There are many beautiful stamps of the French colonies and many overprints. I also look for the cheetahs (léopards) which also appeared similarly on the Belgium congo stamps.
a lot of French territorial beauties ... I know you have bypassed a few, but do you have Wallis & Futuna as overprints, then Afars & Issas later renamed as Djibouti .... I was looking at these in my collection lately.
Very nice tour of former french colonies. You don't have to apologize fo searching for particular pages as they were so many countries in that album. I would suggest for the next time, to just use some post-its to mark pages you want to discuss. In any case, it was very instructive. I didn't know that Congo, or part of Congo, was a french colony for a while. I've always associated Congo with Belgium. * * * I've been collecting France for many years, but only very recently did I start to dab into former colonies and territories. I was able to get a good deal on a huge set of AOF (Afrique Occidentale Francaise) MNH stamps a couple of months ago. The engraved stamps just looked so beautiful, that I couldn't resist. But I have yet to progress much in that direction. Another very recent addition to my stamp collecting is Saint-Pierre & Miquelon, the french territory on the coast of eastern Canada. I've been wanting to collect SP&M for many years and decided to make the jump only in the last month. SP&M could almost be canadian stamps when you look at the subjects of their stamps: wildlife, fishing and boats, hockey and winter sports...
Great vid showing some of the French Colonies..there must be quite a few of them. Another topic would be cancelled to order 'stamps' like the ones from AJMAN, RAS AL KHAIMAH, SHARJAH and so on...
Just an FYI. French Sudan was in a different part of Africa than Sudan. Sudan, which has the camel riders was never occupied by the French. Your souvenir sheet is from Equatorial Guinea which is a different country than Guinea and also never occupied by the French. Fezzan-Ghadames is the French occupation of Libya not Morocco. You also have Cape Juby stamps mixed in with Morocco which also was never occupied by the French.

Looks like I need my glasses replaced...which I really do, thanks for the fact checking!
So many countries sound similar that it is very easy to get mixed up.
