Isn’t it more easy just to mark one type of battery with a sticker, that way you only have to remember what is let’s say the new type, now you also need to remember which colour is which battery.
You have a very good point, but for me its much easier to have a clear colour reference when grabbing a battery from my bag.
Long time no see Darryl 💪🏻 That SL lens is a beast , a Bazooka in fact. I am sure it is stunning mate but could you imagine hauling a trio of SL lenses around ? Mercy me ~
Hi Chris, hope you are keeping well. The SL lenses and the SL2 bodies are heavy for a mirrorless camera, not sure I could do all day long 😉 My last Nikon Pro kit, was 2 x D5's - 24-70mm f2.8 - 70-200mm f2.8 and the 300mm f2.8 ... I would carry that all day and now looking back I must have been crazy. 🤪

Thanks for posting this. Agree, so many whine about the SL-system battery life. No idea why the new 2200mAh SCL-6 is so much less expensive than the BP-SCL4, but at $170 USD it's still WAY more than the Hasselblad's 3200mAh for $99. Looks like the BP-SCL4 has been discontinued on B&H.
In New Zealand the SCL6 is $60 NZD more expensive than the SCL4, but the SCL6 is out of stock and you can only purchase the SCL4... Did not know the Hasselblad battery was so cheap 😱
when I get a Q2 I will be getting an SCL6 as my second battery for sure. The fact that it is better and cheaper is pretty amazing. Also...why did you put the sticker over the sticker on the battery?
The Q2 is an awesome camera, let me know how you get on with the SCL6 battery in the Q2. The stickers are so I can easily see which battery is the SCL4 and SCL6 😉
Almost 100 more CIPA still shots increase in SL. Worth it!

For you Technically minded: BP-SCL6 is 16Wh and the BP-SCL4 is 14Wh.
That is 2.24Wh more or increase of 14.28%
Ps: Please check your camera FW compatibility with BP-SCL6 in use.

Per Leica USA, the BP-SCL6 is fully backward compatible with all SL-series cameras. FW 4.0 should be installed prior to use on the SL(601)
@@jklphoto I was shocked to find Leica had made the original SL compatible with the new SCL6, not many camera companies would do that.
@@DarrylCarey not sure when FW 4.0 was released. I've had it for awhile. Josh @ RDF confirmed that the new batt will work!

Hi Larry, two days ago I received a Leica SL body and a Leica R to L adapter from an official Leica store in Germany.
I am using it with the Vario Elmar 28 - 70mm lens from my Leica R8 analog camera.
The Leica Sl recognized the lens quickly and automatically, but I see that it only allows me to operate in manual mode, it does give me the option of the different types of metering but I cannot change the modes, from manual to A, or to P, is this normal?

@@DarrylCarey before Lightroom AI Denoise came out to clean up even m9 files at 3200 IS0, the Q2M was the best digital camera ever made.

For me its not worth getting the new battery
In NZ it’s a $60 NZD difference which is a lot of money if you do not need that 17%, if I was only shooting photos not sure I would go for the SCL6 because I never really had a problem with the SCL4. But for video, that is extra record time that’s worth it for me
