker in 2024.

Looks great value, with battery performance similar to my Huawei GT2
Looks like you had the strap the wrong way round. Swap them over and it will be really easy to put on.

I've seen S1 sport not bad but what'd have made it great was to be able to connect a HR strap like Garmin are able to.. Xiaomi have a way to got on the smart watches which are just a digital watch with a few general features imo 🤷♂️ tho I do like the barometer which is handy ☝️
Can I control the music when is some sport mode on or when I'm using stopwatch?

I love mine, been using it since November. I've been using Xiaomi bands since way back to Band 3
How do you find the fitness tracking? My only hindrance to buying the watch is whether fitness metrics are accurate
@@kinuawakai5972 no issues. Step counter equal to anything I've used before, both walking and running. GPS recently measured against friends iwatch when out hiking both same results.
@@kinuawakai5972consider that whatever the inconsistency, it will be the same. So if for example it’s 15% inaccurate it’ll always be 15% off. Not the end of the world and more accurate than one might think.

you sould buy the redmi watch 4 but the only downside it only has the new hyper os not the wear os

Hey, when you gonna review samsung galaxy fit3? If at all you gonna do.
Mine detect driving as cycling. And auto-detect isn't that great because when I stop exercising and forget to stop, it doesn't stop by itself unlike my Huawei Band and Galaxy Watch
NFC? Didnt hear ANY mention if it has it and IF it does, is it WePay etc or can we use Western payments systems

whats a diffrence bettwen xiaomi 3 and smart band 8 pro
Turns out this doesn't have 24/7 (resting) HR monitoring so you have to manually go in the HR section which is very slow and jumpy compared to their other bands or wait the 1 minute interval which is just too slow and fails to measure significantly more so you'll often get readings that are 20-60 minutes late instead of every minute
And no after sales service so returning it is a pain in the ass (if you even can)
Had the previous smart band 7 pro. The GPS was all over the place( it was measuring distance while I was not moving) and the heart rate sensor was also bad. After a few months of use I went for a swim in the sea and the band just died. I didn't even try to use the warranty. After that I went and bought proper sports watch. I know that it's cheap, but I would suggest saving some money for a proper watch(Garmin, Coros etc).

I have one since October, accuracy of sensors is questionable. Other than that, its smooth and lasts a week easily with AOD
Were you able to connect to GNSS/GPS without your phone nearby? Mine doesn't lock even in open areas
I was looking for a Basic functions one. Which it can be used right after open box. One that can choose between link to smartphone or not, You still can use it .
I was going from home today to buy Galaxy Fit 3 ,but I decided to pay little more and buy galaxy watch 6 used one instead just double the price 😅
Got one of these. The heart rate tracking and sleep is not very accurate. It will do the basics but that's about it.

Hmmmmmmmm... Brought the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 pro... To find out they removed NFC.. that's a deal breaker.. Now sits in the box. Now I found out.. No nfc again an Alexa don't work on this version but it works on mine... So cheaper.. But no nfc an no Alexa is a deal breaker.. So I got a Samsung S5 Pro Smart Watch 45mm instead..

Two differences between the two: Galaxy fit doesn't have a built in GPS ( bummer ) and worse battery life.

Can it connect to earphones?
It only controls the music on your phone. There is no onboard storage to upload music which means you cannot connect it to any earphones, there's no point.
The Redmi watch 4 is better it costs 20 pounds more but it is worth it can lasts 20 days (10 with AOD ) , it has the new XIAOMI HYPER OS, a bigger display , etc ...

Nope. Cheaper watches/bands still doesn't have NFC, because they need some reason for you to buy more expensive ones. Pretty much like Apple and their basic (900€) iPhone 15 with 60hz display, when there are 150€ phones with high refresh displays. Like I can buy a phone with NFC for the same price as a cheaper NFC watches :D
